I'm busy voting for Brooke over here. I think she needs my help tonight.

Hey Robin....don't hold back....tell us how you really feel!!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

HUGE Dolly fan here and I hated MJ. That was horrible. I had to post my thoughts tonight

Jason made me a fan tonight. Great performance, great song he really seemed to understand what he was singing. I also loved that he did a recent song by Dolly.

Brooke's Jolene wasn't horrible but I thought it was just shy of being a lounge singer version.

Ramiele was forgetable.

Syshesia did an ok version of I will always love you however, her voice strained at the end and made it just ok

David Cook, wow, I was shocked he took on a bluegrass song, one of my favorite Dolly songs and actually did a fantastic job.

Carly, what can I say I really didn't care for the arrangement. It was way more of a ballad and it was one of Dolly's first cross-over hits. She sang it well though.

David A. fantastic, I liked Jason more but he did a wonderful job. I loved the emotion.

Kristy absolutely the worst version of Coat of Many Colors. I think that she didn't get the emotion behind the song. I really thought she would have tonight in the bag, I was wrong.

Oh yeah! I forgot all about Syesha...haha. She could go home. However, she is singing a well-known song tonight so that might keep her around.

Problem is, she tackled a song that got her compared to Whitney, not Dolly.

They so need to quit picking songs Whitney's done.... all they're gonna get is being compared to her and not measuring up.

Disappointment of the night:

KLC - this was your night to shine and you had absolutely no feeling with that song. Sorry. Your time on idol should be over.

Just OK:
Ramielle - probably in the bottom this week - but actually seemed like she was having a little more fun this week. I don't think she is going home.

Believable:
Brooke - for country/soul - maybe a new genre?
Jason - I thought it was a good song choice and he should be safe. I liked it.
David A - Maybe his niche should be Christian Contemporary. I thought it was very good but not amazing.

Carly - thought it was good, but Simon could've used some tact.

David C - I had listened to this song and wondered how he was gonna "Cook it up" for me tonight. I liked that he showed his slow/acoutsic side. Dolly liked the arrangement. He was able to show that he could hold his own doing a Dolly Parton song.(no dirty comments please ;) ) Now, maybe Dox whatevah will finally sthu. I LOVE how he gave them co-credit with some other obscure band. Whiners. He was coming off of a huge week so doing a good performance keeps him very safe. My boy hasn't had a bad night yet.

Syesha - I think that glory note is what everyone will remember. I would be surprised if she went home.

Michael - he did the pimp spot good. Dolly wants to write songs for him! That's a huge wow. Way to end the show. It was his best so far.

Top 9 – The Songs of Dolly Parton

I don’t know these songs that well…I like country, but I don’t know Dolly that well.

Overall, I was completely shocked as three of my least favorites (or at least three of my “middle-grounders”) were my Top Three tonight.

Brooke White – Jolene – I liked it quite a bit. Like always, she doesn’t have the best voice but that cr*p about not connecting with the music is a joke. If there’s anyone in this competition that strives to connect to the music, it’s Brooke.

David Cook – Little Sparrow – I’m pretty happy that he went slower this week. I liked it. He definitely has a great voice and that showed tonight.

Ramielle Malubay – Do I Ever Cross Your Mind – Actually started out pretty good, but then the bridge (or second verse ...not familiar with these songs) and the end were the pits. Total lack of performance from her, though.

Jason Castro – Travelin’ Through – I liked it a lot. I think it was his strongest performance yet. I still don’t think he’s an incredibly strong singer, but I loved it when it got to the second verse.

Carly Smithson – Here You Come Again – Awful song choice, but I still think Carly has a great voice. There was a lack of connection or something missing this week…she can sing, but something wasn’t right.

David Archuleta – Smokey Mountain Memories – What the heck is going on this week? I’m liking Jason Castro and David Archuleta?!?!? I thought that was great.

Kristy Lee Cook – Coat of Many Colors – Boring. Simon’s right…forgettable. Have never liked her voice and that didn’t change tonight.

Syesha Mercado -- I Will Always Love You – I thought it was good. I actually loved the beginning when it was “Dolly-esque,” but when it turned “Whitney,” it was just alright.

