OFFICIAL April 2012 DISers! 2 months and counting!

Aaaaaaah! Changes!

So, Dh told me today that he really, really, really doesn't want to drive to Florida (which I didn't really want to do either, but airfare was ridiculous.)

So, so long as DD's friend's parents don't mind her missing Monday of school, it looks like we're going to do the following:

Take a late Saturday flight down (cancelling our Ohana reservation, so when I cancel that, I'm going to make someone very happy), check in very late. Then, instead of starting to drive back Saturday after our lunch ressies at HBD, we'd stay an extra two days, and fly out early Monday morning.

We'd do a room-only reservation for Saturday and Sunday nights. Right now there's availability at POFQ according to the website, so I'm HOPING we wouldn't even have to switch rooms (I haven't called reservations yet). We'd be able to use our dining credits through Saturday (I already booked us a 9pm Ohana dinner) and then we'd eat OOP on Sunday.)

This ends up costing us only about $500 more than we wanted to pay in the first place. The flight home Monday is cheaper, and makes up for having to spend another $530 or whatever it is to stay two more nights at POFQ.

(flights Saturday morning were running like $3000 for the four of us. If we fly Saturday night and then leave Monday morning, it's more like $1800.)

So DH is going to crunch the numbers over the next few days while I talk to DFriends parents and make sure they don't mind her missing Monday at school.

Two more full days at Disney is not a bad thing though, is it? ;)

Lucky you!!!! We are still driving for spring break - we did not jump on airfare fast enough, but I did book airfare today for our summer trip - so I cannot complain since I get to go twice. I will remind myself of that many times during the 16 hour car ride.....

So a couple of changes - My DD's friend and her mother have decided to go to Disney while we are there - This will be great for a few reasons. The little girl has NEVER been to Disney, it will be so cool to see the wonder in her eyes daily, and it will give DD someone to share all the joys of Disney with.

Also, I told another friend that they were going, and now SHE and her 2 sons want to go with us as well. I am GREAT with everyone going and I think we will have a blast - My DH is not so thrilled. He likes everyone fine, I think he thinks they will take away from HIS fun (he is a Disney freak)

Hopefully I can either get him on board or one of them will decide not to go.

:scared1: - something else to stress about, and 2 more families to plan for. I guess I am off to request more DISigns.

Man, I wish my DH was a Disney freak! I'm practically having to hogtie him to get him to come along. :sad2:

April folks I need your help.. My ressies are booked and now I am second guessing them (wouldn't be a dis'er if I didn't righht?) I have always been BAD at the touring portion of my itinerary.. What would you do?? DH likes to go to MK the first night and for reason I forgot:confused3.. Also, FYI, decided to NOT crazy tour this time want this time to be more laid back (thus staying at the BC)

Have fun with your friends! Will you tour all together, or do some things as a big group and some things as individual families? I know I personally would have a hard time with a big group...well, that's not right, I would just want to make sure I was able to implement all my plans!! But I do think it will be fun for your daughter to have some friends on the trip.

We have a 7:00AM FLIGHT from Boston arriving at MCO a little before 10 so we are figuring we should be at BC by Noon and YES, we will have Park hoppers..

Well, the first friend (with DD's friend) now may NOT be going. Her dad has a time share, and he booked the wrong dates!!!!!! He called to try to change but was told it was not available to dates she needs. I hate this for her and hope he is able to get something, she hasn't been on a vacation in about 10 years if not longer, and without the free time share from her dad, she can't afford to go.

Her trip was only going to cost her about $400-$500 because her dad's timeshare was free (he would have paid the fee) and DH & I were going to take care of her park tickets. So only cost would have been minimal for food (time share has a kitchen) and gas, and a little spending.

Maybe DH will win the lottery this weekend and we can take them.:lmao:

Amazing how things can change in an hour.

