Are you "splurging" on anything on your vacation?

Our biggest splurge is our DC day. We are all doing the dolphin swim, and we have added on the Elite Package which includes a private cabana, the ultimate photo package, and a whole selection of other extras (dolphin bouy delivered during our dolphin interaction, photo frame, backpack, etc.).

Monday's QOTD: Are you "splurging" on anything on your vacation? Something like.... A cabana at one of the waterparks? A meal at a signature restaurant? The dessert party? One of the specialty cruises? Club level and/or a higher level resort? A rental vehicle? A day offsite at another theme park? Or.....something else?

We do have a rental car booked for 2 of our days.. Surprising my GS with a back to school shopping afternoon.

Am also going to try surprising My DD & GS with something we've wanted to do but haven't yet.. Just have to figure out how to prioritize all of our "wish lists" lol..

I woke up early to book our Southwest flight so now it's official! I'll be heading back to the World for August 2nd - 12th, staying at the Boardwalk Inn (have to wait until March to book that return flight but I'll worry about that later )

The flight itself is a splurge for us. I used to drive down from our home in Ontario, Canada with my DH, DS13, and DD11 but flew for the first time a couple of years ago and loved the convenience and speed! Now the flight is considered an essential part of our trip.

We're also splurging by upgrading to a deluxe resort for the first time. We've always been moderates (POFQ is a favourite) but, with my kids getting bigger, we wanted the extra space. We'll also be splurging on more Disney meals than we have in the past. We usually rent a car and eat a lot of meals off site but we're looking forward to being able to walk to the Boardwalk area or to Epcot to try many of the restaurants we've never visited before. Only one more week until I can start booking those ADRs!!

And, it's been 5 years since we've seen the Hoop-de-doo Review so we'll be splurging on that again this trip.

With my city under a wind chill warning right now can you tell how much I'm looking forward to summer? I can not WAIT to be complaining about the crazy August humidity in Florida

Besides staying at the Beach Club...We are splurging on the Behind the seeds tour and the dessert party.. Yay!!

We are splurging and going to California grill. And also going 2 days before our Disney trip.. Dh has a conference at the swan.

We have our couple of days at Boardwalk Inn, then at Portofino Bay.

My husband also wants us to do a Wishes cruise on our anniversary as we did that on our wedding day but not sure if that's going to happen or not!

Last year we splurged on horseback riding at Ft Wilderness. That was so much fun. This year I'd like to either do the dessert party or the Pirates and Pals cruise. Not sure yet. We haven't done either.

Splurging... mmm....

First of all, my definition of splurging and my DH's are 2 completely different things, so let me put that out there first. DH views the vacation itself as a splurge. And really he's right. Just for the basics, we're spending several thousands of dollars, and that takes into account (hopefully) free airfare and about $600 disney rewards. The basics being getting there and back, having a room, tickets, and 1-2 QS meal per day. But we do have a budget for a few extras-we just haven't decided what those will be yet.

In the running for "extras" (a.k.a. splurging):

• 1-3 TS meals (possibly Via Napoli, Whispering Canyon, Fultons, Boma, Sanaa)
• PH add-on
• DisneyQuest (not a waterpark; we have about 10 waterparks within 2 hours of our house.)
• Canoeing at FW
• Spa trip
• Behind the Seeds tour
• DD wants an IOA or SW day...
• Taxi for transfers on our split stay

I know some of these don't sound like splurging, but sometimes a few "little" extras really make your trip so much better. Everything adds up...

Right now our arrival date is Aug. 20th. We may splurge and add on 2 or 3 days before the 20th. I would love to stay at the Beach Club . That would be a real splurge for us.

We're doing the dessert party for my son's birthday. He loves MK and will have us doing splash mountain over and over even if there are lines. We did pirates and pals last year and for anyone considering we had a blast. We also rent a car, but that is because my DH is a control freak and can't wait for a bus!!!

Yes we're splurging on a deluxe room for the night after our cruise. Debating poly....I'd love to be close to MK for our last night but we may do contemporary instead lol.

I am splurging on Theme Park View at CR! We were originally going with garden wing but I decided that it wasn't that much more for tower with them park view and I was going to go for it!
