Official 2024 Universal Studios HHN 33 Thread

I wonder why Anck-sun didn't get on the poster? I'm assuming it's the same character from Brendan Fraiser's The Mummy.
Since this is all classic monsters it's prob taken from the 1932 version of the mummy..

But do agree thought she'd be on the poster

Just enjoy it.

With express you don't really need to rush it. There are times we haven't walked in til about 30 minutes after it opened.

Be prepared some houses you may not got a single scare. It stinks but it's unfortunatly part of the popularity of the event. It's sometimes all about timing. Look around the houses and marvel at the set pieces instead of making it all about getting a peekaboo

Do stay and scream. Its worth it. Stay in central park and hit the houses near ET first. Those historically have the worst express line waits in my experience.

The food entries if you are interested have the shortest lines at the beginning and the end of the event.

Dont waste time in the tribute store if you have access to the park outside of the event. Its open regular park hours. If you dont have access make it the last thing you do. Its close enough to the exit.

With express dont worry about wait times. Just hit the houses in a circle around the park. Your feet will thank you.

They used to have a hotel guest entrance if you dont have stay and scream check into that.

Yeah - this is one of the reasons I wont go without express. It lets me sit and enjoy a drink in city walk well everyone scrambles to get in. The drinks are a much better value in CityWalk as well, although they always get me for several blinky cups every year.

What was different last year?

I've used the hotel guest entrance many times and it has always worked out well for me.
So every previous year that I've used hotel entrance they used to send you through the blueman group entrance and you got to come out near Rip Ride Rocket. And in 2022 you even got sent into a house immediately and would be done before front gates even opened

Last year they lined up at just where you would normally exit the park, and they didn't open it til the main gate opened. And since there was half the ticket booths as the main group, it moved brutally slow. There was a point where TMs started telling people it's quicker to just go to the main gate.

Yep, I usually go to one of the places in city walk, get a drink at the bar, maybe an app. I do always get ghoul juice though, but that's about it. And pending food lines, i'll try to get something that looks interesting

Hmm, I am pretty sure I used the guest entrance once or twice last year and it was by Blue man group like in the past.
I went the last week of October last year so maybe they fixed it? IDK.

Last year, Mid to late Sept was just to left of main entrance and it didn’t open early any of the nights I was on line there.

In the past, always seemed to get an advantage on the horde @ main gate. No idea why that was altered nor, if it will run that way again this year…

Stay tuned lol

I have read comments from those with EP during crowded nights, complain they didn’t get to see all the house:confused3. Could see it happening if one spent too much time at the watering holes or riding before doing them all.

I will say the only time we came close to not getting all 10 with express was opening weekend. The operations was pretty bad. I saw standby lines move faster than express at times. I remember last year we waited almost 45 min in express for Oddfellow when the posted time was 50 or something like that. It got better as the event went on and they figured how to manage the lines. I believe we finished house 10 around 130am

Later in the event we finished house 10 by midnight

So with that info, we've always just gone into the park earlier, did some rides, and got into the giant lines when they starting letting people into the house areas. Started in the New York area both years. But we're getting EP's this time, so jumping into those big groups isn't a necessity any longer I take it? Plus going middle of the week helps I'm sure.

You can do stay and scream if you want. It's a good way to do the same house twice (first standby then express later) . But def not needed.

We're staying at Portofino Bay, so the stay and scream isn't a concern. I'd really like to do one of those private group tours, has anyone experienced those and are they really worth the money? And hoping we find out soon what kind of food/treats they will be having this year. Youngest really wanted that Hellfire dessert last year, she got it, and she was not ready for the heat 🥵 lol

I'm curious what you mean by this? Your hotel has nothing to do with admission to enter the park, and there is no HHN EP from the premier hotel.

If you can swing it, they are really good. They do include dinner (they say "reception" but it's certainly enough food for dinner), desserts, non-alcoholic beverages, unlimited front of the line access to the houses & rides, excellent seating at the shows, use of a private bar/bathroom area, valet parking (not relevant for you), 3 days of photos included (at least, they used to include this, not sure if they still do - if they do, it's all your daytime photos & ride photos too), and a private entrance away from the madness at the front gate. And significantly cuts down on walking, being able to go directly from one house exit to the next house without walking alllllll the way back to the park each time. It is especially nice on a crowded Saturday - literally does not matter how busy the park is or how long the lines are, because you merge in right at the house entrance regardless of whether the line is 2hrs or 3 minutes.

You've sold me on the tour! which one is that? A HHN private tour or the regular tour with an add on? I'd love to get the proper name

Public or private RIP tours offer this. Public you only pay per person, but have less control. Private you pay the whole amount, $4000+, up front but have complete control of the itinerary. However, both months can well out quickly, so go but it now.
