*****Official August 2014 Thread - PART DEUX****

Been here since the 26th & are just now experiencing our first rain, which I consider pretty good! Didn't really ruin a park for us either, as we ventured to CitiWalk tonight to take the boys to the NBA City restaurant for dinner. We had wanted to stroll around after & then hit EPCOT, but the rain was pretty heavy so we just called it a night. Great trip so far, though:goodvibes

We were supposed to go to Epcot tonight as well, but we were so tired and full after our meal at 'Ohana, that we went back to our resort and sat in the nice hot tub in the rain. Life is good. :goodvibes

It was nice to finally get some rain. Loved the cool down just before it started raining too. It has been so hot. DS and I got in some pool time at the hippy dippy pool. We then went got dinner after pool time to bring back to the room and the rain fell once we got back to the room with the food. Perfect timing. We also called it a night and enjoyed an early dinner in the room.

Hey everyone-we had a super amazing trip!! Not sure if I'm doing an official tr or not. It was HOT the 14-22nd with barely any rain. That was killer. But no problems with mde or FP. Had some issues checking in at pop, but we ended up with a free park day and a bunch of paper fast passes because of it. Crowds were worse than I expected, probably because the lack of rain. But we were able to get a lot done early in the morning. The 2 year old (and honestly the rest if us) needed lots if rest in the afternoons. I spent more time at the pool than on any other trip.

Best part-we have a disney souvenir scheduled to be delivered in early May :) :)

Whoa! Congrats! :goodvibes

WE were there 8/16-8/26 and yes it was hot, hot, hot. Had barely any rain either. I know it rained a little bit Thursday evening while we were in MK, maybe 20 minutes, then again Friday and Saturday afternoons around 4ish. Maybe Sunday too, but nothing Monday. We were at the resort those times anyway. So no biggie.

Crowds were heavy, especially on EMH mornings once the parks officially opened or a little after. We did alot in the morning hours, on both EMH mornings and at opening, the first few days we were back at the resort by 1:30 or so. Then as the week went on, we stayed in parks a little later. We spent lots and lots of time in the pool.

Magic bands were great, work flawlessly for us. Fast passes, we had no issues with either, I could change them on the fly if needed. Added the 4th and additional fast passes at kiosk with no issue either, although pickings were slim.

We had magical express from MCO to resort, but it took 5.5 hours for our luggage to arrive so it was 11pm, before we received our luggage, which I thought was horrible. I would not have them deliver our bags if we arrive after 5pm again.

Check-in took longer, we had a great location though.

All in all, we had a great trip too!

Just started my trip report too:

5 little boys, 2 parents and 2 grandparents hit the Hot, Hot World!

DS got picked to be the child that helped do the animal sounds for their section. Lucky for us we were in the lion section as he is semi verbal but he can Roar. :goodvibes He had such a good time at the show.

Can't believe it's September!

We are just heading home from the airport now.....so late and the kids start school tomorrow. Our flight was delayed over four hours. Oh well! Had a great trip.....now back to reality! :goodvibes

We've been home for a couple days after the best, best trip. I'm feeling post Disney depression pretty hard!

Did you book the bb? It helps to ease the pain! ;)

We talked about booking it but I didn't actually see any info on it anywhere. We definitely will start planning another trip soon, but we had to move the day after we got back and funds are very tight at the moment. Now that I'm not planning anything, I don't know what to do with myself!
I actually threw my back out moving, so I'm almost completely immobilized at the moment. I've been hesitant to come back to the dis, thinking it would make me sad, but here I am! Once we get internet at our new place I'm going to start a TR, which I'm hoping will help with the homesickness!

I got back 2 days ago and am also suffering from the post Disney depression pretty badly :worried: Wasn't able to book the bounce back also due to funds at this point, aiming to return in November 2015 but seems sooooo far away at this point.

I hope your back feels better soon! :goodvibes And if you do a trip report, I promise to read it! :coffee:

Got back to days ago also :sad1: I hate the Disney Depression! Before our trip DH had finally said yes to trying DL next summer; now he says he doesn't think he feels like traveling that far since DS8 is no fun on planes:( So I guess I have to work on him for another DW trip next year!

Also have to figure out how to get my old ticker off...........anyone know how to do that?

Glad you had a great trip! We got in at 1a.m. Wed. and kids started school today, so at least they had a day to sleep. We were supposed to get in at 10:30 but ended up getting in at 11:40, and it took forever for luggage to come out..........our trip was good, not our best but certainly not bad! Being our first summer trip it was different in a few ways due to the heat. Would I go again in Aug? Maybe :) I will say the crowds, or lack of, were fantastic!

This was my sixth August trip and crowds /wait times seemed much lower then previous years. The heat was brutal though. This was the sunniest August we've been. Usually we can count on some daily clouds to shield us from the sun.....but not this trip. :cloud9:
