****OFFICIAL August, 2012 (PART 2)****

I've kind of resigned myself to the fact that 4 of my seven days will be total wash outs. This way, if it does pan out that way I'm not disappointed. If if doesn't happen that way, then it's pixie dust. pixiedust:

At least there are no signs of a hurricane :confused3

Anyway.. the point of this long story. I've been checking the Alantic Hurricane watch. There's a storm forming out there. It's not named yet, might never make it to a hurricane, and who knows where it will track to. But yep.. you guessed it.. if it becomes a hurricane.. it will be Isaac.:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

How did I know?:rolleyes1

Great story! Here's hoping that the only Hurricane Isaac you have to worry about will be the one you have at home :rotfl: . I must ask, though.......how long did it take the blue house paint to wear off his skin? And how did your mom react to that little endeavour?

I have just started to watch the weather now, even though I know it will change many times between today and next weekend. Oddly enough, each of the major weather websites seems to have a completely different version of what the weather will be like. One says rain every day, one said "more sun than cloud" most days, yet another said sun with afternoon thunderstorms. I think I will pick the one that offers the most favourable forecast and go with that one :beach: .

Most do say that we might be seeing below average highs (still in the high 80's to 90, but not much above that.....and the statistical average daily high is 93). That would be nice!! :cool2:

Ok August trip goers.. I have a funny story.

Back in the Spring I remember reading the names for the 2012 Atlantic Storm Season. They name them at the start of the season, though many of them never come to pass. They also go in alphabetical order.

One of the storms was named Isaac. I distinctly remember saying to my husband "If any storm is going to screw up our August trip that will be the one" and we laughed.
You see, I have a little brother named Isaac who I love to pieces. I am quite a bit older than him and used to babysit him all the time. He was TROUBLE. He locked himself in the bathroom once and painted himself blue with HOUSE PAINT. He would collect a bucket of snakes (we lived on a farm) and chase me with him. He once got stuck so far in a tree while I was babysitting I had to call the fire department.:rolleyes1

He's 18 now and an awesome guy but boy does he love to get to me.

That is so funny, your brother sounds like both of mine....which BTW are much younger then me, and I too had to babysit them which they always seemed to gang up on me as well :rotfl:. They are of course both older now (the youngest is 25) and we all are very close and still like to pick on each other.

As for the Hurricane, I never even thought about checking the weather. I think I need to start getting on the ball with that :lmao:.

So, I went out and bought a new suitcase for our trip today, a 28" up right, because all of our large suitcases have a lot of wear and tear on them and as DH was up in the attic he said that we should just go ahead and get a new one. So DD11 and I went out shopping for one and found a Samsonite for 50% off at Kohl's plus I had a coupon for an extra 20% off of that. Now that the suit cases are all down from the attic and we have this new larger one, plus the 2 piles of clothes from my kids are in my room....my room is really starting to get smaller and smaller :rotfl:.

No worries, It's all of us, well at least all of us who are excited enough to find these boards...ha ha ha
9 days for us too! Aug 28th, POFQ till 9/5

Lol we are arriving at POFQ on the 28th too! Not till around 11 pm though but that's not the important part! We are leaving on sept 2nd though.

Online check in day and still debating to do or not to do??? Oh well 10 days:)

Here's hoping that the weather is favourable. I dont mind some afternoon showers but wash outs will not be good! Have been planning this trip for too long to let rain ruin it plus it will wreck my Tevas :lmao:
Hoping everyones trip has happy weather pixiedust:

On another note we are currently singing and dancing to every Disney CD we could find!
"Look for the barenecessities the simply barenecessities forget about your worry and your strife" lalala :dance3:

I'm going to join in on your single digit dance too if you don't mind :dancer:party::jumping1:

I think today is the day that we are finally going to take down the suitcases from the attic. I have already started washing our clothes for the trip, but of course there are always those little few pieces of clothing that get left behind and have to be saved for another washing. I already made piles of clothes that my kids are going to wear and told them that whatever is in those piles they are not to touch until we are in Disney. Sad thing is, they have so many clothes to begin with that it doesn't affect them....me, on the other hand, I will have to wait until the last minute to do mine because I don't have nearly as much as they do. Is it sad that whenever I try to go out shopping for myself that I end up buying for my kids instead? :sad2:

I have always been the same way! Even now, with my kids being older and both of them employed I still do it! Maybe someday we can go into a store and get something for us lol.