That's too bad. I would love to bring friends with us for my kids. That would be so fun. We sometimes meet friends there but just do dinner and maybe a ride or 2.
How nice of you for buying the park tix!

This is what we do:
I never worry about the park we're doing in the a.m. when it comes to dinner ressies, b/c we always go back to resort midday for swim then shower and dress for ADRs. I try to plan the p.m. park to coincide w/ dinner.
So for FF I'd try to go to either DHS or EP
Citricos- MK or EP
Via Napoli- EP or DHS
CM- maybe make that an MK or EP morning?
Ohana- MK or EP
I know you have a lot close to EP or MK so you could always head over to AK or DHS as well it's NEVER ALWAYS the best scenario I just try to make it convenient when possible.
HTH :)

:yay: for 2 more days!!! That's awesome. I wouldn't care what the mom thought LOL :)

So I called Disney today to get some numbers and availability for adding a two day room-only package onto our trip. First she gave me a heart attack by telling me she'd found a discount room-only code that would make our two nights at POFQ $268. I said "What kind of discount is that, and how quickly can I give you a credit card number?!"

Of course, she was wrong, because once I said I wanted it, she suddenly "couldn't find it." Heh.

She then looked into adding the two days to our existing reservation under the One More Disney Day, which meant we'd have to add on our dining plan for two more days, but one of the days would be free. That didn't work (I'm assuming because we already had FD, so she couldn't give us OMDD) and she finally conceeded that we'd have to pay rack rate at POFQ for those two days (which we had figured on having to do anyway.)

I told her I didn't want to book quite yet (I would have if she could have gotten me that $260 rate, though!) but that I would make up my mind in the next couple of days.

There doesn't seem to be any discounts available for those dates on the Special Offers page, and I haven't gotten a Disney PIN since I booked our trip, so we're probably looking at paying rack. We thought about moving to a value for those two days, but it only saves about $140 and DH didn't think moving was worth that.

So we're at a holding point until DH makes sure this is what he wants to do (he is not a quick decision maker!)

:cool1: ONLY 72 DAYS TO HILTON HEAD ISLAND ON EASTER! I COULD USE SOME HELP ON WHERE TO ATTEND SUNRISE SERVICES & GO TO BRUNCH???
THANKS! :cheer2:

My sister just told me she and her family are trying to come with us if they can get flights. I am so excited and hoping they can swing it. I already made all the ADRs months ago. Will I be able to just change the # of people on the ressie? Do I have to call to do this? I usually just make them online.

Hey April Disers!!! Can you all tell me when your school's break is in April (if they have one)? Ours is the last week in April and I think that's later than normal for our school but I can't remember! Anyway, DH is making those noises that we may get to go in April this year when I'm on break, but I told him I'd check here first! :) So, can you fill me in on your school's schedule? If it's too crowded when we want to go, he'll prob say no! :(

Well, another change - my friend and her DD ARE going!!!! She called me this morning and said - Did you say your prayers last night??? and do you have a direct line to God, b\c my dad was able to change the time share"

YAY!!!!! My DD is going to be THRILLED!!!! It is going to be sooooooo hard to keep this to ourselves until her DD's birthday (April 14).

So I am back to working on getting designs for them to have t-shirts. I think the DISigners are going to ban me from their board soon, b\c I have so many request. But I need 11 days of shirts for us, and 6 days for them - that's a lot of shirts, not to mention the travel books, and other stuff.

The girls are going to have SOOOOOO much fun. My friend's daughter has never been, so I am going to have fun watching her see everything for the first time. :woohoo:

Yeah, I'm thinking ours used to be that week too, so I wonder if crowds will be lighter the last week in April? Hope so! Now I have to figure out the flights from Manchester because I have a credit with Southwest! I booked the 20th - 27th at POFQ, so hopefully I can sort out the flights and we'll be on for an April trip! SOOOOOO excited!!!! Best also get on any ADRS! hahahaha! Thanks Moodyzblu!
