Official Birthday/Anniversary Cake thread Part II

I am interested in seeing different pictures of cakes and where they were ordered from. I know there are some pictures in the main cake thread, but I thought it would be nice just to see different pictures of cakes without sifting through all of the text.

I saw a picture of a red cake with mouse ears, but there was no mention of where it was ordered from. Two years ago Tony's made a cake with an airbrushed Hannah Montana--my niece was tickled with it.

We will be in Disney in June for my niece's 9th birthday. princess: Thanks for the help!

Here is my experience getting a cake for my DD's 11th Bday. We just got back from WDW. I didn't want to take a chance ordering the cake over the phone. I read some reports about people not getting exacytly what they wanted and I really wanted something specific. We were staying at the BCV so on Sunday evening I walked over to the BW bakery. I asked to speak to the baker to order a cake. I told her I wanted a mini wedding cake for my DD's birthday. She knew exactly what I meant. She asked what type of cake I wanted and gave me a choice of fillings. She asked what colors and style I wanted. She drew a picture of it on the order sheet so I knew what I was getting. Since DD's favorite color is green and she loves Mickey we went with that theme. She said she needed 48 hours and I needed it by Wednesday so it was not a problem. It was $25 plus tax and I paid then and she wrote paid on the order form and gave me a receipt. I was able to have it ready anytime so I asked for it to be ready at 10am. On Wednesday morning I picked it up and I couldn't have been happier!! When I picked it up they were nice enough to give me a candle and box it up carefully. The baker also wrote Happy Birthday and my DD's name in chocolate too!
Here is the cake:

What a beautiful cake!!!! Thank you for sharing!

I just ordered a cake for my step father over the phone and I'm a little nervous. I order the Strawberry Shortcake Gourmet cake, has anyone had any experience here?

Thanks!!

If you ordered a cake from CSR (assuming they let you), would they bake it onsite?

Also, the restaurants at Epcot, does each one do their own or do they all get it from a central location?

I have decided to have a cake for our anniversary in Sept. I want choc. cake, whipped choc. frosting and custard and strawberries in the middle. I think I will have it delivered to Narcoossee's on our first full day at WDW. That way since there is only the 2 of us, we can snack on it all week. So should I call GF private dinning , the cake hot line or Narcoossee's?

Thanks for the advice, I am going to call back within the 30 day limit, I have never ordered a birthday cake before! I did call the gotline and spoke with the crystal palace and they have options 6 in 8 in 10 in is the only cake you can do fillings on and. Cake flavors are choc marble or vanilla and fillings ar choc or vanilla buttercream. That with custom decoration would have been expensive

Thank you everyone! Sorry the picture is so big! The cake also tasted really good!

Sounds like my kind of cake! Where did you order it delivered to? Did you call the main cake hotline, or a restaurant directly? How much did they say the charge would be?

Oh wow, I hope someone has pics of this one!

They are delivering it to their table at Tutto Italia. I called the main cake hotline and they put me in touch with the restaurant directly.

For a plain ice cream 6' cake it would have been $25.

The strawberry shortcake was 8' and $32 I think.

I'm hoping it turns out alright! Kinda seems weird paying for something and not seeing it!

Desnik that cake is amazing can i ask how big it was? How many people do you think it could feed? We are going for my DD's 11th b'day and this is just beautiful
Thanks

Hm, what's this about an ice cream cake? Disney can do that? I only thought that did regular cakes, from what I've read.

I asked my Mom the other day what kind of cake she would want for her birthday and the first thing she said was "Hm, an Ice Cream cake.", I told her I didn't think Disney could do that.

Eh, I don't think I like the idea of an Ice Cream cake, seem's too sugary/sweet, but whatever.

Details, please?

Does anyone know if the Boardwalk Bakery regularly stocks the Mickey head cakes, or would I have to order one in advance?

I can't really give you any other details as I wasn't interested in the ice cream cake.

I just called Tutto Italia and she said that the 6' cake was "Like an ice cream cake"

Not too sure what that means ha ha.

Great cake! Thanks for the details on ordering it.

I've been trying to find out the same thing. If you get an answer, please share the info. :)

Thanks for letting us know what the options are at CP.

Wow, great options! Your cake sounds delicious! My DS would love an ice cream cake. It's too bad he didn't choose TI for his birthday dinner. If you don't mind me asking, what time did you call? I'll be calling this week for a cake at Nine Dragons, & was wondering what is the best time to call.

I actually called right at dinner time (by accident) but it took a while for me to get transfered to the right person. PLUS with the woman's heavy accent, it took a while for me to get it confirmed!

But hopefully it will be worth it, I'll post more about it once my parents get back

I was trying to find pictures of Disney cakes and came across this (not a Disney cake, though). Do you think there's any way to have something similar to this made? Even without the mouse ear topper (I'd love it, but I'm assuming they may not be able to do that)? I don't really care what restaurant it's at.. our daughter would love it! I know it's pretty simple, I'm just not sure who can do it or where I can order it!

I would post the picture, but it won't let me right now!

Thanks for the info. I'm looking forward to hearing about your parent's cake.

Desnik posted a cake on page 144 that's very similar to that cake. It was from Boardwalk Bakery.
