***Official August 2022 Thread***

We are going to be there for a last minute trip the 18-22! We will be at Universal the 18-20, then staying at a two-bedroom villa in Saratoga Springs (our first time there) from the 20-22.

I thought we were done with Disney for the year, but our dear friends wanted to take their kids to Orlando for the first time to do one day at Magic Kingdom and one day at Islands of Adventure. And of course they called in the resident Disney expert to join them on this escapade. 😂 We've never done the parks with a group this huge (9 people total!), but I think it will be fun!!

My book for the plane and suntan lotion arrive today, we booked it in April 2021 not really knowing if we'd get to go... can't believe we're finally just 17 days out.
What book did you get? I need a good, easy vacation read to take with me.

any idea when they should update the hours for the end of the month into September?

Here are our finalized plans and some notes. I feel weird making a thread for such easy questions, Help me out if you can :) Please and thank you!

  • Arrival day 8/22: Disney character warehouse shopping then Homecomin for dinner
  • 8/23: Epcot - Nine dragons, San Angel Inn and Food & Wine booths
  • 8/24: Rest day! Breakfast at Ohana, Praying we can still get Topolino's or Chef Mickey's. We don't eat pork, Do y'all think it will be an issue at O'hana given that the skillet is mostly pork products? They have substituted in the past, Not sure if they still can given shortages. We will rent a pontoon boat at Grand Floridian and spend an hour on the lake. Back to the resort to rest then the adults will hit up Jelly rolls in the evening.
  • 8/25: Magic Kingdom!! Regarding The Plaza restaurant, I noticed they don't have fried chicken nuggets or tenders, only grilled. My nephew is autistic and is very picky with food. Would it be an issue if we brought in food from a QS for him? I don't want to be rude to the server but he won't eat anything else.
  • 8/26: Animal kingdom - My favorite park! Yak & yeti and satu'li canteen
  • 8/27: Departure day :( Going to miss checking in my bag at the hotel and not worrying about it. breakfast at Boma then off to the airport.
My sister's family will have DAS and we have Genie+. I am hoping we are able to coordinate and ride similar times.
Did some Genie+ and LL research over the weekend, here's what I gathered:
  1. 7:00 AM - Grab LL attractions
  2. 7:10 AM - Grab G+ attractions
  3. 9:00 AM - Second G+
  4. 11:00 AM - third G+
  5. Afternoon Drops: 2:47 & 4:47
I heard there will be changes on the 7th  Hoping for minor changes. I am barely able to wrap my head around all of this as it is.

at 7am you want to grab both paid and G+

You can get your second G+ 2 hours after the park opens. So say for MK if it opens at 9am at 11am. Unless your first return time is before 11am then you can get it as soon as you have scanned in to the touch point at the ride.

Your next G+ will depend on your return time. If its under 2 hours its when you touch in. If its over 2 hours it at the 2 hour window from when you last got a lane.

Lots of people will set a 2 hour alarm to remind them.

This was a while ago, but we went and got a QS meal for my daughter while eating at the plaza. No issues, I didn’t advertise it but we just did it.

Thank you! I will keep this in mind and set alarms!
