Yes, trying to find a flight has been frustrating. I'm going down in February and for this April trip. The February trip was for Presidents Day weekend and the prices were just getting ridiculously skyhigh! I ended up having to go out a day earlier than I'd planned because it was cheaper to get a room for an extra night given the difference in prices (Normally I would love an extra day in Disney but that day is Valentine's Day, which means I'll have to spend it without DH. Boo.)

I get to start making my ressies on Tuesday - though since we're off-site and I don't have the 180+ 10 I'll have to make them one at a time. Most of our choices aren't super popular so I don't think we'll have a problem, but we do want to try and get in BOG on the 22nd!

Those are our dates too - and we'll be eating at a lot of those places but not on the same days. Unless I make any more changes, lol! I said I was going to bed 15 minutes ago, and instead I just sat down at the computer and suddenly decided to make two different restaurant switches and also switched days on several others. Someone help me, I can't stop, hahahaha!!!

Awesome! Maybe we will see you there! :beach:

Yahoooooo I got everything we wanted!!!! With the exception of T-Rex which was only available at 3pm and 9pm on 4/18? Maybe they dont open the dinner window until later....I will keep trying for a regular time. I dont think my toddler and 6 month old would appreciate either of those times :goodvibes

So excited for getting all the times we wanted though! BOG, CRT, Ohana, and Chef Mickeys all at prime dining times! Guess it pays to be an obsessive planner :rotfl2:

Call Trex. They don't put all their tables on the website.

Do keep trying. I planned our last trip in less than three months and got every ADR I wanted (and that included 'Ohana and lunch / dinner at Le Cellier).

Did you try calling T-Rex directly? I've always had better luck doing that, as I don't think the restaurant releases all tables to Disney Dining.

I made our ADRs last week. I can't wait!!

April 10 Chef Mickeys for dinner
April 11 QS
April 12 Rainforest Cafe lunch
April 13 CRT breakfast
April 14 QS
April 15 Whispering Canyon Cafe dinner
April 16 QS
April 17 T-Rex dinner
April 18 QS check out :(

We have our group of 11 for these main dining events. I still want to do the Alice in Wonderland tea and Sci-Fi Dine-In.

When is SW releasing the rest of their flights for April? We got an awesome deal heading down from PVD (190pp) I'm hoping to find the same for return. I'm running out if patience. Lol

It's crazy I have been looking for a few months. We are actually considering driving at this point it would be much cheaper.

it's ridiculous. I see you're north of Boston as well. Unfortunately, I can't consider driving. We drove to MD this summer and we had to break that into 2 separate days b/c I can't stand the thought of being in the car for longer than 2-3 hours at a time, lol.

I'm actually offended at the thought of having to dish out over $2,000 in cash while utilizing all my reward points and my credit. Offended, I tell you!

You sound like me, ha! 6 hours is about our limit for a road trip, and that includes several pretty long stops along the way. If it's farther than that, we fly or stay home. Someone that DH works with (here in Colorado) did actually drive to Disney over the summer (with his SEVEN kids). I can't even imagine. I'm pretty sure I would end up flinging myself out the window long before we got there :lmao:

I think I'm starting to feel better about having gone ahead and bought our tickets last month, even if it was on United (I was hoping to book with SW or Frontier so that we could change without penalty if a better discount came out for different dates.) But I'm just glad to not have to stress about it. Fares have been so ridiculously high lately, and yet so many flights I look at are already sold out, even at these rates! I bought tickets on SW for us to go visit my parents at Christmas, thinking surely the fare would come down later and I'd take the credit. Nope, it went up and up until the entire day is now completely sold out. People must really be wanting to fly these days!

How about a little Saturday discussion? :mic:

What is your "can't miss" counter service restaurant for your April trip?

I have so many favorites and of course the BOG QS is on my list, but I have to get to Yourshire County Fish Shop for some fish and chips while hanging out in England listening to some fun music.

Okay, here are my ADRs (I posted them on FB already but I know some of you aren't on that group)

For the breakfasts that we don't have ADRs for, we'll probably either order room service or go over to the Swan/Dolphin. Unfortunately there just aren't a lot of TS options near us that open early enough to get to amEMH. And DH is a bacon-and-eggs type person. He would look at me like I had 3 heads if I tried to hand him a muffin or bagel and pass it off as breakfast!!!

DH and I LOVE the chicken fried rice from the Yak & Yeti takeout at AK! We never pass it up!!

You can call the restaurant (T-Rex) directly for a reservation. The few times I have done this I could get anytime I wanted. I don't think they give Disney great reservation times. Ha! Just saw I'm like the 4th person with the same advice. Great minds/ über planners.

It used to be El Pirata Y El Perico, but taco salad at Tortuga Tavern is not the same thing. The only topping I put on tacos is cheese and I loved being able to put as much as I wanted from the toppings bar. I guess second choice would be Pinocchio for atmosphere, pizza, and gelato. DH second choice would be Columbia Harbour House.

Tortuga is on our list this time. I really want to try the nachos from the QS in Mexico. Every time I see them on a dining report I want to lick my computer screen. :cool2:

I always loved Sunshine Seasons as a kid, we ate there everytime we went to Epcot. But DH refuses to eat CS at all so not sure I'll ever get to go again :(

I also wouldn't mind trying the CS at BoG, but we're already doing dinner there.

No CS??? Wow! We're actually looking forward to this trip and only having one ADR. I think it will be nice to not schedule our day around ressies.

Yeah, when we went (for the first time as a family) in 2008, DH talked me into doing the DxDP, but I thought (like most people do) that 3 ADRs a day was too much, so I only booked 2 most days, and even a couple of days with only 1. Just about every time we ate CS, it was pretty much a disaster. We spent so much time standing in line, waiting for food, hunting for a table, etc, that it really wasn't any faster than TS, and we left feeling frazzled and stressed instead of rested and refreshed. DH said after that trip that he never wanted to eat CS again.

I sort of "cheated" a little on our 2010 trip, since the food court at CBR made a really convenient early-breakfast option. And really I thought it was fine - the food was decent and it was quick. But it still made him grumpy, so I promised that on this trip there would be nothing, not even single one, that was even remotely close to being CS :lmao:

We actually eat out a LOT at home (way more than we should) but we never eat fast food. It's literally been years and years since I set foot in a McDonald's or Burger King type place. And as far as DH is concerned, CS is no different than fast food. If I don't make him eat it at home, why in the world would we eat it on vacation?

There are a few CS places that I really wouldn't mind eating at, but I have to say, I really have never minded being tied down to an ADR. It becomes part of the trip that we really look forward to, and having something with a set time helps me structure our day so we don't fall into a lull and wander aimlessly ;)
