OFFICIAL April 2012 DISers! 2 months and counting!

I love this warm weather we are having!! I told my DH that it is helping us adjust the change in temp :rotfl: CAN NOT WAIT kids were saying that they love the first ride in orlando.....the monorail tram at the airport! I really should be packing our stuff. lists and piles ready to go into the suitcases.

Our kids loved the monorail at MCO as well! I love arriving into MCO - it's acts as a small preview of what's to come with all they Disney gear on sale in the stores, and then the monorail to the main terminal. :goodvibes

WOW. Seeing all these posts about crowds makes me ecstatic that I picked the END of April....sorry, not trying to be insensitive...

I just like to be in the parks to be honest with you, and if I HAD to go during Spring Break, I would. My DBF and I pass time in line with hand-held video games, Nintendo DS, phone games, etc. Do you guys have anything like that? It really does help the time pass...

I'm with everyone else. GO TO DISNEY WORLD!

I am doing laundry today, and I pulled the suitcases out. Might as well start thinking about what we want to take. Although this unseasonably warm weather is making it hard to say "Well, it's not like we'll need warm-weather clothes in Michigan in March!" since it was 77 degrees today.

13 days! Next week DD and I will drive out to the Disney store so she can look for anything she wants to pre-purchase for her trip (Does anyone know how much lanyards are in the parks? She filled her last one up with pins she wants to keep, so she wants a new lanyard.) She bought shorts over the weekend and she needs new sandals, so we need to do that next week, too. She's got an eye doc appt for new prescription sunglasses, and then I think all we need after that is some sunscreen, I think we have everything else we need.

DH doesn't like flying so he's getting nervous, so I'm trying to contain my squeeing to when he's not around. Hee!

anyone know what kind of coffee pot is in a Studio at AKL?? We are booked in a studio at Jambo house, pool view. I need to know if I should pack coffee or look for the kind of pods that I hear are new in some resorts ( NOT K cups I know that) so is it a 4 cup, 12 cup, or a new cuisinart pod type????? Please and thank-you :lovestruc

I think I read on the BC/YC thread that the BC villas have keurig machines now just the DVC villas not whole resort. Maybe AKL is the same. Maybe check that thread or call. They should put Keurig machines in all the rooms!:thumbsup2 Better than the new stupid pod machines. Hope you can bring k cups.

thanks! I asked in the DVC thread, but no answers yet. I may ask in the AKL thread but have asked questions resort specific there too and usually get missed between all the everyday chatter. I'll try again though! I have not heard about Keurigs going in though :confused3 I cannot function without coffee and need in to survive the 10 days!!

Glad I could help. :) I hope they have them!

We did a Toy Story 3 Theme night last night :goodvibes It was lots of fun!!! Heres the link to my PTR if you'd like to check it out - it's on page 11...

We also did a Cars 2 theme night awhile back and a Dr. Seuss & Cat in the Hat night too (We are also visiting Universals). Next up will be the last movie in the Harry Potter series.

Theme nights are SOOO much FUN!!! It really helps to pass the time away until we go.

I stayed in an AKL studio in January and they had regualr 12 cup coffee makers then.

SOOO CUTE - I may be inspired!!!! With a twist, since DD's friend will find out about going to Disney on April 14 (her birthday) and I will have her that following week each afternoon - maybe I should come up with some kind of theme for each day - I know what I am going to be doing at work today!!! :rotfl:

We are in the 30's - 39 days - I can't believe it.

I am heading to the Dr, this afternoon for some tests - Dr. thinks I am gluten intolerant, awesome right??? To be honest, I am hoping this IS what it is, change my diet and feel better - I can do that. I have been gluten free for 4 days now and I feel GREAT!!!!, however it will mean that my tests will be negative. I also started looking into eating gluten free while at Disney and it seems very doable so it is nice to know that I am not going to starve on vacation.

I finished glitterizing our shirts this weekend and I have them all on hangers and labeled per day, per park. I wrapped DD's friend shirts, so that she can open them for her birthday. Oh, also we looked through old pictures and I found pictures of Ariel as a kitten, it was nice to see pictures and have happy thoughts instead of them making me cry. But I still miss my kitty, even though it is getting easier.

We will be at AKV in 3 weeks - I really hope they have the keurig machines - that would totally win over my DH!

I really doubt that the Keurigs are going in, but it would be wonderful! I am not going to stop until I find out though!! Coffee/ filters are on the top of my list as well as To-go cups to pour myself one before leaving the room. My other drink of choice that I have never found is Seltzer water. So that will be ordered from netgrocer.com 1 week before the trip :yay:

its getting a little harder to sleep!

I didn't mean to get your hopes up. I know I read it on that thread. Some people were saying why in just DVC that's not fair. And it is really new so they may have not been put in all of them yet. Crossing my fingers!!

Its ok! any info that anyone hears is ok by me. You never know?! I am glad that there is a friendly bunch here that seem to always help each other out :worship:

THANKS :goodvibes now i'm curious to hear what your inspiration is. You could just say you have a craving for some good Disney stuff and say let's do a Disney themed week!! would that work?

I know hey?!?! We are at 38 today and I was just so amazed when we dropped out of the 40's. Seems a bit surreal right now that it's actually that close now!!!
HEY! Did we compare schedules yet b/c i guess we'll be there the same time.

ugh!! what a pain :( BUT you ARE right!! Knowing if that is the case will help you to make the adjustment for good and start to feeling much better :thumbsup2 I'll be thinking of you!!!

Great job on all the prep work!! and :hug:hugs for missing your kitty.

We LOVE POP - The Hippy Dippy pool is the "fun" pool, it's right outside of the main building. About the Special thing - Like what????? What are you looking for?

As for the food court - the choices are amazing - so many to decide from. Go to the POP thread on the resort board and check out the first couple of pages - TONS of info and tips.

Best tip I have - get to breakfast by 7am - we always did this and had a lazy breakfast before the mass hoards come in about 7:30 every morning.

Thanks so much for the info. Our DGD is an early riser, so early breakfast sounds good. Don't know where we'll be in relation to the Hippy Dippy pool, but we'll be sure to make our way there. The special things were if they did activities and movies for the kids like they did at WL last year.:goodvibes

When we stayed there this past September the lifeguards had the kids dancing by the Hippy Dippy pool. They also have people doing the Hustle in the food court that you can join in on. And my kids did enjoy the movies that POP did by the pool also (well, in the grassy area near pool and food court). My daughter is 5 and had a ball:)

I think this is just what our DGD will enjoy too. This is her first trip and honestly, if we did nothing but hang out at the pool, she would be in heaven. She's going to have so much fun! Thanks for the tips!:thumbsup2

Anyone been in April? I live in Alabama and it is already so stinking hot down here! Several days have been in the mid 80s; now I'm worried about the heat on our trip. I have a fan for the stroller and read about bringing the hand held misting fans (was planning on getting some when our trip was for June); do you think I should get some? Anyone else bringing any?

Last year for our Sept trip, I found small misting fans that fit in the palm of your hand and could clip onto a belt or bag. (I bought the clip separately) They worked out very well. It was in the 90s and I used mine a lot! I only had to refill once a day if at all. I would highly recommend these little beauties!:cool2:
