I feel like I should be doing some sort of planning for my trip at the end of August, but not sure what. Last time I went, about 15 years ago, all I did was buy plane tickets, reserve a hotel and fly by the seat of my pants. Can't do that with a family of five:)

I already have dinner reservations made, couldn't believe how fast those booked up. I made an appointment at BBB for DD on her fifth birthday. I can't book FP until June. I have 3 autograph books all set to go, I doubt my oldest DS will get into it, but he can put pics in it afterwards.

I still have to decide what stroller to use, bag to carry around the park, and whether to have any groceries delivered for breakfast foods.

What else can I do??? Help, I don't like doing things at the last minute!!!

We had a slight change of plans last week. A friend offered DD16 a front row ticket to see Austin Mahone, one of her FAVORITE singers, which includes a meet & greet. The ticket is $200.00, and my friend has offered to drive my daughter to and from the concert, so her daughter has someone to go with. The problem: the concert is August 16th, the day we fly down to Orlando. (Originally when she offered up the ticket, she said it was the day BEFORE we left.)

Sooooo, after MUCH discussion and debate, DH and I agreed to let DD go to the concert and fly down to WDW by herself, a day later. She is a very mature 16 and she offered to pay for the concert ticket and the airline change fee (was surprised SW only charged $35 to change the ticket from Saturday to Sunday and she’s still flying nonstop).

Needless to say, she is thrilled to be able to go to the concert but also excited to travel solo. We have flown from Providence to Orlando as a family several times, so she is familiar with both airports and the ME bus. Her grandfather is driving her to the airport Sunday morning for a 6:55 departure - - she had to make that request herself as part of the deal, too; of course, her Nonno agreed!

We have a few more details to work out (MagicBand – since I’ve got everything linked via MDE can she bring it with her and get into HS on Sunday to meet us, or does something else need to be done when we arrive? Luggage – should we bring her bag with us the day before so she doesn’t have to deal with it? Etc.), but everything sort of fell into place for her to be able to do both, so I’m happy for her.

I told her she is going to be reminded often between now and then how LUCKY she is!!

Hi there! We will be there Aug 5-12th @ CBR, would anyone else be around those times?
I'm taking along my 12 year old nephew for his first time :)

I'm going to Disney! I'm so excited, I can't breath!!

Hey! You'll be at WDW the same dates as our family! We'll be at Wilderness Lodge.
Maybe we'll run into each other :)

How exciting for your DD! She *is* a lucky girl! :thumbsup2

My DS flew home unaccompanied from Western Canada to Ontario when he was 14 (he had been on vacation for two weeks with his friend's family, and they stayed on for another two weeks). Hardest day of my life. Of course, he did just fine and was not apprehensive in the slightest. :rolleyes1 The process is much harder on us Mommas than it is for our teens!

I've been adding to my packing list, bit by bit. We also ordered Memory Maker recently (husband said we should do it before they raise the price, which made sense, since prices seem to be going up for everything at WDW!) We reserved a rental stroller. I also borrowed a "Disney Trivia" book from the library and we read from it every night or two during dinner. Fun :)

Memory maker was included in a discount I had gotten. So excited because I'm a scrapbooker and can't wait to have all those photos!!!

Sounds exciting! I feel like a creep asking but don't know how else to go about it, I'm still new to this forum. I think it would be awesome to meet up with wdw fans and have others to socialize with other than just ourselves, my nephew would probly like having someone around his own age or around there. For like a dinner or a few rides

Hi we will be there from the 2nd and leaving on the 10th. :cool1:

We are doing a split stay between POR and AKL. I don't think it is creepy at all. There are posters who set up dis meets. My DD (12) is an only child and loves to meet kids to hang with and do things.:)

I am up to a meet if we can coordinate it. You can send me a pm if you would like. Your nephew and my DD are the same age.:)

Well, since I could not resist the first Halloween party, changed my flight and rental for 2 more nights. Since airfare was over $100 less to leave on Tuesday and not Sunday, and the travel agent deal was still during that time, we are all set. So ready to buy the party tickets! It will be the last night we are at Disney, and since we are only doing MK that day, we are moving to the WL for the last 2 nights. :cool1:

Since today started at 28 degrees with snow, I am so ready for a nice hot summer vacation!

We woke up to snow this morning, too! Luckily by noon it was all melted :goodvibes We'll be doing the 1st party our last night also, but I think we'll probably just chill at the pool all day beforehand. Now, if I could just get DH to decide where he wants to stay!!

We woke to an ice coat below our snow this am. And we had some green peeking out on the grass too :-(. I'm not sure when spring will arrive but based on the white bunny fur I still think winter's here for a bit yet.

If this snow doesn't stop, I think I may go insane! I can hardly wait for Aug to get here so I can go to FL! I can hardly wait for green grass here.

And I am so excited about that party! It's still aryl, but at least it's Sept ;)

I had snow here too. Has anyone seen the farmers almanac? Says we are having a very hot and wet summer..

I have been to disney before, but have never stayed at one of their resorts before. I had been hoping for a nemo suite, but those were all taken for the discount I was getting:(

Same here.. Nemo suite was what I had wanted too, I read somewhere they don't have a prob filling that room so it usually isn't included :( I did get a memory maker with my stay though, which I am happy about :)

I'm 2nd guessing my stroller decision, venting it out here because I don't want to start yet another stroller debate thread.

I would definitely bring it and maybe leave it in the car/or parked somewhere. If you don't need it.. wonderful, but at least you'll have the peace of mind knowing it's there *if* you need :) Good luck!
