Do you have any kids that are big into Star wars? Other than the new bounty hunter game I'm not sure there's much of a benefit yet. At least that's how I'm looking at it.

No, we're not even doing HS this trip. I think we'll be ok without MB+

I'm probably going to try and grab a few off shopdisney on launch day also. Just because of the recharge feature. We always get the photopass, and that ability gets lots on older magic bands for ride photos.

You are correct - you won't get the option to buy the discounted MB's because you are at the Swan. But your old MB's will still work for your park tickets.

You are correct. Swan and Dolphin don't have pre-arrival Magic Band selection. If I were you I'd wait until the new Magic Band Plus magic bands launch on 7/27.

Yes, I know we can wait until we get there but we’re staying at shades of green and can’t get them at our own resort. I’m making little welcome baskets for everyone for arrival day and these would be perfect.

Multiple 12pm Showings of Festival of Fantasy Parade Cancelled in Early August

According to the Disney World website, there will be multiple days where there will be no 12pm showing of the Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade at Magic Kingdom in early August. Here’s the latest:
August 3: 12pm, 3pm
August 4: 3pm
August 5: 12pm, 3pm
August 6: 3pm
August 7: 12pm, 3pm
August 8: 3pm
August 9: 12pm, 3pm
August 10: 3pm
August 11: 12pm, 3pm
All other dates between tomorrow, July 25th and September 3rd have both 12pm and 3pm performances listed. It’s unclear why Disney is trying out an alternating schedule with fewer performances

Yes, I've googled it every day for the last few days and nothing. It's so infuriating not knowing. I am a planner and control freak and this is torture

Fingers crossed they leave it as it is, rather than moving it back to how it used to be.

I travel on 13th, so at least I have 2 weeks before our first park day to change our plans accordingly, but I feel for those travelling just before that date, if the information is not available too far in advance.

Did you figure it out?? I know essentially it's not rocket science, but it seems like it's WAAAYYYY more than I want to deal with on vacation. Just reading an overview of it makes my head spin a little, lol. I don't want to be glued to my phone if I don't have to/get up so early, etc. I'll be honest, I really don't know anything about Genie+/ILL, and I kind of don't want to. Which leads to the big one: Can a person have an enjoyable time without doing this??? I don't mind waiting in standby lines.....we go August 14-20, so hoping for manageable lines as well.

My head is spinning at this point. Book at 7 am...7:15 am...2 hours after park opens...3 pm....throw in ILL and I'm just lost. I'm going to wait till the 7th and just watch a youtube video.