Today is my birthday had a great day. Church, family time and only 5 more days until we leave for Disney. Life is good! Now if I can get through the next four days. I want it to come yet I want to enjoy this time because I know what it will be like to come home.

LOL :rotfl2:

Do me a favor and tell him to stay away from Orlando!!!

:) WE ARE LEAVING FOR BUFFALO TOMORROW AND THEN FLYING OUT TO DISNEY ON TUESDAY MORNING! EEP! :goodvibes

It is so hard trying to get my stuff ready. The kids have been staying up later than normal. So then I have to stay up late, to get stuff done. I hope surprising them is worth the late nights.

So we fly out Wednesday morning. I figure as long as we have clothes, we will be ok.

Heym didn't have time to read everything but just checking in....we are at our first hotel!!!!! :dance3:

Making it until 1am is nothing to sneeze about, especially since you hade been up since 6am and done 2 parks!!!

We are hoping for much smaller crowds by the time we leave. Historically the crowds drop dramatically during the last week of August. Touring plans has our week rated at 1 out of 10 for crowds on quite a few of our days. Last year we wandered around HS on an EMH night and it was actually weird because no one else was on the streets of New York. I have a video of it somewhere, I have to look for it. We went on Star Tours 3 times in a row because it was a walk on. I hope it's the same way this year!

That's wat I'm hoping for!

So, here I am and I am bored! I have all but 2 things packed in the suitcases. So that is great. My DH has said 4 times to me today that I need to figure out what I am using as my carryon for the flight. I just don't know and I can't get into figuring it out either. What is wrong with me?
I did get cleaning done, called the parents to ask them to pick up a case of water for us and we coordinated our times for our dinners and our meets while we are in Disney.
We have to pick up DH's car tomorrow and do a mini grocery shop for our partial week here.
My car goes for inspection on Tuesday (take it in Monday night). A little pixie dust would be most welcome that it doesn't break the bank.
Daughter has gymnastics on Monday and Wednesday.
Chiropractor on Wednesday for me and DD.
Checks cashed for cash on hand and gift cards organized.
Must call Limo company to confirm reservations for departure date and time (4:30am ).

I think that is it. No, I am sure that is not it, but whatever I am missing, I just can't think of now. I said to my mom on the phone that my brain feels like it's misfiring and not connecting. I feel so scatter brained. UGH!!!

HELP!!!!!

LOL! I feel the same way!

Sorry I haven't posted, it's been really crazy here. Found out DH needs a revision knee surgery.

Had a great time at WDW first week of August. Loved staying at the ASMu. Still going through all my photos. But this is by far my fav of my DD at BBB.

what an absolutely gorgeous pic that just captures her joy

I'm already going through withdrawal. Well, I was going through withdrawal once we boarded ME to go home lol. However, DH and I decided there may not be too many August trips in our future :( even though we've done August before, it was entirely way too hot this time. Who knows, I say this now and the next time we go it'll be in August lol. I hope everyone has a good trip! While you are there, try the Mickey head rice krispie treats with chocolate and peanut butter chips on them. Mmmmmm delicious lol. I think I found my replacement to my peanut butter cookie obsession lol

Mmmm..I'll have to hunt for this.

OMG I can't believe it! In 9 days I will finally be in florida! :cool1: I feel like there is so much that has to be done still, but it really isn't that much. Just picking up a few last minuted needed supplies and packing and I'm ready.

Is it just me or does anyone else get really nervous a week before they leave for disney?

I started freaking out last Friday. Now I'm just 3 days out....yikes!!!

Looks like we might have some leftover water and snacks when we leave on the 26th. If you are at AoA or Pop and are willing to pick it up if we end up having leftovers, they are all yours for free. Send me a PM if interested and we can figure things out.
