****OFFICIAL August, 2012 (PART 2)****

So, here I am and I am bored! I have all but 2 things packed in the suitcases. So that is great. My DH has said 4 times to me today that I need to figure out what I am using as my carryon for the flight. I just don't know and I can't get into figuring it out either. What is wrong with me?
I did get cleaning done, called the parents to ask them to pick up a case of water for us and we coordinated our times for our dinners and our meets while we are in Disney.
We have to pick up DH's car tomorrow and do a mini grocery shop for our partial week here.
My car goes for inspection on Tuesday (take it in Monday night). A little pixie dust would be most welcome that it doesn't break the bank.
Daughter has gymnastics on Monday and Wednesday.
Chiropractor on Wednesday for me and DD.
Checks cashed for cash on hand and gift cards organized.
Must call Limo company to confirm reservations for departure date and time (4:30am ).

I think that is it. No, I am sure that is not it, but whatever I am missing, I just can't think of now. I said to my mom on the phone that my brain feels like it's misfiring and not connecting. I feel so scatter brained. UGH!!!

HELP!!!!!

I haven't gotten to read through the whole thread, and I hope everyone is doing well and having fun or getting ready to have fun!!!

Hope you don't mind- just have to cry a little here....I got new tires on Monday, hit a curb today and have to replace one already....waahhhhhh!!!! I swear I am not a bad driver, it was an accident. Please keep your fingers crossed that it can be replaced on Monday-- I am booked on the 7:30 am ferry out of here on Tuesday, then driving all the way to Orlando!

Taking a deep breath....it will all work out because I am going to Disney, right?

Sorry I haven't posted, it's been really crazy here. Found out DH needs a revision knee surgery.

Had a great time at WDW first week of August. Loved staying at the ASMu. Still going through all my photos. But this is by far my fav of my DD at BBB.

I just noticed that the hours changed for the 2nd. EMH till 2am???? YAY! My "kids" are older (23 and 17) so I am sure they will be dragging me around until two in the morning...lol :rotfl2:

Today is online check-in day. I'm still debating if I am going to do it or not. I wish all of my "problems" were this simple. :rolleyes1

10 more days!!!!

So did you decide to do online check-in? We did ours for our Poly part of our trip and will be able to do it again on Tuesday for our BLT portion of our stay. I am so excited to say that in about an hour we will be in single digits....I am so ready to be doing my single digit dance :cool1:.

Doing the single digit dance today woohoo! :dancer:

Still haven't done online check in. We really need a 1st floor room due to the ECV. None of my other requests are as important. I just don't want to be dealing with the elevator at POR. I'm afraid we will get there and be assigned to an upper floor room if we check in online. I do plan on sending a fax 4 days before we leave like I have done previously. We have always gotten our request by doing that so I'm not sure why I'm worried! That being said, I am busting to do it so I may give in. I think I need psychological help lol:confused3

What a great picture! She is beautiful. Glad you had a good time. Hope your husbands surgery goes smoothly!

Beyond excited! Exactly 3 days from now we should be landing at MCO! Still have so much to do but hopefully that will make the time fly by.

It's pretty funny, we've talked to so many people in the past couple weeks that will be there at the same time as us. Off the top of my head I can think of 9 families that we know. :scared1:The past 3 times we've gone in late August crowds have been great, hope it's the same this year.

I went to visit my Dad's grave this afternoon, which was something else I wanted to do before we left. Its been a month or so since I was last there, and it was just something I "needed" today (weird, I know.....but he shared my love of travelling and I guess I just wanted him to know where I'd be headed soon). I have felt a little more peaceful about the week ahead this evening, so I will chalk that up to Dad's influence :) .

Oh.....and by the way.....you SEW?!?!? Sheesh, woman, would you be like the rest of us sorry excuses for mothers and just take your stuff to the dry cleaners? (or the mom-in-law? lucky you, by the way) . You make me feel inferior :rotfl2: . Couldn't sew on a button if I tried. Hemming pants!?!?! Not a chance. :rolleyes1

I'm glad you got a chance to go sit with your Dad for a bit
And no, I don't really sew which is why I'm going to have to ask my mother in law to re-do the hems that fell apart:rotfl:

I'm not too worried about crowds because like you this week has been good to us in the past. Plus the crowd prediction calendars look good as well. We've also gone during weeks that were busier than this one is (late April and Mid February) and didn't find it bad at all, so even if it got up around 6's it's not too bad. And the crowd calendars only have the Sunday and Monday of Labor Day weekend as 6's so far. We should be good.:)

