Official 50mm Lens Thread (For All DISers!)

We took our DD's training wheels off on Good Friday, oddly enough she rides better now than with them on!

Daisy 14 you took some wonderful shots! I love that your daughter is having such a great time without her training wheels!

Self-portrait... (These are HARD! Thank goodness for Photoshop... how did people hide their blemishes before computers? ;))

A boy and a bubble. Fill flash used.

I love this shot, my son is 9 and we played with the same bubbles yesterday for about an hour. I will post a pic. There is something about bubbles that make you feel young again :)

Man I love the Sigma 50mm f/1.4 wide open.

^Wow, that is gorgeous...I better avoid this thread. Right now I am reasonably satisfied with the cheap Nikon 50mm f/1.8. I have a feeling that wouldn't last long hanging around here.

We seem to have a dog theme going on lately. 50mm at f/4 featuring foreground bokeh.

Good job sneaking this one in. When i even just had my camera out to look at the days shots I was immediately approached by the cirque staff and told absolutely no photos of anythin of any kind were allowed. Then obviously throughout the performance she kept her eyes on me to make sure i was being good.

I have this one;

Actually, that's Festival of the Lion King at Animal Kingdom and you are MORE than welcome to take shots there! :thumbsup2

Yes that's strange. They only thing that you are not suppose to use, is the flash (i think)

The Festival of the Lion King show is the only one that I am aware of that DOES allow you to use flash during the performance. They announce it before the show starts.

These were all taken with the Canon 50mm f/1.2 (my favorite lens for dark ride shooting)

This is from a test drive with a Nikon D700 I did last year using the 50mm f/1.8 lens. Full frame sweetness.
