****OFFICIAL August, 2012 (PART 2)****

Oh. My. God. :worship: That looks divine.

I am a chocoholic by nature though. Its a food group in this house. And I rationalize that it if you eat enough chocolate, it qualifies as a vegetable serving....after all, its made from a bean, right? ;)

You guys are cracking me up today!!!:rotfl:

I could definitely survive on desserts alone. Who needs food anyway?

I'm in the same boat

I've been reading the boards and the blogs to try and make the time pass. I'm trying to rationalize by telling myself that planning and the anticipation are half of the trip. It's not working

Look at it this way. Most of those posting on this thread will have returned by the time we are just leaving!

We have 25 days left, so that is the way to look at it. I think we have all been busy on the boards. I try to do at least one vacation task a day instead of doing it all at once that way I have something positive each day until 8/28 out the door at 6am sharp. No wasting time!! DH thinks I am a disneyzilla at this point. Hahaha

If I don't post again before Tuesday something in her room has eaten me or has me cornered and you all need to call animal control or the military to come get me.

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I hope you left a trail of bread crumbs on your way in, so you can manage to find your way out!!!

::yes:: :thumbsup2 ::yes:: :thumbsup2

Umm.. well I am cleaning and stalking the Disboards:rolleyes1

This is that time when I try to get the house completely in order. I do a deep clean before all of our trips. It makes the post vacation blues easier to deal with.
I have big plans to tackle dd's room tomorrow:crazy2:
She should do it but I'll be honest. It makes me crazy when she cleans it because the kid couldn't organize her way out of a wet paper bag. So I am going in there tomorrow and junking/tossing/donating some stuff, rearranging her closet and drawers and seeing if I can get under the bed.

I am the same way- I just cleaned our storage room in the basement. Not a fun job, but it killed a couple hours :) DS's room was yesterday. His room actually isn't that bad, for a teenage boy. But we did have to clean the snake cage. Ew!

I am on a pretty low-sodium diet (kidney stone issues) and I was totally bummed about it until my urologist reminded me that both chocolate and beer are pretty low in sodium. I knew there was a reason I liked him :rotfl2:

Lol I'm in the same boat. I cleaned, organized, and folded all of the laundry. Today I started throwing clothes in the suitcases that I knew/didn't care if it got wrinkled lol. The rest of the week, I'll be ironing, cleaning (yes again lol), and packing to make the next 3 days go by super fast (except for Wednesday since its my last day with all of the kiddies that I've had for the past six years. It's gonna be a rough day lol), and then we leave bright and early Thursday morning!!

I try to make sure everything is spotless before we leave for vacations because a.) it makes me feel better that when we get home, all I have to do is laundry. b.) it feels good to come home to a clean house. And c.) when my mom takes care of our cat, she tends to clean while she's here so I try to get it all done to avoid that from happening even though she usually still finds something like wash and iron the curtains while we were on our honeymoon lol

Your DD's room sounds like both of my DD's room (they share a room). I tell them to clean their room and make their beds. Well, sure they do do those things but they fail to realize that the corners of the room and inside their drawers need to be cleaned out too...not stuffed to the gills with the things that was in the middle of the floor :sad2:.

I'm sorry for those that have to see our tickers when they come back, but still :goodvibes

That actually sounds like a good plan. For some strange reason I always wait until the last week or so to start organizing and getting everything ready to go, and by the time the night before we leave comes, I am a ragging maniac. My family is going to thank you later for this :goodvibes.

Ok guys, I need some mucho WDW enthusiasm. My inlaws just left and I'm seriously doubting this trip now. Help! Tell me we'll have fun! Puleese! We leave in 2 1/2 weeks and I was incredibly excited. Now I'm doubting everything.

I am resisting the urge to buy things for the trip. I don't *need* a single thing for the trip, but when it gets close I always *want* things. Like clothes.. or new luggage:rolleyes1
I won't buy anything but I am definitely requesting luggage for Christmas this year.

I think I'll make my grocery and to-do lists today. Oh and I have to go to the bank tomorrow and renew our travellers health insurance.

