*******Official August 2017 Countdown Thread ~ Feeling hot, hot, hot!!!******

I have no issue with 1900 Park Fare - I simply prefer Cape May. But as a non-commando solo adult, either of those will work for me and "give me the character experience". Not sure why that even entered into the discussion of a place I indicated no interest in. I get that some people are excited about it. I am not. Rapunzel alone would be awesome. Flynn not so much - I find him intolerable.

Rapunzel and Flynn are meeting somewhere? For a character breakfast? I must have missed this- can you tell me more please? :)

Yes! Here is the official release about it:
NEW CHARACTER BREAKFAST TO DEBUT AT TRATTORIA AL FORNO AT DISNEY’S BOARDWALK
An all-new character dining experience will debut this spring at Disney’s BoardWalk, with appearances by adventurous royal couples from beloved Disney films! A delicious breakfast awaits your Clients at Trattoria al Forno, as they get ready to set out for a day of endless magic at Walt Disney World® Resort. It’s a hearty “bon voyage” celebration, featuring popular characters from favorite Disney stories like “Tangled” or “The Little Mermaid.”

This unique, new character breakfast is slated to begin in late spring. Stay tuned to Disney Travel News for more details, including the opening date, when you can make reservations for your Clients, and menu offerings!

Thank you LorrieAnn!! Not sure how I missed that one!! I might have to book that one once it comes open... we have a major Rapunzel fan here and also a few fans of Flynn Rider... :rolleyes1:angel:

I have to go back and read, but how is everyone doing with their dining reservations?!?!?!

I did mine this morning and got everything I want. I'm so excited!!!

Our lineup includes:
-Ohana dinner
-Via Napoli lunch
-Tusker House breakfast
-Raglan Road dinner
-San Angel Inn lunch (new to us)
-Skipper's Canteen dinner (new to us)
-Biergarten lunch
-Hoop de Doo Review (new to us)
-Kona Cafe breakfast (new to us)

I am so excited! I think I may do a dining review!!!

We did amazingly well! Staying for 14 nights on the DDP, and booked not only our 14 TS meals on the plan, but a few extra as well to pay OOP. Got everything we wanted, and nothing more than 15 minutes from our ideal time! :cool1::banana:

That is great!!! I actually went back on a couple and changed the times already, but now I am perfectly happy with the times and everything!

I have one ADR left to make. So far, I've gotten everything I wanted, nearly all at exactly the time I wanted (had two that I missed the mark by a little on, but not bad times).

Also learned something new (to me anyway): The Plaza is no longer making ADR's EXCEPT for 11:00 - 12:00. Outside of those times, it is now walk up only. I do wish they would go one way or the other, and not have this odd situation. This is going to get complicated quickly with ADR's at certain times only, or not at all depending on the restaurant.

Our day was yesterday. Everything was smooth and I was done in 15-20 minutes. No IT issues at all. We had to go 30 minutes earlier than planned on our first day, but everything else was as planned.

Well that explains the troubles I've been having!

We aren't going crazy with ADR's this trip, have a BOG lunch (because I love it!), but beyond that nothing else yet. Debating RoL dining package if one becomes available but it will be so hot think may wait til November or December for the package and just try a FP+ for it. Got the last few discount park tickets, planning on upgrading to AP's (if they get bugs worked out!). Waiting to hear about renting studio at SSR for August. Hoping we are able to scoot over to DS for meals as needed.
Do have to decide on DH's Bday and our anniversary dinner place, but currently leaning towards somewhere in Disney Springs.
Got our Disney movie rewards gift cards today-DH promptly asked where my "Disney folder" was LOL.
Our first night tradition is going to Miller's Ale House, close by MK. If we have DD's car we will be able to go-not sure how busy she will be that week...
Happy planning!

I got my last 2 ADR's this morning. Tony's Town Square . . . with how much people complain about the food there, you would think it would be a pretty easy reservation to get, and yet even at 180 days out, I had to go 45 minutes earlier than I wanted to. All in all I did pretty well though, and all of my times will work out alright for us. Now I guess it is time to sit back and relax until we hit the 60 day mark for FP+

Anyone else getting up early tomorrow to book flights for August from Southwest? We are Canadians but always fly out of Buffalo - hoping for good prices! Even with the exchange rate on our dollar we've found it cheaper to fly from Buffalo to MCO rather than Toronto to MCO. We already booked our flight to MCO, but need return flights which are scheduled to open up tomorrow. Good luck to anyone else booking flights! :goodvibes

Our last few trips have had fewer ADR's but this trip we have NINE!!!! I'm super excited though!!

I have it on my calendar LOL, but I pulled the trigger several weeks ago and purchased through Jet Blue. My family just prefers Jet Blue, even though Southwest flies out of the airport 5 minutes from us, and we have to drive to Boston for Jet Blue (only 45 minutes, but still....)

Ha! We've been doing the opposite as you lately. Live closer to the B6 airport, but driving to get to the Southwest airport! Small World.
Although because we had so many B6 points we are flying down to MCO on B6 but haven't decided how we are getting home yet. I hope to have that figured out tomorrow. We are considering splitting up on the way home with one parent and one kid on Southwest and the other parent and other kid on B6 due to B6 points and Southwest credits.

Does Southwest release flights in the morning or at noon? Anyone know the exact time?

In other random news: I bought Yellow Box "Mellow Mat" flip flops on Amazon and they are out for delivery this morning. I have been on the hunt for the perfect Disney sandals for YEARS now! I've tried Birkenstock, Spenco, Crocs, Fit Flop, and probably more brands that I can't even remember. It's not easy finding a sandal that is comfortable for 25,000 daily steps for a week!

Usually it's in the morning that the rates are released. :)

Have you tried Keens? We absolutely love those for our Disney trips. So comfy!

I may have made some Etsy purchases yesterday....gotta have matching clothes for everyone!!!

Who else does the matchy-matchy family?
