How soon in advance can you tell? We are leaving Saturday for a trip Sunday-Friday, and I am really nervous especially because we are going with somebody who has never gone, and I really wanted them to be able to see Fantasmic, do the halloween party Tuesday, etc....
Things can change that same day, hour to hour. Rain can also start and end earlier or later. I’ve had days where they predicted storms all day and it rained a little in the early afternoon and then completely cleared up.

Again, if it’s a tropical system then there may be more certainty that there will be some kind of significant rain event but the exact timing of when it starts and stops? In my experience, those are not particularly accurate.

Looking at the storm models for next week it's still a tossup whether this will be an unorganized tropical heavy rain event (Monday night-Tues) or a more organized/possible hurricane (Tues-Wed). That being said- every WDW event/show/etc will go on as scheduled until it cannot. If I were traveling next week I would take full advantage of the clear weather days (shuffle your schedule to get Fantasmic on a night that looks clear), and use all available pixiedust that Tuesday MNSSHP is just a very wet event with some features not running (parade/stage shows). If you choose to go to the parks in the heavy rain-ponchos & crocs are your BFFs. If Tuesday's party is a complete washout do get on the phone for a refund of your party tickets- as others have posted waiting in line for GS on a party night is not the route you want to take.

The day of... and even as the day goes on.

We had one evening on our trip a couple weeks ago where no rain was forecasted. We ended up soaked due to multiple downpours during HHN at Universal. Then we had days that were showing 69+% chance the night before... and we didn't see a drop.

Nope, people were just checking to see if there were any cancellations, to go to said party, once their party was cancelled. Seems pretty straight forward.
where is the best location or phone number to call about inquiring if any cancellations were avail to a sold out party?

I don’t think there are cancelations, are there?
I mean I don’t think you can cancel. (or maybe that’s DL)

GS day of inside MK is where I have seen people post same day tickets to sold out parties. And since I have also seen people post that they were able to exchange MNSSHP tickets for MVMCP tickets (tickets are definitely non-refundable) ?Possible those are the 'cancelled' tickets they are hoping to snatch up?

Im hoping for the pixie dust that it doesn't rain tuesday night at all T_T. I would hate to miss the parade, and our costumes have paint that will wash off in water. I guess that might be too much to hope for? :( I don't mind the refund as much, I just don't want to miss the party, and it doesn't sound like it's possible to go on a different day if it gets rained out because everything is sold out.

Hi, I have couple questions I'm hoping someone can anwer! I have an annual pass and my husband doesn't. I'm planning to be in MK earlier than 4 pm on the day of our MNSSH party. My husband can't enter until 4 pm because he does not have a park ticket for that day. I am planning to pick up my wristband inside the park; can I pick my husband's up too? Or will he have to get it at the front entrance? (I think I know the answer, but asking regardless). And secondly, what time will wristbands be available inside the park? Right at 4 pm or earlier? Thanks a bunch!

You can not pick up other people's wristbands. They have to get it themselves (as the CM will put it on each person).

And they start handing out wristbands at 4pm

We went to our first ever party on the 27th, the day after Helene, and our second on Sunday the 29th. Both were very crowded, way moreso than they are in livestreams we've seen of the parties, including the one I'm watching right now. Since we are discussing some weather concerns currently my theory as to why our two parties were so busy was because they cancelled the party on the 26th due to the hurricane. I know they refund your money in those cases, they literally said they were, so I'm thinking they may have also allowed folks who were there to attend the parties we were at as an option. Does anyone know if they may have offered that option too or were we just with crowds that behaved differently than normal? I mean, it was way busier in all areas than you see on the streams typically and the crowds were high everywhere, maybe save for the candy lines, right up to just after the second parade both nights.

Just adding that the lines to get your wristbands were quite large when we were there last month, especially in Tomorrowland. It went past cosmic ray’s. We headed to Adventureland and still waited over 20 min to get our wristbands. We were in the park before 4pm and when we went through the day guest entrance, there was a huge line outside.

I went to a party the end of August and that was my experience too. The lines in Adventureland and Fantasyland were extremely long. I ended up waiting until almost 6 o'clock to get my wristband and by then there was no line in Tomorrowland.

I’d like to revise this advice based on the current forecast. People there now should seriously consider leaving.

Here is the link where the storm is being discussed on DIS for those who want to follow what is now being forecasted to hit as a hurricane. Lots of FL savvy folks in there for those with questions.

Anybody traveling next week or planning to hit a party PLEASE take some time and get informed, we are far out so things almost always change but currently Orlando could take a direct hit at hurricane strength :(
