****OFFICIAL August, 2012 (PART 2)****

WOW, there are a lot of shortys around here. Just means I am in good company. I am 5' even! My DH is 6'1" (married him to reach high shelves and such :lmao:) My DS is as tall as I am right now, that could change at any moment though knowing him. My DD is striving to get to my height really soon. :rotfl:

DARNIT!@!!! Should have thought about the benefits of marrying a tall person (shelves, etc) BEFORE I married Peter! (He's 5'7"!!!) :rotfl2:

I know Ive seen them -when Im NOT looking for them- but for the life of me I cant find any Disney window clings. I plan on decorating (just a little) our resort window/door. Specifically Im looking for Princess and the Frog clings for our room at POR and the Fab Five for Pop. Ive never decorated before-I just want to try it once. Anyone seen any clings anywhere at a dept store??? I dont have a Disney store around here anymore.

GINA!!! Been missing you, girl! Come play with us more often!!! And why would you ever think Pigletto would change her mind? I mean really! :rotfl2:

I have no idea what has happened to my neatly organized life over the last few weeks, but I've become completely unravelled and very inefficient. Let's blame it on the heat :faint:. Then I made it back over and there's almost 40 pages on a brand new thread for us Augustites  .

I think I need a vacation. Oh wait, it won't be long now! :hyper:

I'm not even going to try and figure out what I've missed....I think I'll just try and keep up from here :thumbsup2 .

DARNIT!@!!! Should have thought about the benefits of marrying a tall person (shelves, etc) BEFORE I married Peter! (He's 5'7"!!!) :rotfl2:

I am 5'3. My DH is almost 6'4". He is the handy-dandiest fellow to have around when I need something off the top shelf. But one has to be very specific with instructions when he's swinging a hammer to hang something on the wall at "eye level". His "eye level" and mine are a foot apart! :bitelip:

I think we have it easier being short than the guys do at being super big. My DH's big frame are supported by feet that are a size 14, and we had to order water shoes for him for this trip from Ohio......you just can't get them in our little neck of the woods in a size that large. I had 100 different pair to choose from in my size 7.5!

Did you try Googling them? It's worth a shot! :confused3

You could try a teacher supply store if you have one of those. Places like that usually have lots of window clings. Target sells wall clings...hrmm. You may just have to order some online.

Has anyone made a personalized vacation planning video? I was just wandering the disney site and found it. I wonder if its any different from the one they sent us already....

Do you post pics of autograph books? I would love to see. I've always wanted to make them because I am obsessed with characters to say the least!

I'm debating making them for my girls, but we usually just buy the park books. I would love some advice!

Thanks,
Melanie

I am just printing them off as 4x6 pictures and slipping them into small albums. When we get home I will print off a picture of them with the character and put everything into a larger album.

Woohoo!!! :cool1: Fantastic news, pigletto! Glad to hear your boy is doing better.....now let the Disney excitement begin :) .

And hey.....I haven't been over to this thread much lately, but I notice the second ticker in your signature suggests you deferred your originally-planned Christmas trip. Did I miss yet another modification to your resort/date/plan? ;)

:rotfl2: Nope. I just slipped that one in quietly. Actually the Feb. trip was always a plan, which was changed to Christmas briefly, and then changed back.
It's the last hurrah with these Annual Passes. We will absolutely not be renewing.
The vacation budget is being absorbed by the "The Pigletto family is saving for a new house and to move" budget.

Dh was even saying last night that we should maybe forgo the February trip. Not sure about that yet but that will be the last one for awhile.

See I am short and small footed. I wear a 5 1/2 or 6, depending on the cut and make of the shoe. Thankfully my DH doesn't have a huge foot. He only wears an 11/12. Now my lovely children that is crazy. My DS, we went shopping in march for sneakers for him and seriously, he is a mens 7.5 already and only 13 years old. Yikes! Then my daughter needed to run outside quickly for something in like May and found my flip flops that I bought thinking I wouldn't mind wearing (they were $2 from Old Navy and no I can't stand them so DD got them :confused3). She put them on and they fit really well, they are 5s. She wears a 3kids size. She will outsize my foot very soon! I will be the smallest in the family soon. Now if the scale would make me the smallest as well, it would all be good!!!:lmao: :rotfl2: :rolleyes1

Man, I hate it when real life responsibilities get in the way of having fun!!! Here's hoping you can hang on to that February getaway since it will be your last for a while.

This Christmas trip will likely be our final big trip for the next couple of years. DS is entering grade 11 in September so he only has two years left of secondary school. That means college or university as early as 2014......and a big bite out of the family finances. Time to amp up the education savings whenever possible.

You may find that you get to go through the family line for security, which helps some:) Are you renting a car when you are there?

We are renting a car because we are staying off site.

My sweetie departs any minute from JFK to CA for meetings re: Job #2. Any positive thoughts or good vibes would be appreciated!! I expect by the time we leave for the Caribbean next Wednesday I'll know where we'll be living. :woohoo: Then I get to start the negotiations to work for my company both part time and remotely. I've been there 12 years and I'm now a co-owner, so I expect that they'll do what they can to make it work. (An explicit part of the owner expectations document is that we don't have to live in the city where the company is based.) It is going to be shocking to a lot of people, though...and I'm not really looking forward to that part. :(

sending lots of good vibes!

Department of Health showed up this morning. No more worrying about having to cancel now. 34 days to go!!!

So glad they showed up and that you wont have to cancel.

I feel like a giant compared to all of you. I'm just a hair shy of 6 feet and wear a size 11 or 12 shoe makes shoe shopping interesting.

My DS really hit a growth spurt at age 14- he's grown almost 8 inches in the last 14-15 months. Went from 5'4 to almost 6'. Enjoy the brief time where you can look your DS in the eye- you'll be looking up to him in no time!

DS just went into size 15 shoes. I told him that his shoe size does NOT need to keep up with his age :rotfl2: It is seriously so hard to find shoes for him. Instead of picking what style he likes, we have to just find all the size 15s and pick from the 1 or 2 styles that they have that big. The Nike outlet seems to have the best selection for him. Oh, and he's cramming into size 14 water shoes because I just bought them for him in April (before he went to size 15) and am not buying another pair!

On August 18, 21 of us will be on the same plane going to Disney World!
August 18-MK
August 19-AK
August 20-Epcot
August 21-DHS
August 22- Universal Studios.. :rolleyes1
August 23-DHS
August 24-MK
August 25-Epcot
August 26-MK/Home

Some places we plan on eating is Flying Fish, Via Napoli(we are 100% Italians and hope the pizza is better then my uncle's home made pizza), Boma's(my favorite) and Chef Mickey's(for the little kids)

I am also taking some of my best friends to Disney for their first time and am wondering,(since it says the board is very active), what should we do to make it special for them? :confused3 They want to make corny t-shirts and we already have a countdown...

Even though I am only 5'5", I wear size 10 and 11's. My foot isn't wide, just regular old medium width. I just tell people my body got confused and went out instead of up.

We have had the same discussion about hanging pictures! :lmao: I don't know if you saw my post- but my husband is 6'6- buying clothes and shoes are a nightmare! He has a hard time finding things that fit.

6'6"? :scared1: Oh, you poor woman. I know the the clothing trouble we have at 6'4, so I can totally feel your pain.

I must say, though, that you guys in the USA have it way easier for larger sizes than we do here in Canada. We were able to walk into so many stores in January and find stuff to fit DH (not just squeeze him into). Fashionable, normal, name-brand stuff. How nice to have easier access to sizes bigger than a normal XL.