I know...I just bought the new luggage set. My best purchase has been my new walking shoes. They are Easy Spirit Reinvent. I saw them on the Dis. They are so comfortable and lightweight! Here is a link: http://www.goodhousekeeping.com/pro...walking-sneakers-easy-spirit-reinvent#slide-2

I did it guys! I finished my first 5K obstacle course, and boy it was a doozy. We were chased by zombies the majority of the time, had to run up and down hills on a motocross track, go through mazes in darkness, crawl not once, but twice under objects in ankle deep stinky mud, slide down a water slide into 4 feet of disgusting water, and navigate trails through the woods with rocks, holes and rivets in the ground. It was a serious challenge, no matter what your skill level. It was 97 degrees at 2 in the afternoon, which was a record high for here in this area in Washington. Keep in mind, we rarely hit 80. I kept telling my friend Carrie that it was just preparing me for Orlando heat and it was probably good for me. In the pics, I'm on the right in each.

Congrats! That is so much fun! We did the Warrior dash last year and had a blast. What race did you do where there were zombies? I want to try that! haha! I am beginning training for a Disney race!

You will have a great time no matter what!!! It's Disney, how could it be bad! (If it does get bad, post here and I will bring cocktails- I think you are at POR the same time as us! haha)

Random Question. I found this and I want to do something like this when we are down there.

Do you think the photopass photographers will take our picture holding something up?

Hey everyone!

I booked a solo trip for August 24th through August 28th. It's also my first trip to Disney World in over 15 years. (Last time I was there, was when I was 9).

I'm hoping to see and do a lot, but most of all I'm looking to have a good time. I decided to do the trip as both a birthday gift to myself, as well as a present to myself for getting into Nursing school. Think those are good excuses to use, but overall I just want to live the magic again.

Hope everyone has a fun and safe trip when they go themselves!

You are so on!! I'll use the excuse that I have to do laundry (very plausible since our washer just died!).

DH had to go lie-down after they all left. They are great people(love DBiL's family) but they do things so differently and it annoys me. miL is the matriarch in every sense and treats her kids as "kids" even though they are all in their 30’s. this grates on me since I was raised to be independent and make my own decisions. It'll be 13 of us in Disney: my 2 kids & DH, and 9 in-laws. I may need daily "cocktail" times to stay sane and married!

Yes, it's ONE snack credit! They have them at Storybook Sweets in MK from what they say on the blog.

I seriously need to get one!

don't know about where you are but the banks here are closed tomorrow for Natal Day, i think its most of Canada

Oh my, I was just taking a look at the Disney Food Blog to get some ideas on how to use our snack credits this year. Previously we had usually stopped at DTD on the day of our departure to use our credits by getting candy/fudge and such to take home. Honestly, I think the only reason why we have done this in the past is we are usually so full from using our counter and table service credits that we forget that we even have the snack credits! Well this year, after reading about all the delicious snacks we can get, I doubt that will happen. Just looking at this ice cream sundae from MK has my mouth watering. Yummy!

Congrats on getting into Nursing school! Hope you have a great trip! :goodvibes

Thanks Ginny! I totally forgot about that!:headache:

I think I can renew it online too. Maybe I will try that first.

The minute you step foot on Disney property you will know you made the right decision. I always tend to second guess myself when making big decisions such as vacation plans. My annual trip to Disney has become my therapy and is more than worth the price paid. I spend months getting excited and meeting wonderful people, like the ones on this thread. When I get back I have amazing memories that will last forever! So to me it's an investment into my mental health ;)

Get that excitement back, you're going to Disneyworld!!!

Haha, thats too funny!
My sister is pretty good but my brother still has not mastered the art of room cleaning. This weekend we asked him to clean his room before they leave for camp in the morning. Went into his room today and it looked really clean - floor, table, even closet. Later on today we were vacuuming and went under the bed... Well be hit a brick wall. It is astonishing how much he was able to fit under his toddler bed (yes he still has a toddler bed, he refuses to part with it - he's tiny and says its "too cozy to get rid of").
