How did it go? Do you have any pictures?
We're celebrating my son's birthday when we stay at WL in November so I'm intersted in hearing how everything went and if you have any suggestions!
Thanks! :cool1:

This is what we got last October for my FIL. I had mentioned that my ILs were very into camping and hoped that they would do something woodsy but I can't really complain because this cake was incredibly good. It was a white/chocolate marble cake with vanilla buttercream filling and icing. The flowers were inedible but lovely to look at. :)

Do they charge you a delivery fee if you have it delivered to a restaurant. Like if I wanted the cake to be delivered to Boma? I know they charge a fee for room deliveries but wasnt sure about restaurant deliveries.

I just finally today got in touch with Traci from EPCOT to order our birthday cake for our Coral Reef dinner ressie in Sept. She's going to do something else special for DS4 who's allergic to peanuts. Although there are no peanuts in the actual cake itself, they cannot garuntee peanut free because products they use say "may contain" or "processed with".

As a side note, I also called our resort about doing something there and they told me they don't actually have the ressie until 7 days prior to check in. :confused3 I just wanted to have some balloons or something in the room when we got there.

Now I've got to order something special for Dec's trip and we're good to go!

OH!! BTW, I ordered the 8" white cake with white buttercream frosting with a picture of Cars (told her to be creative so not sure what I'll end up with!) on top. I cannot wait! :yay:

Hey, newtodis,

Without going too far off topic, you may want to look at Peggy's website. She does LOVELY balloon bouquets at what I consider very reasonable prices. That way, you are not at the mercy of the resort to do something. I just know that twice in the past when they have OFFERED to do something at check in it has taken until the next day or longer. Just a thought...

I just ordered a cake for the GF bakery. I really want a 8" with filling and a white chocolate cinderella. Now I was thinking Cindy wasn't available in the white chocolate. But the lady i spoke with said all the princesses were. Does that sound right??? I specifically asked for her to be painted and she said yes she is with a color dress on? I am afraid this is going to be a screen print. Do you guys think I should call back and confirm? I don't want to be disappointed. I asked 2 times if it was white chocolate character and the cm said yes. She was very nice I just don't know if she understood me? I know a pp had a bit of trouble first getting the chocolate minnie cake. Oh I don't know.

I would call back if you are concerned. They have been having cake issues there lately.

CAn someone tell me how much the marble cake runs? And what places we can get it at? I love how smooth the marble frosting looks. It looks just yummy! Thanks!

Thanks for the supre quick response. I just don't want to be a pest. I am going to call back and just double check to make sure everything is right.

I have a question, I looked at your cakes on post #229 I really liked the cheesecake castle with the regular cake under it, I am going to order that for our trip in September, I would like to know if your cake had filling in it? I don't really care for filling.

Hey PrincessMommyof3 you're real popular because I too would like to order your cake. :thumbsup2 Thought it would be perfect for our dual birthday celebration. Didn't you state that it was supposed to be all white? Love the chocolate. Any info would be soooo appreciated. How far out did you order? I think I'm getting pretty close. TIA,
Linda

DH and I are celebrating our Anniversary in September...I want to get hubby a mini castle cake, but I have a couple quick questions that you experienced DIS'ers might be able to answer:

Would it be better to order the cake and have it presented as a suprise for dessert at Narcoossee's...
~ or ~
Order it from the Boardwalk Bakery and pick it up to have it during an Illuminations Cruise?

Also: Does anyone know if I can have it made in the same flavor as my wedding cake? :confused3

Funny story for wanting to do this:
DH and I had a beautiful cake made for our wedding...We split a small piece during the reception, but DH had a special flavor for the top which we were supposed to be given to eat later...Due to a misunderstanding, he NEVER actually got to eat a piece of his part of the cake!!!!

PLEASE HELP!
:thanks:

I didn't think the Boardwalk Bakery made the mini-castle cake. I thought it was only made at the GF. I also think the cake only comes in 3 pre-made flavors, as in mass production. They do not customize the flavors. I've seen them make them and they make a bunch of mini-cakes from one big cake so I can't see how they can personize the flavors other than the 3 they offer.

I'd call Boardwalk Bakery and ask if they can make it. I'd also call the GF and see if they can, in fact, customize the flavors...

I had intended to do that, but thoughtI'd see what kind of responses I'd get from people who have had special orders in the past! Thanks for the info!

Argh I totally know the feeling. For our wedding we paid extra to have 1/2 the tiers with strawberries my fav. But I never actually got to try it. The person who was responsible for getting our top tier home forgot so it was trashed. And during the cake cutting we cut into the tier that was plain. Such a bummer. I hope that you can find a way to get them to make that cake for you DH. I think it'd be really awesome!

Just bumping...too much good stuff here not to have this further up on the boards! :goodvibes

To call in-room dining, do I call the resort # and ask for in-room dining, or is there an automated thing when you first call the resort and have you choose in-room dining? or what? Also if I wanna have a cake to be delivered to our room how far advance do I need to order it?

OH my gosh! I love this thread! It is really going to help me for my November trip. I want to order some white chocolate slippers and hopefully I will be able to and also pick them up instead of having them delivered!

Hi there!

Loving this thread and there are just so many gorgeous cakes making me very hungry!!!:rotfl:

We are having dinner at Crystal palace to celebrate my son's 3rd Birthday while on holiday in WDW this December and wondered if Disney would allow you to email a design to them to put on a birthday cake?

I'm not really sure what at the minute but hoping that someone over on the Creative Design Board will be able to help me out as they are just sooo talented. I just wondered if anyone knew if this was actually possible?

Thanks for any help

Have you heard back from AKL? Any more info?

Yes Sorry!!! Here's the latest from AKL!

The Zebra Cake is 6" round and 4" high and $40. Is is a vanilla cake
with an amarula mousse filling and glazed in white and dark chocolate to
make the zebra stripes. This is the only filling it comes with and that
is an alcoholic filling. The Mickey head cake is the same size as the
zebra cake and costs $48. Both cakes feed 8-10 people and are made here
at the resort in our bakery so it will just be noted that your son has a
peanut allergy and they will make sure that he will be able to enjoy the
cake as well. In room dining will supply the forks and plates for as
many people as you need when they deliver the cake. We do not do
anything different for breakfast in the concierge lounge but they might
do something at the restaurant if you have breakfast reservation for
that morning somewhere on property. Please
let us know what you would like to do for a cake and we can order it for
you. If you want something smaller you can get a 6" round cake for $21
that is either vanilla/vanilla or chocolate/chocolate that is smaller
than the other 2 cakes. It is made for 4-6 people.

Hopefully that helps someone out!