Michael Johns – It’s All Wrong But It’s All Right?? – I think I may have liked this better than last week. He’s coming on strong here.

My Thoughts

Top of the Heap

Michael Johns
Jason Castro
David Archuleta

Middle of the Pack
David Cook
Brooke White
Syesha Mercado

Bottom of the Barrel
Carly Smithson – great voice, poor song choice
Kristy Lee Cook
Ramielle Malubay

My Bottom Three Prediction
Brooke White or Syesha Mercado
Kristy Lee Cook
And…in a SHOCKING ELIMINATION…Carly Smithson!

Michael's performance tonight was literally the sexiest thing I think I've ever seen on TV. Ever. Holy (a whole lot of words I can't say on the Dis).

OK, reviews time! First I have to say that Dolly's the cutest thing I've ever seen and she's a ridiculously genius song writer. I'm getting a bunch of her stuff right after I type this. Love her!

Brooke White – I always love Brooke. Most of the contestants this season are a lot more "real" than in past seasons and she leads the pack. She sounded great.

David Cook – Regardless of what he does I'm gonna love it so :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 for tonight. His voice is one of my absolute favorites and I still have a ridiculous crush on him :lovestruc But I couldn't stop staring at that one piece of hair that was sticking up in the middle of his head :lmao:

Ramielle Malubay – I think this may be the end for her. I liked it but she's no where near as good as the other contestants. She actually has one of the best voices but she just doesn't know how to use it :confused3

Jason Castro – LOVED IT! He's dropped on my list these past two weeks but he was awesome tonight and back in my top 3. He needed to be in the bottom las week to scare him into taking the competition more seriously. Go Jason!

Carly Smithson – I thought she was good tonight. There's still something I don't like about her but she sounded good, even though I like the more upbeat Dolly version of the song better. Simon was BRUTAL. He went way too far criticizing the violinist like that, that just wasn't necessary. And insulting Carly's wardrobe was also pretty low.

David Archuleta – Go David! I really liked him this week! I still don't love the kid but tonight he seemed genuine and the performance was actually really heartfelt.

Kristy Lee Cook – This was definitely her best performance. It still wasn't great but it was good. And I just have to say that the song was so cute :sad1: I always get that same "my mom had to sew me a coat when we had no money" story from my grandpa and it gets me every time :lmao: :lovestruc Dolly's brilliant. Seriously.

Syesha Mercado - I really liked it!!! She should have stuck to the Dolly version, though. I like that version better, anyway, and it would have had more of an impact. Either way, she was awesome!

Michael Johns –

I think Remiele's gone tomorrow. Or at least she should be.

Daughter's feedback

:snooty: :snooty: :snooty: WOW! simons really in some mood tonight!! what happened to him? he's even inusulting peoples clothing. Simon: :snooty: "your clothing looks horible! bla bla bla... cruise ship preformence!" I cant stand him tonight!!!!!:headache:

I find it funny that the man who owns only 3 different color sweaters (white, grey and black) makes disparaging comments about someone's outfit choices..... :happytv:

Mine too, I love that song.

MIne is Light of a Clear Blue Morning, the version off of For God and Country or Straight Talk. It is faster than the 1970's version.

I can see the Light of a Clear Blue Morning,
I can see the Light of a Brand New Day
I can see the Light of a Clear Blue Morning,
Everything's going to be alright it's going to be OK.

This is my all time favorite song, Dolly my all time favorite artist. I knew all of the songs tonight. My favorite night on Idol ever.

Okay... it is now oFFICIALLY a two man race. Tell the wind up pageant boy to pack his bags and sedate his Daddy because my BOYS are DA BOMB!!!

I forgot to mention that I cracked up when poor David was so nonchalantly asked where he was getting the ideas for his arrangements ;) I can't believe such a big deal was made out of the whole thing... it's not like he stole the songs. He's mentioned a few times that he was using other band's arrangements (and he always named the bands) so I mean... :confused3

And Michael needs to stick to the bluesy/soul/rock sound. I love that kind of music and maaaaannn he sounded good :worship:
