I completely understand! We went for our honeymoon 14 years ago. I’ve been wanting to go back every since, but financially just couldn’t do it.

We started having kids, I cut my hours to part time, expenses kept going up, telecom industry went through a bust and our incomes kept going down. We had our 3rd child and dh was layed off 5 months later. He was unemployed for 2 ½ years.

When I was pregnant with kid #3, I declared that we would go to disney when the baby was 4 – come hell or high water!

Dh got a new job and we’ve climbing our way back up!

We’re going to be in WDW 3 weeks before my baby’s 5th birthday!!!

same thing here. I was planning our first family trip when ODS was still in utero (2002). Then I was laid off and only worked PT for a couple years. things were starting to look up when he was about 2.5 so planning commenced again. then an unplanned pregnancy (YDD) put that on hold a bit...... after she was born, re-commence planning.... and then DH lost his job and was unemployed for about a year, which really put us in the hole. By the time we were able to dig out and make the darn trip, ODS was 7.5 and YDD was 3.5. I felt terrible waiting that long for ODS' first trip, but, what can ya do?

My kids will be 11, 9, and 4 for their first trips!

My 11dd is scared of everything – no roller coasters, no thrill rides. She’s worried that there won’t be anything that she likes.

My 9ds is a thrill seeker. He’s worried there won’t be enough thrill rides.

My 4dd is just sick of talking about it and wishes that we would go NOW!

There are TONS of things in each park for non thrill-seekers. Have you ever heard of PassPorter? They publish great guides so you can plan for different tastes. YouTube is awesome for watching rides and parades, too-keeps the whole "oh my goodness why can't we just go NOW" feeling at bay! :rotfl2:

As a thrill-seeker myself, I find that Disney doesn't have as many good rollercoasters as some other parks, but...it's Disney! Even the tame rides are awesome if you're into the whole Disney magic thing. As a younger kid, I can't ever remember a trip where I was bored or disappointed with the lack of thrill rides. As long as you have some sort of a plan in place as opposed to just going with the flow, I don't think it's possible for anyone to be disappointed. :)

I'm currently indifferent about this trip...I'd much rather go to NYC and see a Broadway show, only because I'm most likely going to be living ten minutes from WDW in college and I eventually want to work there. We're possibly going to see Phantom of the Opera (my second favourite show) in July, depends on how college works out. I'm getting into my top school, no problem (my SAT is a good 300 points over their average, my GPA is a flawless 4.0), but it's VERY expensive. Just took the SAT for the fourth time, hoping to get my scores up so I can be in line for a full scholarship. It's SO stressful! :scared1:

We're booked! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

April 23 to May 1, 2013, at a Finding Nemo suite at AOA (a little different from our original plans). The pin code made the difference for an extra day, and we still came in under our price "ceiling."

I was so happy I teared up sitting there at the AAA agent's desk. She's a Disney fanatic too, though, and understood. She gave me a high five. :)

TJDisneymama and LynneIL, something similar for us. We had to dig out of a hole, and then start saving. I'm so happy to do it while they're still at the age where the characters are real and everything is just magic. :wizard:

Now, six days to ADRs! ;)

Congratulations on your college acceptance! I hope you get the financial help needed!

My favorite show of all time is Les Miserables. Nothing even comes close!

I'm sure my kids will all have a great time. It's just funny that when I reassure dd(10) that there is plenty to do that isn't thrill rides, then my ds(8) starts getting nervous that there won't be enough thrill rides! I try to reassure them that there is something there for EVERYONE!

I definitely need to check out PassPorter. Thanks for the recommendation.

Hi everyone! I just discovered this thread! I started a pre-trip report for my trip in April. We'll be visiting from 4/21-4/27, and staying off-property. I'm super excited because I'll be going with my husband, my mom and dad, and my brother. My mom and brother haven't been to Disney in over 15 years! So there's lots that I have to show them. Since my brother hasn't been since he was about 6 it will almost be like a completely new experience for him :goodvibes:

*yawn*
I just spent an hour working on my tickers, lol. I'm really not going to get much work done in the next 6 months, am I? :lmao:

Oh man, and they're not even showing up right! I have 2 and only half of one is showing..... is there a limit to how big our siggy can be?
Jeez, and I was just about to start working. guess I can't now. :p

So many from Northern New England. Am I the only one from CT?!?! Patiently waiting on SW flights from BDL as well.

Oh and I have to agree Les Miserables is the best Broadway show ever!

6 more months! How will we survive?!?! LOL!

LOL! I feel the same way. I keep telling myself it will be better after tomorrow once all of my ADRs are made, then I can stop obsessing over everything so much.

But then I'll be stalking the website for discounts. Then it will be time to start making some touring plans... and I'll have lots of research to do with all the new FL stuff opening up!

So yeah... I feel an unproductive 6 months ahead. :lmao:

I like that our tickers say 5 months..... before you know it, it will say 4, then 3, then 2.....:thumbsup2

Hi. Can someone tell me how to get added to the list? Thanks :)

If you mean the list on the first page, then just post your info here and I will update post # 1 OR you can PM me and I'll put the info there. I am also keeping the ADR list so you can do the same thing for that.

Now, if you mean the Facebook list, just go to the Facebook page (there is a link for it in post # 1) and request to join.

I guess I'm coming late to this party but I didn't know this thread existed! We are going April 12-20 and staying at the CR. it is me, my mom, DS11, and DD9. We are so excited! OP, can you add me to your list?? So happy to be planning with you all!

Hey! I found your post and added you in. :goodvibes

I guess I was all caught up in making my ADRs on the 17th that I didn't look back on the thread far enough when I came on for the day. At least that's my excuse.

I just tried making an ADR for BOG. It only gave me the option of choosing Oct. Nov. or Dec. it didn't go past that. Any idea why??? I have always made my ADRs online I have never called.
HELP please! :)

I can look for ressies there all the way through 4/17, starting from the main dining reservation page and typing in the restaurant name in the search box. Maybe it's a browser issue? Sometimes using a different one clears up problems like that for me. Good luck!

Also CT.....driving down!!! :scared:

HA! Just got a calendar alert on my phone reminding me to make my ADRs tomorrow. As if I could forget :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Looking at what available in the days leading up to our trip, I don't expect to have any problems at all, but it will be nice to have this part done so that hopefully I can stop second-guessing every meal and leave our plan alone!

Thank you! I think it was hidden in all the ADR chat! Speaking of which, I'll have to add mine in soon!
