Congrats on landing the new gig, Poohlover! That will make the August vacation even more special!:cool1:

THANK YOU SO MUCH!! Yea not only will it be easier to pay for but all the more fun to relax when I feel like i earned it lol.:yay:

Early January.
This is when we book our Jet Blue flights to Florida. We always do it on the first day they are released because to me that is the first official day of planning our next vacation:thumbsup2.
Our dates this year are August 20th to Sept 1st , doing the bounceback and staying at our favorite resort POR

We are also going on a bounceback and will be at POR Aug 25-Sept 4. We will be overlapping a bit!! ;) I feel like once we buy airfare it is a definite go. Reservations can be canceled, but non-refundable tickets really lock you in!! :thumbsup2

While we have purchased flights for our last two August trips the January prior, this thread on Flyertalk: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/jetblue-trueblue/1116766-jetblue-schedule-extension-thread.html

says that JetBlue released those flights in December (2012) and November (2011).

I have my fingers crossed that it will be before the holidays again this year!

Thank you so much for the Jet Blue release info!! I will be stalking their site come November! :thumbsup2

I know that with Southwest it seems like they offer some of their lowest fare prices when they first release, do you see that with Jet Blue? Usually I wait til 2-3 months out to purchase, but I like how with Jet Blue we can choose our own seats. I would like to purchase earlier this time so that I have a better choice of seats. In the four times we have flown as a family, 2 were with Jet Blue and 2 with Southwest. But again, always purchased 2-3 months in advance. I am always satisfied with the rates that I get. But I always play the "what if they go down tomorrow" game. :faint: So I am a little nervous about getting tickets so early.

You're welcome! :)

We definitely find that prices for JetBlue are cheaper on release, and get more and more expensive as we get closer to our travel date. While I have never been on the ball enough to book on the day they were released (hoping to change that this year!) we have always purchased our tickets within a few weeks thereafter. Without fail, we have watched those flight prices climb and climb as time goes on. The nice thing about JetBlue is that they will offer you a credit on a future flight if your specific flight price decreases, which is nice to know :thumbsup2 . You just have to watch and give them a call if or when you see a dip in the rate.

We have the option of flying Southwest from Buffalo, but its their open seating that has had us avoid them so far. I'm not a good flyer to begin with (I suffer from airsickness) so I *need* to know where I will be sitting. Plus, the TV's on the JetBlue flights give me a much-appreciated diversion and really do help with the nervousness I feel. Add in the free checked bag per person and the free snacks and its a winner all around. We have also flown Sunwing from Toronto and were WAY too cramped, as well as AirTran from Buffalo (a very OLD plane, and we missed having a TV).

We flew Southwest out of Rochester this past Aug. It was our first experience with them. I am not a good flyer either, and was also a bit nervous about our family being split up on the flights. It did work out for us. I do like Jet Blue better, but their prices were much higher than Southwest's by the time we booked, which wasn't until May. So hopefully we'll get cheap direct flights since we already know when we are travelling. here's my cheap flight dance...:cool1:

I'm so excited to say that we are booked for August 2014! It'll be myself, DH, DD (will be 17), and DS (14). I found someone on the boards to rent points from, so on the 16-19 we'll be at BWV Standard, 19-21 VWL, and 21-24 AKL Jambo Standard. We've stayed at values in the past, have never done a split stay, and have not gone in the summer; so this will really be a different trip than we have done before! I have enough points to cover our airfare through SW, so we'll have some budgetary leeway for our meals! Can't wait!

We are booked for 8/2 - 8/10 @ PC. My DS (9) second trip and my DD (4) first trip. For me and my DW, it is 10+ trips for us. We thought about doing Universal, but the kids are still a little young for that....next time maybe....

The wait is killing me, but I keep the excitement alive by visiting the boards and watching touring videos with my kids....my wife calls me crazy for being Disney-obsessed since we booked......can't help it..

