Innocent questions, please do not flame, but am honestly looking for answers from those of you who say you "like" Mikalah or have voted for her, since I absolutely do not get it...

Why in the world do you like her? What positive trait(s) do you see that the rest of us cannot? Do you think she's talented? If so, how so? Do you think she's not obnoxious? If so, in what way? Do you think she is not rude, snotty and argumentative?

Please help me understand it. I'm all for cheering for the underdog every once in awhile, but this girl annoys the HECK out of me.

I understand 100 % because I feel the same way about Constantine. I don't think he is hot or even close to being cute. I don't like the way he sings and I don't think he is "smoldering", I think he thinks smarmy when he makes those faces at the camera. My teenage DD's don't think he is all that great either.

Absolutely is a matter of personal taste. Preferences in music vary so greatly. How can anyone question somebody elses taste in music? For example, I absolutely hate Sting (not personally - just his music.) I have heard people sing his praises forever and I, like you, just don't get it. But I can't say those people are wrong - just different. Heck, the Beetles bore me to tears - I'm obviously missing something there!

I do like her - she's like in my top 2 or 3 (Anwar #1) Rude, snotty, argumentative? Sounds like a celebrity don't she??

And what's to be won in this competition...celebrity.

My husband put it perfectly when it came down to Mikalah and Lyndsey---- I would rather the "squatter" go, because I kind of love to hate Mikalah". I think that says it perfectly.

Basically that he would never amount to anything. Scott has said that they have not had a very good relationship for a long time. The father is very supportive now. I think he may realize that he was wrong.

Scott and his father look ALOT alike. He also has a brother (I assume this) that looks exactly like him. So maybe they will show the family tonight

Ugh! We have to listen to Mikayla again. Even her little phrase during the group number, it was painful.

That song sounded SO good until Mikalah sang... she BUTCHERED it!!!! I hope if it is the one that wins to go on the album they let someone else sing her part!

this is a talent competition, the one with the best voice is supposed to win....which one would you like to listen to on your cd player...not the one that looks good. i will buy the ai cd but as for an individual - nobody has blown me away yet! i do enjoy listening to BO,ANWAR,SCOTT, AND NADIA... but nobody has blown me away yet.

in the chicago tribune newspaper over the weekend, one of the writers in the entertainment section did a piece on mikalah. he said she was the one destined to win the competition. he claims she has an awesome, talented voice. he thought she was the shining star in the group.


what do i know, i can't carry a tune, or hum for that matter.
my money is on the boys.......bo/constantine/scott.

I don't think this reporters opinion has ANYTHING to do with Mikalah's talent. I think he just likes to look at her in her skimpy nothing clothes. Obviously this man wasn't listening with his ears!!!

In this case Anwar should win... hands down!!!! He has the best voice and sounds the most trained... with Constantine coming in 2nd.... never knew he could sing the way he did this past Tuesday... I was completely impressed, whereas I haven't been in the past... the man definitely has a nice set of pipes. Who would I listen to in my CD player? Depends on the genre of music they end up recording. If Anwar sings the types of songs he is singing on the show, I will definitely purchase his CD. I would purchase Bo's CD... because I think he will stay true to his classic rock style. I would also purchase Jessica's CD, because I like that bluesy Bonnie Raitt style she has going. If any of them go over to hip hop, rap or country, then they definitely won't be finding a place in my CD collection

Mikayla doesn't bother me personally....I actually think she is sort of cute. I mean, she is 16, she's supposed to annoy me somewhat, she's just doing her job. What I don't like about her is the fact that she can't sing. The others are heads and shoulders above her from a talent perspective.

I was sorry to see Lindsey go....she just never picked the right song, and had sort of a negative charisma going, but she did have a unique voice.

my favorite is Bo. I also like scott and nadia alot, both are very talented.I thought constantine was really good tuesday, it was the first time i thought he did a really good job.I think he is definate heartthrob material.lol

I was thinking exactly the same thing! Also, now that Scott's in the top 11, I don't think "Daddy Dearest" wants anybody saying that he's not supportive of his son. He's going to show off now and try to prove that he's really a terrific father . I can't wait to see what this guy looks like. (I'm not usually very good at visualizing people; but I see him as being built alot like Scott, maybe a little bigger, and rough-looking. Kind of like your stereo-typical school-yard bully.)

Anyway, I see that Lindsey is now gone. I'm not surprised, since she hasn't been doing very well at all lately. I think her voice is just way too husky for a competition like this.

So now we're left with another week of listening to Mykalah. Okay, she's got alot of energy, and she did pretty well in the original auditions. But now she butchers practically every song, and she seems to have a real attitude problem. I don't think I could consider someone like her an "idol", though there have been many others with a bad attitude and little or no talent that have gone pretty far in the entertainment business!

Yes, at Home Depot but I thought someone that was auditioning was a youth pastor (on the side?) seems to me that he is thanking God every time he makes it thru to the next round. IF he is a pastor, more the reason I would like him to do well. I read his bio and it didn't say. So it probably was someone else.

DBF said he heard on the radio yesterday that Mario left because he was already under contract with Puff Daddy and just auditioned for the exposure for his 1st CD. Don't know how true it is, but that's what they were saying on the radio.

As for the group song they did, I really didn't like it. Only like three of them had a good voice in the song.

I'm finding this year more and more disappointing. It's like a bunch of kids playing "rock n roll star".

Okay, I didn't read the entire thread so this may be a repeat. But, I don't think Constantine is attractive at all (I know that's been said). It just occurred to me last night that he has no chin. That's what makes him weird looking to me.
