*OFFICIAL* AP Watch thread for Jan/Feb UPDATE: THERE OUT 1/1 THRU 2/11

Mariamouse - I'm not 100% sure but I thought he said through Feb. 11th. He did say the code for Fl res would be BCD.

With the impending FL rates coming out in a couple of weeks, is that a good sign for regular AP rates to come out soon too? These darn AP rate waits cause me such stress :) , but it's a good stress! It would be nice to let the kids experience a deluxe this time around!

alright......I don't remember when we booked last year, but I know it was sometime in nov. Considering the Ap rates came out on oct 28th of last year....and there are so many people waiting for ap rates for jan.....I"M getting a little scared. Please, anyone calm my fears and tell me it'll be ok :(

both cms I talked to said they would definitly be out sometime in early-mid Dec, no ifs, ands or buts..the first laughed when I asked if they would have them and said "oh they'll have them alright." which made me think ressies must not be all that fantastic. I hope their time is right and I do not know how much in advance they know but I would guess it is at least close since the post about the Dec. 4 one,

I especially think the guest relations woman knew because I had had a big problem with a previous cm about aps, wrote a letter.. long story... but why she called me and doubt when she was calling to "make nice" would hand me a line since they probably already figured I was:crazy: !

alright that's making me feel a little bit better. thank you.....now only if we could get a exact date (ahahhaha)
do you know if they release them at the begining of the day or if there is a chance that they would release them at like 3 pm? just want to know when to look on the board. thanks in advance

Not today, November 12 for AP rates. CM said could be out at ANY TIME now, but not today.

afsi3838, the rates are generally released 1st thing in the morning.

Here's hoping! princess:

The CM I talked to 2 days ago to make ressies for Jan 10 and 16&17 said that they are very busy with ressies through Feb. with that Visa deal they are advertising. I had a hard time finding a room with a AAA rate (Just in case I can't get the AP rate) and she said that when they do come out- there probably wouldn't be alot- because they are selling rooms so well- so to be sure to check in daily to seen when those AP rates were active. She indicated it would be like trying to get the AP rate for October- December of this year. So- if you don't have ressies at all- I would suggest you make them and then change them when the AP comes out- otherwise, you may not get a ressie. OH_ she also said that for the last 5 months they have been working overtime- guess all is back to normal at WDW!

after much consideration i finally decided to do it. I made ressies without an ap rate :o  WE are staying at the dolphin for new years---wanted to just add on to that, but they don't have availability on the jan 2nd in either resort and the AP rates aren't available till Jan 6th. Ok.....no problem....so i called and made ressies at the pop century( i'm actually pretty excited about this). There is def. a feeling of relief knowing that either with or without the ap rates we are going to be there.
still keeping fingers crossed for ap rates. asked the CM (not having a very magical day :( ) if i could switch over once the ap rates came out. She said yes. however, no inkling of when....darn.
anyways, i'll keep you all posted and we'll stick with this TOGETHER. we will have those rates, and we will have a MAGICAL DAY:mad: HEHEHE:tongue:

Anybody have an idea on what Disney is offering for SOG guests? Planning a trip in Feb, but as SOG is closed till March, was wondering if anyone knew of any other deals Disney was offering in place of SOG rates...

oh great hope that doesn't mean the parks will be that busy. nothing like ruining my nice vacation...guess I won't worry too much till I see the closing hours change from7 to 11!

We went to WDW in OCtober and it was pretry crowded, but not so crowded that you couldn't move . We went to parks on the days when they were not EE- for instance, If MK was EE on Monday, we'd go to Epcot. That really seemed to work for us. So don't worry! You'll have fun and the waits will not be horrible- they're very tolerable. If you're flexible- you'll have a blast

wdwgirls-thanks for the response... oh well, not for our dates as of yet.... but I wonder when or if at all these rates for Pres. week will come out--- any guesses?

Called today, November 13th at 7:05. Waited 2-3 minutes to talk but no AP rates yet. This worries me. Room sales must be pretty brisk.

It was probably all of us calling to see if the rates were out yet :)

Or...all the people who are trying to find a room for Thanksgiving or Christmas.

Always optomistic!

Yeah Magsmom...same thing happened to me.

I have NEVER encountered such a RUDE CRO before! We have doing Disney forever and today I encountered a CRO, that seriously does NOT need to be working there.

