There are 2 types of RIP tours: Public and Private. Private RIP tours can only be booked by calling. The RIP tour on the HHN website is the Public RIP tour. Also, annual passholders have to call to get their RIP discount (both public and private).

My TA bought our tickets the day they were released. I have a reservation number in the email she sent, along with the reciept.

But how do I actually USE them to get into the event? Do I pick them up somewhere?

I believe there are a couple of ways.

To the right of the USF ticket counters, you will see some electronic kiosks that should be able to print out your tickets. You will need your reservation number and the credit card used for the purchase. There is usually an assistant there if help is needed.

If that doesn’t work, you’ll need to to go to Guest Services to have them print out your tickets.

Either check the app, or just go to guest services when you arrive.

Yes, we will be staying on site. I will check at the ticket desk there when we arrive the day before.

We booked rip tour for 630 but I noticed a 6pm has now been added. Any benefits to starting the reception a little earlier? I believe they don’t let you in until your actual time right?

If we have park-to-park tickets on a day that HHN is going on, but we don't want to go to HHN that evening, can we stay in Islands of Adventure until that park closes.

Crowd calendars show that for the days I'm looking at - Islands is open until 8:00 PM. Are we able to visit until 8:00 pm or does that park close earlier for HNN?

You can stay in or hop to Islands after Studios closes for HHN. That's precisely why Islands stays open later on HHN nights. Business as usual over on that side. It might get a bit busier in late afternoon as people make their way over from Studios, but after 6pm is late enough in the evening that the crowds start to ebb anyways. Generally you don't want to take the Hogwarts Express over to Islands in the afternoon on HHN nights as that line gets ridiculous.

Islands doesn't do hhn so you'll be fine.

Generally you don't want to take the Hogwarts Express over to Islands in the afternoon on HHN nights as that line gets ridiculous.

To say the least! I’ve seen hour plus lines as early as 4 pm.

We have never done HHN and I am a huge scaredy cat. I could get a ticket and go along with my family but would like to do "non-scary" things in the park, especially the HP areas. Is that possible? I envision walking alone to go do a ride and just being scared all the way, and that sounds like torture! I am also happy to stay at the resort by myself, so that is option 2.

I do love Halloween, but I am a MNSSHP kinda gal! I don't know what to do!

TBH, sounds as though you should skip HHN. Even in the HP area, there are dementors (cool btw lol).

You need to walk thru the Scarezones in some fashion to get to the rides. It’s not the place for one who doesn’t enjoy “scary things”, even tho it’s tamer than it used to be…just intended to be a very adult sort of evening…despite fact there are many tweens & younger there.

(If offered) have you considered doing MNSSHP that night by yourself? Could uber down easily. Perhaps see a movie @ citiwalk, mini golf, tour the deluxe onsite resorts, etc.

I do think it sounds cool, but I also agree it may be best for me to skip. We are going to Mickey's party another night of the trip, but I am thinking an evening reading poolside sounds more my speed. Thanks for confirming my thoughts.

You can also spend a few hours alone in Islands doing things at your own pace, before heading back to a nice poolside reading spree. Assuming you would have admission to Islands that day, of course.

My wife always skipped HHN on our trips over the years. She isn’t a fan of horror movies or haunted houses. In 2021, because of the plexiglass and the Beetlejuice house, she finally agreed to do HHN. My sister and her husband went too, so she knew we’d all protect her. She had fun, realized it wasn’t as bad as she thought. I was surprised as I thought she would never go. Now she does HHN with me every year.

If you’re with a group of people, consider going. You might just have fun. FYI, the scare actors aren’t allowed to touch you, and the house line is continuous, ie “Conga Line”, which reduces the fear factor.

I would re-evaluate once the scarezones are officially announced! I went to one HHN in 2017 with my husband and I'm a big scaredy cat. Like you, I'm a fan of more PG Halloween stuff. Gore in particular really upsets me. A few of the scarezones were fun and I liked them (there was a really cool alien invasion one, and one where girls in pretty costumes just danced to metal music on stilts lol). But there were a lot of chainsaw clowns around Simpsons that I couldn't stand, and then another scarezone around The Mummy that freaked me out because the scareactors kept singling me out because they knew I was scared of them (I think it was The Purge). There was another area that was beautiful with pumpkins in the trees but gross gore props on the ground that I just wouldn't look at. A scareactor masquerading as a decoration got me GOOD though, but it was funny after I got over the initial panic lol. He must have been so proud of himself for getting me as good as he did! I really thought he was a neat winged reaper statue! NOPE, haha. I also saw the Bill & Ted show (it's gone now ) and liked it a lot. We didn't visit any of the houses that year because I was too scared, and once I got to Diagon Alley I just hung out there for the rest of the night and had such a good time in there with the extremely low crowd! Did my husband and I basically go to HHN just to play with our wands in the dark in Diagon Alley? Maybe

The food options at recent HHNs seem much better than in 2017, and it looks like there's usually a single "tame" house every year (the dueling dragons house would have been just my D&D-nerd speed last year). I'm thinking about going this year again, but it depends on the themes of the scarezones lol. I plan to watch videos to get a feel for the event and see if I'll be all right.

I personally have never done HHN but waited at Citywalk the last two years while my daughter did it with some family friends. (A movie is a good option for those who don’t want to go but family is going @ambula603).

This year my friends probably will not go and I have said I will. Dates we are looking at is 9/27 or 9/28. There is not showing a RIP tour either date. Will dates be added later or are they sold out? I am not committed to doing it or thinking it is worth the money but would like it as an option as we decide what to do. Thank you!

So I used to be this way... My first hhn was in 2016 and I was dreading it.. I was literally shaking as I went into my first house. I have now become a massive fan.. Ive gone every year since 2019 and it's my favorite time of year... It's really not all that scary.. They've unfortunately toned it down some.