I'm going to join in on your single digit dance too if you don't mind :dancer:party::jumping1:

I think today is the day that we are finally going to take down the suitcases from the attic. I have already started washing our clothes for the trip, but of course there are always those little few pieces of clothing that get left behind and have to be saved for another washing. I already made piles of clothes that my kids are going to wear and told them that whatever is in those piles they are not to touch until we are in Disney. Sad thing is, they have so many clothes to begin with that it doesn't affect them....me, on the other hand, I will have to wait until the last minute to do mine because I don't have nearly as much as they do. Is it sad that whenever I try to go out shopping for myself that I end up buying for my kids instead? :sad2:

Nope..it's a mom thing. Besides, I never like how anything looks on me these days so it's more fun to shop for the kids:rolleyes1

I'm ok with lines around the block for TSM during EMH. The crowds just better stay away from ToT!

When we were in HS last Sunday, ToT had a maximum of a 15 minute wait all day. We rode it 3 times. Star Tours was the same way and we FP RnRC twice. By the time we had to check in for Fantasmic (we had the dinner package), we did everything multiple times with the exception of Toy Story which we just did once with the FP lol. That also included seeing Little Mermaid, Light, Motor, Action, and Disney Animation (which DH and I always stay for the drawing class to see who drew the picture better lol).

She is so beautiful! I am glad you have a great trip.

I'm already going through withdrawal. Well, I was going through withdrawal once we boarded ME to go home lol. However, DH and I decided there may not be too many August trips in our future :( even though we've done August before, it was entirely way too hot this time. Who knows, I say this now and the next time we go it'll be in August lol. I hope everyone has a good trip! While you are there, try the Mickey head rice krispie treats with chocolate and peanut butter chips on them. Mmmmmm delicious lol. I think I found my replacement to my peanut butter cookie obsession lol

OMG I can't believe it! In 9 days I will finally be in florida! :cool1: I feel like there is so much that has to be done still, but it really isn't that much. Just picking up a few last minuted needed supplies and packing and I'm ready.

Is it just me or does anyone else get really nervous a week before they leave for disney?

Just found this thread! August is my fav time to go!! We leave in 5 days I can't wait!! hoping for low crowds and not too much rain!!

Ok August trip goers.. I have a funny story.

Back in the Spring I remember reading the names for the 2012 Atlantic Storm Season. They name them at the start of the season, though many of them never come to pass. They also go in alphabetical order.

One of the storms was named Isaac. I distinctly remember saying to my husband "If any storm is going to screw up our August trip that will be the one" and we laughed.
You see, I have a little brother named Isaac who I love to pieces. I am quite a bit older than him and used to babysit him all the time. He was TROUBLE. He locked himself in the bathroom once and painted himself blue with HOUSE PAINT. He would collect a bucket of snakes (we lived on a farm) and chase me with him. He once got stuck so far in a tree while I was babysitting I had to call the fire department.:rolleyes1

He's 18 now and an awesome guy but boy does he love to get to me.

Anyway.. the point of this long story. I've been checking the Alantic Hurricane watch. There's a storm forming out there. It's not named yet, might never make it to a hurricane, and who knows where it will track to. But yep.. you guessed it.. if it becomes a hurricane.. it will be Isaac.:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

How did I know?:rolleyes1

Ugh I been watching that one too! Even the tracking models can't quite keep up with it. According to the Weather Channel:
- For the Isaac wannabe currently in the eastern Atlantic, various runs of various forecast models have shown in the long range everything from a hurricane raking the entire coast from Florida to New England, to a storm moving harmlessly out to sea in the Atlantic, to barely more than a tropical wave in the Gulf of Mexico. One must be careful to not overreact to each run of every model. Let's see what the trends are like over the next day or two -- plenty of time yet to prepare if it ends up being a significant threat to the Caribbean or other land areas downstream from there.

In the meantime, the system continues moving very quickly toward the west, and although it's spinning on satellite loops, there has not yet been a lot of persistent deep convection (thunderstorms); analyses show the atmosphere over the tropical Atlantic is more stable than average for this time of year. Thus in addition to the track questions, there is also intensity uncertainty.

Here's to hoping it only ends up as the bolded part !!!