I called and asked if she would check to see if the AP rates were out yet for January...called her by name to be polite and then waited for her response. After a heavy and deep sigh of irritibliity she responded with..."No, they are NOT!" She didn't even check, she didnt take enough time too, whereas I responded with.....could you please tell me when they typically come out or do you have any idea when they might come out this season? Once again more sighs and shortness and an answer of..."I don't have any idea when they are coming out!! And last year they came out on January 1st for the enitre year all at once!!" I was quiet for a second and when I told her that I wasnt sure that was right ( I KNOW BETTER) she yelled at me at told me "THAT she should know, she worked there!" After that she hung up..not a Have a great day.....not a thank you for calling Disney..nothing! Oh how i wish i could remember her name!

After that I called back and got a great CRO. She was really really excited when she saw that the FL rates for that time are were out.....but when she clicked on it.....they werent connecting yet....which she said meant they are working on it and it could be any day! AND that they do AP and FL residents at the same time usually so call for me to call back consistently over the next 2 weeks!! Even SHE was excited! So people...dont give up the wait! They are a coming!

****Playing Devil's Advocate Here, NOT defending her****

Everyone has a bad day. Regardless of whether you work for Disney or not. It is what it is. That being said, think about it, you are on a call center, and you are getting 10s if not 100's of calls every day asking a question you cannot answer. The frustration level that the CM's at CRO and WDTC must be feeling must be astronomical. I work on an National IT Help Desk, and I have to constantly remind myself that even though I have hear this particular question 100s of times, it is probably the first time this person has asked.

Just my very humble opinion. Take it for what it is worth.

Debbie

PS--I too am waiting for AP rates for January, but if they don't come out for my trip, oh well, we are booked at a resort we love, and it is already paid in full at rack rate. If AP rates hit, we will take the difference and use it for our food budget.

Good Luck everyone

This goes back to Disney Management. They need to have a way to notify guests of availability of discounts without constant calling to their toll call phone #. A website for AP holders would seem like a workable solution to me. When they are available, they could put a notice up. I think I would get frustrated as a cm too.

I got burned on AP rates in September. I wanted to stay at Boardwalk Inn. I waited and waited for the rates to come out, they never did and when I finally tried to make a reservation at regular or Disney Club/AAA rates, they were totally booked for some of my nights. I thought it was a certainty there would be AP rates since September is one of the slowest months of the year. So we ended up at CBR with Disney Club rates.

This rude CM incident reminded me of a funny thing with a CM at MK. I had to use the ladies room while my family waited for the 3:00 parade by the trainstation. I walked into the locker area under the station but couldn't find the restroom so I headed to the service desk in there, two young CM's were talking among themselves about how sick they were of answering the same stupid questions over and over. They didn't see me approach so I said "excuse me... would you mind answering one of those stupid questions one more time for me.... where is the ladies room?" Well they turned beet red and profusely apologized to me. I said I was sure it was less than fun to be stuck under the train station don't worry about it. They told me where to go (for the restroom) and again apologized. :o I didn't get mad, they are human too. We can't always be at our best.

:sunny:

Mariamouse, I too am waiting on AP rates for post value season, we are going the week after Pres. weeek.

vicb..thanks for making me laugh, cute story!

debster.....thanks for your comments, they are noted and considered and I rarely get upset at "devils advocate" comments..:) I always take things for what they are worth, and I had actually thought about the fact that all people have rough days (I do too). I would have be more than happy to have shared some of my disney magic and kindness, by telling her I would say a quick prayer for her day to improve, if she would have given me the chance. As it is, she got one anyway! In the mean time the other CM, made me smile, so all was ok. Just kinda takes me aback when you get something like that if that makes sense!

Pixie

whispy pixie..either there is more than one or I got her too amazing rude for a CM, extrememtly rude for any company's rep. screamed at me for asking for CRO, threatening to write up the girl who did my ressis since "she must have been the one to tell you to ask for cro"( even thought I said she wasn't), for asking about Ap rate,,the whole converstation was unbelievable. I wrote a letter..customer relations called a few weeks later, told me anything i could think of about Ap and rates ( except exactly when lol!) and said there was nothing on the initial girl written up ( obviously it wasn't an idle threat). the middle cm was unbelievable though
