We're toying with booking a trip August 5-11 (yes...in just over a month..we're crazy!) and I've got a question.

What's the deal with the free dining thing? I'm guessing I'm past some deadline for that because I see nothing about it on the WDW booking site.

What is it exactly and what do you know about it? Any help would be appreciated

Yes, it is too late. The promotion ended 6/24 and many dates were sold out before then, because there was limited availability. It wasn't good during the period you are thinking about going, anyway - it was for the end of August (beginning 8/26 this year, last year it was about a week earlier) through 9/22. It's a way to help Disney fill rooms during one of their slower seasons.

What it is - you book a room at the rack rate, and Disney gives you a free Disney Dinining Plan (one TS, one CS, one snack) per day for everyone in your room. You also have to buy at least a one-day MYW ticket. We were able to get it this year and I'm looking forward to eating better than we usually do at WDW.

Well by choice we chose to go to Disney when it is hot.
You see after the winter we had record snow storms, records snow days off school. we thought it would be fun to once again hit the warm Florida sun at the hottest time of year. We have always done Disney in August and survived Hurricaine Charlie at the Wilderness Lodge, so, bring the heat on.
Besides we will be celebrating our 16th anniversary on August 10th. so we have a lot of good reasons to go. Besides I remember the air conditioner works quite well in all the buildings.

Booked for August 13-21 at POP then on to AKL for 2 nights~a surprise for our DS. Can't wait. The Florida box has been opened and packing of some items has begun.

We will be there then too! POP Aug. 14-21. DD8 and DD6 dont know about the trip! They are going to find out when we get on the plane! 25 days left!!!!!!!
