Officially registered for the 1/2! My first half marathon!

AND I got 3 of us in for the 5K!

You are right, we did have to pick a princess last year. I was so obsessed with the DVC code not working for me I didn't notice, but you are right.

Thanks for the information about twitter and the contact info for the DVC code problem. I just emailed. I saw now the GSC pre-sale is sold out. Yikes, that was quick.

Does anyone think (worry) that its possible that the 5k will sell out silly fast if it turns out to be a Frozen theme as some anticipate? My dd wants to do the 5k but I was planning on waiting a bit to register. I am majorly injured and you can't defer the 5k, so I was hoping to at least see light at the end of the injury tunnel before I shell out another $130 to register the two of us. However she's one of the many Frozen obsessed girls out there and I'm afraid if it sells out fast she will be doubly disappointed if I miss it. When do they normally announce the theme? Will it be before general registration? I can't recall from last year when they gave that race a name (Cinderella's Royal Family 5k) and I remember the year before it was the Tangled 5k.

I am registered for the 1/2!!! My sister and I are running and now my husband wants to run too! he is not a passholder and usually gets the military pass for the year. Can I register him now or do I need to wait for the 15th?

In the past, we were asked to pick our favorite princess during registration - whichever princess you chose would be the one featured on your race bib. It seems they've done away with that this year, since that option never appeared.

If we learn of the theme while registration is open, and if it is, indeed, Frozen-themed, for sure I'll expect it to sell quickly. TBH I think a LOT of folks are expecting a Frozen theme and will register early in hopes of that. I wouldn't be surprised to see it sell faster this time than last year. I would just check the percentage on it daily and act when you see it hit 80%.

Ok you convinced me.

I see the doc tomorrow, as long as she says she thinks its reasonable to expect to be better by then I will register after the appointment. If it sells out I will be on top of it Tuesday when general registration starts. In the end, if these injuries (which have been on/off since the last month of training for GSC2014) are bad enough for me to defer the GSC I can still likely keep the pace of my 6 year old for the length of the 5k. So I'd defer the GSC but still do the 5k. Hopefully I will be fully recovered and ready for the Triple Crown though!

Wow-- I got to submit the GSC pre-registration at 3PM, and it was closed! Does anyone know if there will be a second round of early registration for Disney Visa card holders?

I guess I'll have to be more on top of things and fight through the general registration.

Will you be able to register as a team again this year? I didn't see that option for the GSC. We have 3 people to register and I'm worried I'll get two through but not all three before it sells out if I can't submit them together.

Hopping on and subbing to this thread! My friends and I will be running the Princess Half! It'll be my first half, and I had started my training a few weeks ago. This weekend will be my longest run... 7 miles! *gulp!*

Congrats to all of you who got in with the GSC early reg! I can't believe how fast that sold out. GTK, in case we decide to do that in 2016.

Looking forward to keeping up with all of you as we train!

So upset with myself, I didn't understand that there are a limited number of GSC spots open for early registration so I missed my opportunity. Now I have to decide what to do. Do I just register for the half and the 10K separately now? Or do I wait and take my chances on July 15th and register for the GSC? Any suggestions?

I think if you have your heart set on that extra GSC medal then you're better off waiting until general registration and being on the site 15 minutes before and refreshing one minute before (with a direct link if possible as the rundisney site has been known to crash) As long as you do that then I would say you will get it with a 95% chance. And even if that sells out then you will still have the same option of buying both races separately (though get the 10k first as that will go before the half) since those sell out slower then the GSC will. Good luck!

Here is the breakdown of General Registration for Star Wars Half Marathon weekend at Disneyland:

Rebel Challenge ~25 mins.
Kids' Races ~41 mins.
5K ~57 mins.
10K ~1 hour 42 mins.
½ Marathon ~2 hours 4 mins.


It all sold out faster than I can run a half marathon....

Keep in mind that there are much more open spots in general registration for the GSC (Rebel challenge sold out in ~14 mins during early reg. and since early reg for GSC this year went in 1 hour 48 minutes I would say you will definitely get in as long as you're there right when general registration opens.)

Though if you would like to avoid all of this stress then by all means buy both separate now.
