ANYONE? :confused3
Do they still only have Zebra cakes at AKL or do they have a variety now? Also if I wanna have it delivered to my room after we check in do I call the cake hotline or the resort?

I just ordered my DD's cake. We leave 2 weeks from today.:woohoo: I'm picking it up from Boardwalk Bakery on the day we arrive. I ordered a 10 in. chocolate cake with white chocolate mousse and white buttercream icing. I have a Tinkerbell figurine I'm taking with me to place on the cake. The are putting purple flowers on it and writing Happy Birthday around the edge. I'm so excited.

Well, found the answer to my own question about 50s Prime Time. Now, do you think that 50s or Whisperering Canyon would be better for a celebration for 2 16yo girls?

Here comes a stupid question. How do you order the birthday cakes? Do you call Disney Dining or the restaurant?

We're celebrating my mom's birthday on our upcoming trip (this month) and as none of us are big cake eaters, I'm thinking of ordering the chocolate covered strawberries for her. We're having dinner at 1900 Park Far on the day of her birthday, so I'm hoping it's possible to have them made/delivered there? Does anyone know how much the chocolate covered strawberries cost, how they come decorated, and how many you get?

Thanks!!

I just ordered DS birthday cake for Ohana's. Once again, I am so lucky to have found this board! :disrocks:

We got the cutest cake at Prime Time for a Birthday yesterday. I ordered at the podium when we arrived. I got chocolate w/chocolate icing. It was quite pretty. I'll post picture when we get home. We leave tomorow. Boo Hoo!!

Blessings,
Winnie

Thanks. look forward to seeing it. You just ordered when you came in? What was the cost, and how many did it serve?

From our recent stay at OKW....Olivia's Cafe made this for my son and his buddy to celebrate their 8th grade graduation...(they also enjoyed Star Wars Weekend) ....and the cake:)

That's great-my son would LOVE that cake!

I love that Star Wars cake! OMG! My DS and DH would be in heaven if they saw that! Thanks for sharing. :woohoo:

they did a nice job decorating that star wars cake - especially how they put the names on the front of it, perfect for picture-taking!

Good Morning!!

I'm so thankful to have found this thread. You people are so amazing to put all of this together! :worship: :worship: :cool1: I can't wait to go back to the first thread and check out more pictures!!!

We've got two upcoming Disney trips in which we'll be celebrating birthdays. Sept will be DH and DS3 (turning 4). Dec will be me and DS1 (turning 2). I need some help from y'all in regards to ordering some surprises!!

Sept trip: Celebrating DH and DS3's birthday. Also, grandma will be surprising us on this trip!! I would like a cake for the boys for their birthday and something special to celebrate DMIL coming on vacation with us. We're staying at ASSp 9/17-9/21. We've got special b-day ressies at Coral Reef one afternoon (w/ diver and personalized menus). I've ordered the "generic" cake for this meal but that was before I'd found this thread!!! During the stay, we'll also be at Tony's (MK), CP (MK), Tusker House (AK). DH would love Indy Jones or Star Wars-where can I make that happen???

Dec trip: We're staying club level @ AKL (:cool1: ). As for ADRs for this trip, we're doing the princess breakfast at Epcot, CRT breakfast on departure day, Sci-Fi for lunch. I would *love* to give DS1 either Nemo or Mickey cake someplace. (and order something for Mommy!!!) ;) DS1 loves shishes (Carter-esse for fishes) and Dis (aka Mickey)-where would I be able to get either of those things on cakes?

Thank you all so much for the help. I'm so thankful I've found this thread and can't wait to look through the other page!!!:worship:

I don't know if I would go all out and get a cake for a 2yo.

We celebrated ds' 2nd bday last December at WDW and he was thrilled w/ the mickey cupcakes he got at all of our character meals. It was the perfect size for him and we were all able to get the desserts we really wanted w/o feeling guilty about not eating any cake.

Plus I think ds was a lot happier w/ the talking Donald Duck, toy monorail (the diecast one, not the big one...that's mommy's!) and the set of buses than he would have been w/ a cake! :thumbsup2

FWIW, dd and I are going in less than 2wks and I'm ordering the mini castle cake for her. She's going to be 7yo and is a princess nut so I'm okay w/ springing the extra $$.. that definitely would have been wasted on our 2yo though!

Whatever you choose... ENJOY!:cake:

You folks from NJ are so nice!! :) They did charge an additional $10 for the scanned Star Wars photo from the internet. We had it delivered in the beginning of the week (after Star Wars Weekend) and the kids had cake to eat all week!
It was yummy!

Thanks for the suggestion. Did you order the Mickey cupcakes or did the restruant just "provide" those? Just want to be sure-if I need to order them, I need to get on that. If not, I need to order a cake-I don't want to be caught with nothing for him. Also, we probably wouldn't normally get dessert at the restraunt, we'd just pick up a snack later in the park. For his cake, I'd probably just get something small sent to our room.

On another thought, can you order just cupcakes instead of a cake? Also if you have your cake sent to the room, do they provide like something to serve it with, forks and plates or would I need to provide those things? Want to be prepared if we're going to get cake.

TIA!!

The cake was $12.50. And depending how large you cut the pieces, I'd say you could get 6-8 pieces. We were on the delux DP and took it with us. And yes, I requested it when we checked in. No problem.

Blessings,
Winnie

From last October 2007 at SSR -- this is an egg-free, milk-free chocolate cake:

It was sort of what you'd expect from an egg-free, milk-free cake LOL -- chocolatey. But at least I didnt have to make it. This was when my little one had food allergies but he's outgrown them now.

The Chef was absolutely amazing when we were setting this up though. He was going to do Mickey decorations, I'm not sure what happened but we got a Mickey plush with it instead.

The cake was waiting for us at our 1 BR villa when we arrived.
