I finally got my replacement ME package today. First one had us arriving at AKL and not All Stars Music(we move to AKL after 2 days.)

My question- there is a Large Green circle on the tag with AK on it and its the same on both AKL and ASMu tags- is that an error and indicating AKL still? I am concerned but below it it still says All stars music. I dont recall that when we traveled last year and dont think ME tag is still on my suit cases.


Also, My final YES confirmation came today, and it lists DH middle name as Ross. That is NOT his middle name and in my orig confirmation, I dont even have middle name listed. I emailed them.


I always have an issue with my disney Docs. Last time they removed yds from everything since he was free, including my flight info and ME.

Yes, we are staying at Pop for the first 2 days and our tags say AK. Its the area that it indicates. Our POR tags say DD for downtownDisney. Its just the area.

Y'all, this has been the LONGEST DAY already and it's barely even started!! It's 4:40pm on the east coast, but where my sweetie is in CA, he's only been there a little over 2 hours and his meetings go through 5:30 and then dinner afterward. Then he goes to the airport, takes the red-eye back to NYC and has to be at work Wednesday morning. With the time difference it will probably be after 1am here before he's able to call me and give me details!

The waiting is making me practically bonkers!!! He just texted me to say the day is going well and I about jumped out of my chair when my phone went off.

By the time this is all over I'll definitely need a vacation! Thank goodness we leave next week.

The green AK just indicates that it is an AK area resort...all the AS resorts are, as well as AKL/AKV...and I guess CSR but I don't remember?

So they called. Apparently it wasn't going to be an "ok here's the job" phone call. It was an ok come interview with the assistant superintendent. So I have to go next Tuesday at 9. So we'll see! From what my teacher said that usually means I got it. She said I was probably recommended by the other two I interviewed with so they are probably gonna offer it to me that day. She said they don't wanna waste their time lol. But I'm going to go in there ready and willing to show my skills. You never know what their intentions are with these types of things. Thanks everyone for the pixie dust!! Please send some more my way next Tuesday lol

Of course!!! The more the merrier.....we are August 2012 Disers (is there a link out there somewhere???) and the first post in this thread is very important.....you will need your Mickey heads!!!! and we will need to know your resort, your days, ADR's and park days.....Then there is a joining fee..... Just kidding about the joining fee!!!!

DH had the surgery on both hands. His left (non-dominant) side took a little longer to heal. I think in both cases he was back to work in 6 weeks. I'll ask him tonight and will post if he answers differently.

He has it in both, left side is much worse but he's right handed so I was a bit surprised about that. I'll be lucky if he misses 6 days of work...6 weeks definitely won't be happening! Thankfully he's home right now and work has been "quiet" for the most part.

WOW, there are a lot of shortys around here. Just means I am in good company. I am 5' even! My DH is 6'1" (married him to reach high shelves and such ) My DS is as tall as I am right now, that could change at any moment though knowing him. My DD is striving to get to my height really soon.

Both of my older boys are taller than me at this point and find it highly amusing to stand at the cabinet holding onto whatever I asked for and say stuff like "Are you sure you want this?" or "Don't you wish you could reach this?" and then I'll say "Wouldn't you like to eat dinner?" or some other sarcastic reply!

I know Ive seen them -when Im NOT looking for them- but for the life of me I cant find any Disney window clings. I plan on decorating (just a little) our resort window/door. Specifically Im looking for Princess and the Frog clings for our room at POR and the Fab Five for Pop. Ive never decorated before-I just want to try it once. Anyone seen any clings anywhere at a dept store??? I dont have a Disney store around here anymore.

I'll check Dollar Tree and Walmart since I'm heading there in a bit.

I am 5'3. My DH is almost 6'4". He is the handy-dandiest fellow to have around when I need something off the top shelf. But one has to be very specific with instructions when he's swinging a hammer to hang something on the wall at "eye level". His "eye level" and mine are a foot apart!

