You guys are making me second guess my initial schedule... We are going the last week in August. I originally have MK scheduled for Monday and HS for Thurs (both don't have EMH) or should I switch them so that on Thurs I can take advantage of Early EMH at MK? I have only been once last summer when I stayed on site and could take advantage of EMH and we didn't so I don't know if it is worth it. I know the crowds are low that week and we didn't have to wait for rides too long last year, so don't know if it worth it to switch. I like going to MK the first day, but I know so does everyone else. we will have park hoppers so maybe take advantage of EMH on THurs and do HS in the afternoon? Thoughts please, no one else in my family is a planner or wants to hear my ideas :-)

I can just just tell you what WE do. When my kids were little, we did EMH, because they were up at the crack of dawn anyway:rolleyes2. It worked for us then. Now, we just show up at the Non-EMH park about 45mins early to get ahead of the crowds, and we STILL enjoy that first hour and a half of really easy touring. General rule of thumb: MOST vacationers dont want to get up early on their vacation and I see these same people strolling into MK at 10:30-11:00 am::yes:: Have fun planning!

oh my gosh, I had our dates wrong, my ex-husband happened to point it out. I would've been trying to do fast passes for all the wrong dates! I wish the 60 day window would just come already, I'm sick of thinking of all the scenarios we could do.

Only 62days for me!!!! For EMH vs. non-EMH days I would do morning EMH only if I had planned to hop that day.

Ugh! I've spent the last several months happy with my plans, park days and ADR's. Now, 76 days to go I'm obsessed with rethinking and changing nearly everything! Why can't I leave well enough alone? Anyone else questioning their plans in the final days?? Do you make the changes or stick to your original plans?

I've been through at least 3 major changes in the last couple of months. :lmao:

Booking my flights nailed it down somewhat for me and now I seem to have stuck with my plan for the last 3 or 4 weeks. I snagged a cancellation ADR for Wishes Dessert Party and that sent me into a tailspin on re-arranging, but since that change, I've been stable now.

I still look at it almost every day though and question myself and think of how I could make it better and I will probably be doing that until the day I leave. It's a sickness, really. :rotfl2:

Same here. I've got only 63 days left, but I'll have to make a decision by 3 more days, because I've been keeping my eye on reservations for the summer deal and CL is still available for our stay at part of it (we have a split) and then if I did that, I'm considering cancelling our Wishes Dessert Party and then trying to get the FP for wishes instead, as that would then give up plenty of desserts at CL and also free up $$$. If I do do this, I'll then need to change a breakfast reservation that I want to try for the first part of our stay. And of course, I've still been rearraging ADR's. But since FP window is also coming up in 3 days, that will fix a lot of this.

I will just tell you one thing I have learned over the years.

MK Early Morning hours work. There is plenty of stuff available to get you to be able to do stuff. We can get a lot done there. We mostly do Fantasyland first from there and then head over to tomorrowland. With the new FP system I would do the same thing, and then schedule my FP's for BTMR and Splash a little later. 7DMT may need to be added in there too as the 3rd FP, but have always been able to handle PP, Pooh, Indy, etc., very easily on the early day.

AK does not work IMO. Everyone runs to the same rides as there are less available to choose from, so Safari is still long and you could be there for almost that whole hour. Maybe if you run to Kali instead, but you just don
t get done much in that time because of the amount of people viing for a limited number of rides.

I'm trying to think through my FP+ selections, too and it's so hard. I'm not stressing over it though. Just thinking of it like a puzzle. What I'm trying to decide is if I should set them early for popular rides, or plan in getting in at opening and going on the big rides right away without and use the FP later. I'm noticing that with FP you miss the queues with a lot of the rides. Like test track or 7dmt. That might play into my plans. I've never gone in August either; have been in October and January, so trying to wrap my head around what the crowds might be the third week of august. I can't even think about PH implications... ;)

The third week of August, thecrowds drop a little bit. I wanna say it's from a 9 to a 7 on the crowd calendars, which from my experience is pretty right on. I like 7, but if you're used to January and October, they might be a little scary ;) If you did 7dmt at rope drop, you might be fine-BUT it will be brand new, so it's possible that everyone would go there and it could get long fast. I'm thinking it might be like toy story was at HS for a while, where everyone mobs it at rope drop. Hopefully not quite as bad since there are tons of other rides at mk to disperse people a little. You could always book a fp for early, then if the stand by line isn't bad when you get there, you could go through it. Then either change your fp, or ride it twice.

Test Track won't be as bad. If you go there at rope drop, or even later in the day (when people flood the countries) you shouldn't have too long of a line for stand by.

It's finally our 60 day mark and I just finished making our FP+ selections! Ugh let me tell you this whole thing was too stressful, or at least I made it that way! Hopefully everything works out and goes according to plan :cool1:

We just booked Aug 2 - 5 and I went online at midnight and got my fast pass plus reservations all lined up! I'm so excited! :cool1:

Is there a Diser's August Facebook group?

this is me. I kinda think we can ride some headliners without Fps if we get there at rope drop. But then when do I schedule Fps? for mid morning? For early evening after we've gone back to the hotel? Never stayed on site so leaving the park in the middle of the day seems so strange but I want to try it.

I'm going to need a day off from work to plan the Fps! Good thing we don't do any TS meals or only a last minute one if one is available. If I had to plan ADRs, I'd lose it, lol

has anyone tried sunscreen wipes? they'd be so much easier than carrying around a bottle of sunscreen but we burn easy and I want to make sure these work

Never heard of them! I'll have to check them out. DH burns so easily, he could bathe in sunscreen and still get sunburn :rolleyes2

We hit our 60 day mark yesterday!! I was so excited to be able to reserve our fast passes and complete early check-in just because I know this means we're THAT much closer to the big day!! :cool1:

It's been so hard keeping the news from our little ones, I think my oldest is starting to suspect something but I know she's completely in the dark as to what it could be. Can it be August already?!:hyper:

How did FPP selection go? Did you work day by day or did you try to lock down really high demand stuff like A&E later in your trip and then back track for the rest? Did you have problems making the times work?

Sorry for all the questions but I'm a total planner and this will be my first trip with FPP and I feel a little insecure about relying on disney's IT!
