Help me decide on if we should keep a fireworks dessert party on our MVMCP night 🥴.
We hate fighting crowds and I booked a plaza garden viewing dessert party.
Now I’m wondering if it will even be worth it. Will crowds be so bad we will have to stake out a spot early? Debating if I want to pay for a Christmas party ticket and a fireworks dessert party ticket 😬. There will be only 2 of us, but still it will be 198.00 more besides our Christmas party ticket. Anyone have any opinions on this?

I booked the fireworks party for our MVMCP night as well. This is my sister's first trip to WDW and she really wants to see the fireworks so I figured this would be the best way to do it and get a good viewing area!

Buses run all evening to/from MK correct? Someone in our group is taking a class for a professional certification and it's from 6-8 on our party night. So they'll probably go from HS to the hotel for Zoom and then meet us at MK. Is there any slower frequency for busses (we're at POP)? If they took an Uber, they'd have to go to TTC first right? A bus would be most efficient I think.

(They are hoping they can watch the session on a replay, but not sure if there are any time sensitive aspects since we won't be back for another 3 days)
It will be easy for someone to take a bus from Pop to MK on a party night. People arrive and leave the party at all times so buses will be running. Minnie van is a lot of $$ for 1 person when buses will be running on a regular basis.

Guest can check the MDE app and monitors at Pop to see when next bus is anticipated but it should be a reasonable wait.

First time going to MVMCP. Are there projections on the castle with the fireworks? Trying to decide if we can view the fireworks from Frontierland or if we need to be on Main Street.

It’s just better at night during the party :)

We booked this date shortly after announced. The last party almost always sells out pre-Nov.

Yes, very true! We booked on release day. We've been going since 2014, when offered, and always go to the last two parties. This year we're only doing one.

Can someone comment on what ride wait times might be like for the party? We are considering going on Friday, December 16th. I realize Friday is not ideal but we do not want to forfeit extra evening hours at Hollywood Studios on Thursday.

Was gonna go December 18th but it got sold out so I got tickets for the 9th DONT SLEEP ON IT

You may wish to check out the Halloween Party thread and possibly ask this there as there is 2022 party info there.

My parents are coming with us. Does any of the shows, etc. have sitting areas or where would you recommend a good place to rest?

Always enjoy hearing @trishadono's opinion!

For my group....I truly enjoy having the reserved spot; but I'm not willing to pay "double" during an event. However, I can already tell....as I get older....when it's just my wife and I going; I will most likely pivot and care less about $200 and care more about creating the least stressful situation. This of course will have to wait until I get all the kids out of college!

Yes this is so true. One time we were trying to find a good spot and a man was guarding a large area for him and his son and was very rude to us. I’ll never forget that. He said move this is our spot. There was plenty of room for more people.
I think I will keep our dessert party reservations after remembering that incident 😂.

Yes it is a lot less stressful knowing you already have a reserved place. Our last trip we were back in Fantasyland watching. I wasn’t thrilled with the view. There’s nothing like being in front of the castle during fireworks.

funny - had an incident in the viewing area last christmas with a lady and unhelpful CMs. and I'll likely never do another dessert party because of it.

I had booked it but then canceled when another poster pointed out it includes “ a glass of speaking wine”. If you the other parties this year including one for mnsshp it included beer and wine.

For us the worth it value decreased with no wine.

We are going to go to ER at GF just prior to party for DD’s charcuterie and espresso martini. She insists the martini is needed for a late night 😂

CR has those at S71. We had to grab for our mnsshp party. 👍

its only us 2 so we decided to grab a spot last minute and use the money at our resort instead.

Have to say I really enjoyed the seats n treats party in March. One of my fav things I’ve done. I like to sit 🙄😁
I have been trying for a seated party and there are no reservations available. I agree and really enjoyed the seats the one time we did it. I like to sit too😂.

I am doing two Xmas parties, one solo and one with my sister and niece - I’d booked the seated party at Tomorrowland Terrace for my solo night but cancelled it. I would bet anything the wording of “a glass of sparkling wine” is not an accident - I’m guessing they’re going to dial back the unlimited wine/beer, at which point these parties rapidly diminish in value. I’d been debating whether to keep a CL room or not, and this gives me back some money to justify that. I don’t need to be front and center - just being there is enough for me:).

Good luck deciding!

Eta- doing 2 MVMCPs not 2 FW parties:)

I looked at Thrill Data site for the wait times for MNSSHP on October 27 which is a sold out date to get an idea of what wait times might be for our MVMCP date. Since this is 2022 data, it should be close to what we will experience, assuming that Disney caps the numbers the same as the Halloween parties. Here is the link for that date if you want to look at the wait times: https://www.thrill-data.com/mnsshp/2022. If you scroll to the middle of the page, you can see the wait time by hour for each ride.

Yep it’s your fault I canceled my party!

Thank you so much!

Gosh it’s hard. I can give good reasons for or against many things, Every trip is different, You know? How many people, which month, a party or regular night etc.

DD is now 27 and we really have our groove on. We pull out or phone and start looking. We can find fun , food and drinks almost anywhere, anytime. We kinda like flexibility.

We enjoy genie+ and ILL so being more flexible for those works for us. That girl loves her thrill rides 😃😅👍

However I think a dessert party is good for many. Just not us this trip.

We're going on December 6th! Can't wait to hear more about all the offerings during the party.

We've never been to MVMCP but we did the Very Merriest Afterhours Party last year and loved it! I see that there are supposed to be some snacks (mostly cookies and hot cocoa) available throughout the night that are included in our admission. At the Afterhours party last year there were cookie and cocoa spots but you could also get unlimited popcorn, pop and water throughout the night.

Does anyone know if that's typically part of MVMCP. I'm sure we'll be trying a bunch of the special foods they have for purchase but I always like to plan a little bit beforehand so I can tell the kids and hubby what to expect.

Thanks for the info!