LOL!! Yep, DH's eye level and mine are two different things!!

My DS really hit a growth spurt at age 14- he's grown almost 8 inches in the last 14-15 months. Went from 5'4 to almost 6'. Enjoy the brief time where you can look your DS in the eye- you'll be looking up to him in no time!

DS just went into size 15 shoes. I told him that his shoe size does NOT need to keep up with his age It is seriously so hard to find shoes for him. Instead of picking what style he likes, we have to just find all the size 15s and pick from the 1 or 2 styles that they have that big. The Nike outlet seems to have the best selection for him. Oh, and he's cramming into size 14 water shoes because I just bought them for him in April (before he went to size 15) and am not buying another pair!

Crazy on the shoe size!! My oldest needed size 13 cleats and thankfully Dick's Sporting Goods had up to size 15 in stock in 3 or 4 different brands.

On August 18, 21 of us will be on the same plane going to Disney World!

I am also taking some of my best friends to Disney for their first time and am wondering,(since it says the board is very active), what should we do to make it special for them? They want to make corny t-shirts and we already have a countdown...

Fun!! You should totally make some shirts! At least for one day. That would be a super cute pic!!

Just got home from a VERY long and nerve racking day. The Department of Health survey is kinda like our olympics in long term care. I work all year to insure the residents on my floor are well taken care of and to insure the survey goes smoothly to avoid any deficiencies for the facility. Having the survey fall soon before our annual trip to Disney is both good and bad. It's good because once its over I get to go to my happy place. It's bad because I'm always afraid I may have to cancel the trip because they come too late! I'm soooooooooooo happy that they walked in this morning. I nearly kissed the first surveyor who came on to my floor!

Now I can finally put all of my energy toward looking forward to our trip....well, after they leave on Monday I can. Thanks again to everyone who either said a prayer or sent some pixie dust our way. It worked!!!

To celebrate I just added another ADR to our itinerary. I added Akershus for breakfast on 9/1 at 9:40am to our already existing ADR's. We have never eaten there before and I am really looking forward to it after reading some great reviews about breakfast there. I just love the princesses and character dining in general!

I also ordered Photopass+ since my DS is joining my DD and I this year. I spent a small fortune on Photopass pictures last year between Chef Mickey's, rides and the pics scattered around the parks. I figured we could get some great pictures of the three of us together this year.

I laugh every time I look at that one. DS has never been on it so it will be interesting to see how he reacts!

I'm so glad that the Olympics are coming up in a few days so it will help make the time go by faster. So much better than reruns!

I didn't see my resort on the resort list yet but we are staying at AK.

Man, I hate it when real life responsibilities get in the way of having fun!!! Here's hoping you can hang on to that February getaway since it will be your last for a while.

This Christmas trip will likely be our final big trip for the next couple of years. DS is entering grade 11 in September so he only has two years left of secondary school. That means college or university as early as 2014......and a big bite out of the family finances. Time to amp up the education savings whenever possible.

I have a dd who is 15 and only has 3 years to go and there is a strong possibility dh will need us to move a little closer for his new job. The good news is that he is guaranteed a position somewhere. The bad news is, the closer you get to the GTA, the more these positions pay. So we have some big decisions to make and a dd going off to school all in the next few years and it's time to really tighten our belts to put us all in the best position possible.
Even dd has started saving just over half of what she makes for school now.
It's unbelievable to me that I have a kid who needs to start planning for University. Where does the time go?

I put in a few different days and was able to book an 11:30 adr for August 18! Yahoo! When I went to book it, the Disney page had an issue and it seemed like I lost it. I tried a few more times and it worked! Yeah!

I'm trying to lose a few pounds, too. I have more than a few to lose, but I'd be happy with 8-10lbs by then. Trying to stick to an attainable goal. that'd be 2lbs per week. I am on week 5 of the Couch to 5K program and finally am starting to feel like it's making a difference. I also try to walk for an hour on the other days when I don't do the Couch to 5K.
