*******Official August 2017 Countdown Thread ~ Feeling hot, hot, hot!!!******

To those who are still applying to my August Memory Maker share group on Facebook, thank you for your interest, however I have all the families that I can handle at this point, and won't be adding anyone else unless we have a cancellation.

Judging by the number of recent requests I have had to join my group, I think there are plenty enough of you to start another share, and have it work out nicely. If anyone is interested in starting their own, and needs advice / guidance / information, I would be more than happy to share what I know.

Hello August friends! I am in the thick of planning for my second solo trip this August and thought I'd share some of my plans with you all for a little feedback. :)
I am staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge for the first time and am very excited to check out this beautiful resort! I arrive on August 21st and have a full week of fun planned.

Arrival day: My flight arrives about 10:45 so I'd imagine I would arrive at AKL by about 12:00. I was planning on getting settled in (hoping for early check in), hang by the pool and I have dinner booked at Jiko that evening.
Day 2: MK for rope drop with lunch at BOG. Pool afternoon followed by Epcot in the evening for EMH and dinner at Spice Road Table.
Day 3: 4 parks one day! Am I crazy??? I figure I can do it utilizing the new express transport. My plan is to start at AK, hop to HS and then EP. Return to AKL for some down time then hit MK that night for EMH. My goal is one to two rides or shows per park as well as a snack and bevvie. Will probably pick up lunch in Epcot.
Day 4: Sleep in to relax and recover from the craziness of the day before. Lunch at the Mara and hang by the pool. HS mid afternoon with dinner at 50's Prime Time and fireworks.
Day 5: Resort day with breakfast planned at Boma. Hit MK for my first ever MNSSHP! Thinking of Disney Bounding as the Blue Fairy.
Day 6: AKL morning. Canadian Disney Addicts meet at the Poly. Kona Island Sushi Bar and Tambu Lounge. MK in the evening.
Day 7: Epcot morning....followed by Disney Springs. Maybe a late lunch at the Boathouse?? AKL evening for ROL.
Departure day: Sadly I have to return to the real world. :( Sanaa for lunch before getting picked by the Tragical Depress for the airport.

All plans are of course subject to much revision but it's a good first draft. Let me know what you think!

Just posting to test my ticker...117 days, woo hoo! Can't wait to stay at my dream resort and attend an unexpected MNSSHP!

Happy waiting (and waiting...and waiting...) everyone!

looks like the TA August calendar was finally updated. IDK if any hours were changed or if they just added the RoL shows, I haven't compared the new with old yet.

OK so ADRs made at 180 days out. Fast Passes can't be done until 60 days out. Anything I can do at 90 days out that I am not aware of?

Nothing really......except obsessing over your itinerary and planning those "what to do if..." scenarios...just in case!!! Or is that just me?? :rotfl2:

I am eagerly awaiting the first reports of the new Pandora rides and the crowds to make sure my FP strategy and itinerary will work for AK. So glad we go in August and aren't going in blind before scheduling FPs.

Anyone hear if there will be ride photos for Pandora?

Oh I hope so but not even a hint of a rumor if so on any site (yet-Isn't CM training going on now or very soon?)

I would think CM training would be happening soon! It must be so overwhelming for CMs when new rides are opened. The huge crowds of people from open to close day after day...:faint:

Crossing fingers that they will have ride pics for both!!! With all of the special effects being touted as integral to the Pandora experience, there is a huge opportunity for some really cool pictures::yes::

I am petrified of Fast Pass planning!!

I will tweak my ADRs and FPs, about 500 times.....moving them up or back by 5 minutes....then moving them back......then changing again. Until I feel everything is PERFECT. lol

Wow that's a great TA add-on!! I'm stuck on pandora...I'm thinking RD for the boat ride and FP the flights of passage. Like to share any thoughts on that?

Hmm . .. my only though, thankfully, Pandora opens in May, and I don't have to chose my FP+ until early in the 2nd week of June, so I have time to see what the reports say before making that decision.
