OFFICIAL April 2012 DISers! 2 months and counting!

March dates for Wishes Dessert Party opened up today for ressies. Our month is up next! That means I will be obsessively checking the dining reservations on a daily basis starting tomorrow! ;)

The closer we get to April, I'm having a harder time keeping my big mouth shut!! We have surprised my oldest DD the past 2 trips, and I just don't know if we'll be able to pull it off this year?! She knows that we will go back, but just not when. I feel bad b/c the other night she asked when we were going back to Disney! Because we talk about it so much, she is part of the planning, in a way. I asked her where she would want to eat if she could pick anything at WDW, and she said Chef Mickey's! Great and all, EXCEPT we are not going there this trip  Hopefully CRT will make up for it (she has only gone one other time, when she was 2, so she definitely doesn't remember it)! Since we are staying at the Poly, we decided to O'hana's for breakfast instead of CMs.

Also, this trip isn't necessarily a birthday trip, but the past 3 trips we have actually been at Disney for my birthday twice, and last year we were there for my middle DD's birthday, so since this trip is 2 weeks before oldest DD's birthday, I want to celebrate it. Anyone have any fun ideas we could do to surprise her? Thinking about having a letter from Cinderella in the room when we come back from MK inviting her to the castle for dinner for an early birthday dinner.

I noticed DaveInFallsChurch got you a couple of links- those should give you an idea. I just noticed you are staying at the Poly.:woohoo: We stayed there in August and  it!!!! Just an FYI- the pool gets crowded quick!! It's not very big for that size of a resort- imo.

Yup - will check them out ASAP! So excited to stay at the Poly. I remember whoosing past it on the monorail as a teenager and wishing we could stay there instead. Now, my parents are taking me back with my oldest child and we got to pick the hotel! Only requirement - it had to be on the monorail!! :cool1:

We had heard the pool can be very busy, so we booked a cabana for our entire last day since our flight doesn't depart from Florida til 8:30 at night, we needed somewhere to call home-base for the day - so a Cabana it is!!!! :thumbsup2

We're skipping CM this time as well and going with Ohana breakfast. Just wasn't impressed with CM where everything felt rushed the characters whizzed by while we were still trying to get food. Plus, not having to travel from the Poly was also a big plus for us.

How about surprising her with a cake? Not sure if a cake is deliverable to CRT but I think I read it may be possible. You could have a custom cake with a princess theme.

If you wanted to do a cake at CRT check out the cake chatter thread. They'll be able to tell you if they'll deliver it there or want kind of cake you can have at CRT. I have heard of b-day cakes there just not sure which kind.

thanks for the idea about the cake! We are on the DDP, so we'll already be having 2 desserts a day...but I guess you have to have cake to celebrate a birthday!!

You can never have enough cake! ;)

Also here's the link to Lurkyloo's blog page that gives out more info. Lurkyloo is the "resident expert" on the cake chatter thread and chances are if you post a question on it, she'll be the one to answer.

I agree that more people will catch on to the park opening 30 minutes than the posted time if this procedure continues to go on.

But I think the key part of this procedure that prevents the "running of the bulls" to TSM is not so much how early they are opening the park, but that they are using the turnstiles at the gates as a filter so to speak to trickle the crowds into the park. Sort of like those traffic meters on the freeway entrance ramps during rush hour. Without a rope inside the park, there will be no bottlenecking of the crowds so once you go through the turnstile your on your way to TSM.

Josh at easywdw explains it a whole lot better than I just did in his blog post with pictures! Here's the link:

Thanks for that link--that was a great blog! Loved all the pics :thumbsup2

Howdy everyone! I could swear I already replied in on this thread yesterday but now I can't find it. Internet monster ate it I suppose...

We're going to be in April 25th - May 9th! Woohoo! My first ever 2 week trip AND my first ever time at the Contemporary AND I'm getting Married

Our wedding is at the Swan on the 28th and we will Disneymoon the rest of the time.

We've always visited the week before Thanksgiving, so I'm a bit nervous to be in the parks when they are actually busy. Here's to hoping it's moderate!!

Congratulations! Pictures, we want pictures! If you do a trip report, please come back to this forum and let us know so we can follow along.

I'm now in the April thread :) was going in February, but my DH got a job he could not postpone (we own a General Contracting business). I was very disappointed, I had just received our ME information and tags. My kids were even more sad. I went through our options and decided on April. The weather should be warmer and... it's my sons 12th birthday!!! We're actually going April 25, which is his birthday. So we decided to surprise him (and my DD too). I am considering getting a cake made, so the last few posts have really helped me. Thanks!

Well, I think you can't go wrong with April! You'll get to swim, and enjoy the water parks if you want!! :thumbsup2

So glad someone told me about this thread - I had looked and origanally couldn't find a thread on April, so I started one and no one was joining in - so then I thought maybe I was the only person going in April :rotfl:

Now we can all talk about our plans.

My info: Me, DH & DD10 going April 27-May 8, staying at All Star Movies (hoping to change to POP)

First post here... first time staying at Disney! Staying at POR for my birthday from April 21 - 24! On to visit my snowbird parents after that. Looking forward to seeing you all there! :woohoo:

I absolutely will pwdebbie! I haven't done a trip report before, but now that I have gotten into the swing of keeping m planning journal, I think it is do able!

Got three of our dining reservations booked, woohoo! So excited to try la Hacienda! We didn't get to try it our last visit. I'm surprised at how many openings there are a La Cellier! I've never been able to get in there, and they have tons of spots now! We wil have to get it on the calendar for sure

I just looked at our countdown calender and we are in the double digits = 98 days!!!

We were at Disney just 3 months ago (October 8-15) and were planning on going again in October 2012 over track out, then a couple of weeks ago we decided that our DD would change to a traditional school for middle school, so April will be her last track out EVER!!!! :( this makes me a little sad, as we liked being about to travel at off times. Anyways, it moved out next Disney trip up 6 months :):cool1: - I had to really think about doing the trip b/c my SIL is due with twins on May 1, but she said for us to go and enjoy.

I have already started buying stuff for my DD's travel bag, now to start planning our shirts and then putting in request on the creative thread. 10 days of shirts :scared1: - however we LOVED wearing them in October - my DH said, why can't we just wear those again? I said "ummmm, b/c they have 2011 on them!!!" So I will be getting started on that this weekend. AC Moore has the shirts 4/10 until tomorrow, so I guess I need to go get some of those tomorrow also!!!

Now to decide how to decorate our window???? I am thinking we may bump it up this year maybe include some lights in the decorations. Anyone else planning on decorating? Or making shirts?

I received a free dining pin the other day, so we booked. Final payment is due March 13.

I will be making some shirts!! I actually pulled out everything yesterday to see what we actually need. I think my oldest DD(7) will still be able to wear the pillowcase dress I made for her very first trip, when she was 2.5. Just as a shirt now! I've got to make one more dress for my middle DD. And a few shirts. I'm planning on just doing some mickey head appliques, but I need to get my sewing machine fixed! Oh, and I have to make them each a tutu. For dinner at CRT I though it would be cute to wear a tutu with the princess minnie head applique shirt instead of a dress up dress.