Our list keeps growing!!! Welcome all August peeps!!! I have added everyone with their definite dates and resorts to the list on page 1. :goodvibes

I returned last Wednesday from my girls' trip and it was fabulous!!!! I can't wait to get back in August!!!!:woohoo:

I don't see my trip yet. We're doing a split stay: 13-17 Aug @ POR followed by 18-27 Aug @ OKW. Can't wait! :cool1:

DH and I will be taking our two younger boys for a trip August 9-16 staying a POP! We are so excited, this is a long overdue trip.

OK every year I go to disney in aug. have an AMAZING time and come home to life as usual. And from what i'm experiencing this year every year i miss disney more. Is anyone else like this? I'm going thru serious withdraw and wish I could do two trips but i cant. I even saved texts that i sent and recived in Disney!! i need a support group. lol

Woo HOOOO! Got a pin for 35% off next August! Glad I held out on booking. Now to decided if I'd rather wait and try to get free dining... Hmmmmm decisions decisions :goodvibes

eta: I know I could've booked and then fixed it, but it's easier for me to visualize the whole trip when I know my discount from the beginning :)

I also have that PIN and since I am doing a split stay the first half at a MOD and the 2nd half at a Deluxe, I am going to call and get the 35% and a RO at the Deluxe. Even with FD, this would be better for us. Since the Mod's are less percentage off, I'm going to wait on that and then book that later as a package with the tickets. They could run out of rooms with that discount offered, and 35% off deluxe is pretty good.

We booked our accommodations yesterday, so we have dates :cool1: (now, they may change a little depending on flights, but for now, I think its pretty close).

August 16th - August 30th, Sheraton Vistana Resort

Our first two-week vacation ever! :woohoo:

Just called and added a day onto our trip!! :goodvibes

Originally we were 8/25-9/4, but I changed our departure date to 9/5. This is subject to change based on my kids' school schedule for the 2014 school year. With Labor Day being 9/1 next year, I am not sure of the start date for the school year. If they go back on the Wed after the holiday, 9/3, then we will change our departure date back to 9/4 and have the kids miss the first 2 days and at least be back for classes on Friday and still be there for at least one day in the first week of school.

I am hoping that maybe with the holiday being so early, that school may start Monday 9/8. Then we will stay til 9/5 and they will have the weekend to get ready. Usually I get a copy of the fall schedule early in the spring and I will be able to decide then. But I wanted to add the day now during the BB discount window. I figure easier to take away a day then add a day later on. Not sure if they let you do that after the book by date has passed.:thumbsup2

Received an email today from Disney Destinations. It has at the bottom a special 3-letter code to mention when calling, not a numbered code, a letter code. I've been told on another thread that it is probably just a rack rate code. Makes me sad! I'm waiting to pull the trigger until I can get some sort of discount. We are going this year the week before the usual free dining starts (17th - 24th) so I'm hoping something else comes up. Has anybody else ever gotten this email with a 3-letter code and actually have it be a discount??? Any info would be appreciated.

I also got this, but I believe it is what they say. I ALSO got a PIN for 35% off Deluxe at that time or other percentages and I just booked 1/2 hour ago. Many people received that email a few days ago. So, double check that email, but many you should call and see if there is a PIN attached to your name, or if that discount is available to you. It's the one that is offering FD 1/3 - 3/5 , but it also has RO discounts that time, and then jumps ahead to offer RO for that time period starting Aug 17th. She said I could've added package to it, but no need for me as we are getting the package a week before when so far no discount and staying Mod.
Also, I was not even able to get my first choice on that, but still something I would want, so people are using it.

Just called on that about 1/2 hour ago. Things are booking. I wanted BC 8/17-8/21 with a Garden room queens, but would also take Standard queens. She only had Lagoon or Club or higher for that discount left. So, instead I took YC garden queens. So, if you are partial to something specific, I wouldn't wait.
