Official 2024 Universal Studios HHN 33 Thread

The wannabe influencers, who didn’t make the cut of invited guests last year on media night, will likely line up in droves
You may be right - but I sort of disagree with you on this point - many good "influencers" don't get invited because they tell the truth - same as Disney. IMO once they take the cheese they are not worth watching.

Bottom line for me - if they did not pay for it can they provide a fair review. So I am much more interested in what someone who paid the 300+ for the night thinks

More importantly - if they want to get into the next event for free, can they provide a fair review?
Yeah - and for me a perfect example is the OI event - they want to go for free and they all pump it up.

I went, and there were several of them there - they did not have to deal with the feeding frenzy - stuff was brought to them - well the rest of the plebs had to fight for it - they never mentioned the issues in their reviews even though they were there watching it happen.

That said I would do an OI event again if I did not have an AP and I would recommend it to folks going for a weekend - its a good event overall - but its no where near as good as the "influencers" hype it.

So, should I be concerned that 10/31 is not a passholder night (because Universal presumably thinks it'll be busier), or grateful (because there won't be an influx of AP people that night)?

I take it all with a huge grain of salt as to the ‘everything is wonderful’ opinions, which are often without much experience to back it up.

many of the old skool bloggers have the chops (&clout) to give a more balanced overview of new events.

Reviewers should disclose if they were comp’d IMO

More than a few reported they weren’t invited back last year.

Reviews are subjective at best. Last year’s wildly different takes on the previewed HHN food was a good tell for me on the individuals going forward

Honestly, I look forward to reading mini TRs & reports in this forum to see if patterns emerge

10/31 is gonna be busy.

I really don't think the Ap nights make it that much busier as it's just for one tier of APs that get in free. And they can only use it once.

Not to mention, a lot of the Premier AP holders buy the multi night tickets anyway and don’t utilize the free night.

I have a Premier pass , never used my free HHN day because I live out of state and come down for a week and get a Rush of Fear pass
I did the same which was one reason why I moved down to preferred

I do miss having that sweet valet parking

Never bought premier pass. Interesting to read the usage of him tix, or lack thereof

IMO Would be nice if they’d just give even a smal credit towards minting HHN tix

Although Lisa and I are usually at UO for the week, we only do one night for HHN. So we take advantage of the free night with the Premier AP. Our current plan to to go on either 9/18 or 9/19.

Edit: Officially Wednesday 9/18. We purchased our public RIP for that date today. For some reason, Thursday’s RIP that week was $10 more than Wednesday or Friday.

I JUST renewed my AP last week, to the Preferred, and now I think I wish I'd upgraded to Premier. Dumb question: If a night sells out, can you still use your free AP ticket on that night? LIke if I'd bought the kids HHN tickets for a night, and I plan to use my free AP ticket, but the night sells out to regular tickets, can I still use my AP ticket?
For our week in Oct, I still haven't decided which night we're going, and wondering if allowing APs on that Wed and Thurs will make it a lot busier??? I did see the replies previously that it shouldn't.
I need to make a decision!! Sunday might be good, but we will have driven the whole way Saturday, hopefully making it all the way Sat, so Sunday is our first Orlando day.

Most nights dont sell out. Usually opening weekend and then close to Halloween.

However to answer your question in the past they have still allowed those with the premier AP to use their ticket if it was so sold out.

One point that might impact your HHN night decision is the cost of HHN add-ons (Express or RIP) if you’re thinking on including them. Normally, the add-on prices are the same between Wednesday and Thursday, but for my week in September, public RIP was $10 higher per person on Thursday.

I’m thinking not only will it sell out quickly but, if well received, might be expanded in the early weeknights of haunt season
I like the idea too, reminds me if how HHN was back when we first started going in '99. The crowds were limited and so much more enjoyable IMO.

Would be great if they did do the limited capacity on the week nights. I doubt they would add extra nights like that to this year to already scheduled nights as they would have already sold tickets for those nights at single night prices which would be much lower than the premium night.

Mini rant: We considered doing the RIP tour this year as we did it in Hollywood last year and it was well worth the money will all the extras you get. USO the RIP tour is so expensive and doesn't seem to have much added value other than skipping lines. At least if the USO RIP ticket included EP to houses for the rest of the night I would consider it so we could go back through the houses we really liked. Since the EP after the tour is only good on rides and doesn't seem like much extras we will pass this year.
