s and we will be on the Dream April 18-21st for our son’s first cruise! I was able to make our ADRs over the weekend and got everything we wanted!
]

OMG, I found someone else who will be on that cruise! :cool1: I thought I was going to be the only one on it! :rotfl: Which cabin are you in? We're in 7xxx, I don't know off the top of my head. I want to say 7678 or something like that. This is our first DCL and only our 2nd cruise ever. It will be the kids' first cruise.

Here's a link to the Meet thread, once we find a few more people, maybe it will liven up a bit.

ut I have not given up hope. We utilize park character breakfasts to gain early access to the park and complete our meal just prior to rope drop. Our 4 year old loves the characters and we get a head start on the day.

that's what I would like to do and exactly what we did on our first trip - we had breakfast in the park every morning before opening. But I wish they had more of a selection in the parks. I just can't bring myself to do Crystal Palace or Hollywood & Vine again (no Pooh or Disney Jr. fans here anyways). The only pre-opening we'll do is Akershus which is more of a hindrance than anything since it's waaaaaaay over on the other side of where you want to be at rope drop. I def. would have booked Tusker House early but the day we're going is a morning EMH anyways so even better, IMO. I wish we could some other morning EMHs but I wasn't able to coordinate any except AK.

Do you regret that trip? My kids will only be 4 and just about 2......

Nope! :thumbsup2

We got great pictures with all the characters and all over the land. Did a couple of character meals which were fun also. We did very short days at EPCOT (He was bored with the countries after the fun little Mexico ride), so we kept it to Spaceship Earth and a couple of others, and HS where only the stunt show, Muppets 3D, playground, and surprisingly The Great Movie ride really held his interest.

My advice would be to focus on MK and AK. DS loved the animals and kiddie area at AK and loved mostly everything at MK, espescially going on Buzz Lightyear over and over and over....::yes::

Keep the days short enough so they don't get overtired!

By the time DS was 7, he was a veteran and wanted no part of character meals or pictures with characters. It was all ride ride ride!!!!

I'm sure you'll have fun.

i'm curious to see how ODS will be with the characters this time. When we went 2 years ago he was 7 and they were both obsessed with getting every. single. character's. autograph. This year at age 8 when just him & I went for a short (sort of last minute. If 6 weeks can be considered last minute, lol) trip, there was no time for characters and I was kind of bummed. I like having all the pics of the characters. I know YDD will be into it for sure. I'll just be sad if ODS is too old for it now. :sad1:

Speaking of photos of characters, is anyone doing the Photopass Plus? It's so much better now that they include the character meals and rides but the price......ouch, $170

We did the Photopass + in July and very much thought it was worth it, however, we had booked a lot of character meals, we did Pirates League and it was the first trip that DD5 was actually able to go on the big rides so getting those pictures was great!!!

We are debating on whether to do it for April because we are not doing a lot of those things...no character meals...no pirates league....so I'm not sure it's worth it just for the ride photos...but you should see how many of the events you are doing that you'd be able to use it for and then decide. :goodvibes

I don't think I can come up with any scenario where I'd pay $170 for it. :confused3 I ran a Photopass share in the past with 3 other people who were going to be there around the same times as me, so it cost us $25/each (the old PP for $99). now *that* was worth it.
I think that's a forbidden topic here now so all's I'll say is if anyone is interested, shoot me a PM.

Is there a like button for this?? I love my photo pass too but always have done a ?&$@?.. Lol

Good morning. Still no flights. :furious: I want to make the rest of my ADRs and be done with it so I can move on to my Touring Plans. :rolleyes2

I guess I'm coming late to this party but I didn't know this thread existed! We are going April 12-20 and staying at the CR. it is me, my mom, DS11, and DD9. We are so excited! OP, can you add me to your list?? So happy to be planning with you all!

Plus, with our family schedule the way is it right now, anything that actually has the four of us together for longer than an hour a day will have him over the moon ...

Oh! This is us too! I think we're living parallel lives. DH works nights and has Sunday and Monday off and I work regular hours with weekends off. Vacations are always double fun because we're all together.

Ugh, more airfare stress!! So you may know how I'm freaking out about the $$ of the airfare, but I got the SW Visa last month for the bonus 25k points.
Now today I just saw on another board that they changed the offer to 50k bonus points for applying, so I called and they said they would give me the extra 25k...... but it can take 6-8 weeks (their standard line, it seems to not take that long but probably will be at least 3-4 weeks). If I wait for that extra 25k I'll probably miss out on all the best flights that are going to be released monday. It seems there's only a limited # of points flights and I'm sure they go quickly. what to do, what to do......

I wish Monday would hurry up and come. there may not even be ANY points-flights available for the day I need, and so I'm stressing out for nothing. :rolleyes2

That's us, except that DH has Fridays and Saturdays off! :) We both freelance, too, so there's that bit of fun.

This is the first weeklong vacation we've taken since before DS2 was born (when we were already working that schedule). We're going to be sick of each other! :lmao:
