Official 2021 Disney Very Merriest After Hours Thread

I am really torn on what to do all across the board for this trip now. We are there Nov 5th - Nov 13th...park days were set for 7th (HS), 8th (MK), 9th (AK), 11th (HS), 12th (MK). With party days now set for 4 of the days we are going to be there. With the 8th being the first day, I am pretty sure I need to switch that first park day just because I think it will be a mess of people at the end of the day and I have 3 people with us in scooters. Still cannot believe so many days are party days in that first week!!!

We can afford to buy the party tickets for our group of 7 but I still think we would need 2 days with MK. Anybody else going first week and now your plans are all out of whack? Now I really think they will wait for Christmas party days to sell out and we will get an update after that for fast pass upcharge.

We are going the first week and my plans are now a mess, too! We didn't make park reservations yet as I wanted to see what dates the party would be on (great -- every day pretty much LOL). We're going to MK, HS and Epcot, plus the party (this would be adults only). And I'm wondering do we spend a bit more and go to the first night of the party, or save and go mid week? I need to sort through it all pretty soon so we can get tix and reservations.... but I don't know what would be best. Help anyone? :D

why would you go the first night if you had the option to go mid week where it’s going to be cheaper and quieter? Plus you won’t have the first day vloggers everywhere.

Here was my train of thought: being there the first night back might be fun, I watch a lot of the vloggers, and —most importantly—I wondered if the cheaper nights would actually be more popular. I am totally new to these events, we’ve never done them, so I have no clue!!!

…$249 per person…yikes…they had better execute that perfectly, or they’ll be skewered every which way.
I’d be a bit worried about this. The more expensive things get the more entitled people feel. Fireworks cancelled due to weather? Yikes the crowds will not be happy, after all they were promised TWO fireworks shows. Heaven help the Guest Service CMs if a rainy night hits and the fireworks AND parade get cancelled 😱

Will be attempting to get party tickets for my birthday trip this November. It is my birthday... I have to splurge right?
If they didn't have the parade I would have said absolutely NO! But the Christmas parade is my favorite, so it'll be worth it to me.

I've heard a lot of Disney news and vloggers say that Disney purposefully undersells the first night so media portrays it as much lower crowds. They also advertise that night as sold out even when it's not to market popularity. Just something to think about!

Omg, can you imagine? Although one might argue that for that kinda $, Disney should be able to control the weather;).

Oh sweet, good to know thank you!! I may try to get that date then :D

DH and I are going the first week of December with my brother, his wife and their grown son - unless my SIL wants to - I think we’ll pass on this. I know my husband won’t want to go. Not sure why I’m hesitant-I’m going to BooBash 2 nights and this is just $50 more - but I just don’t think it’s worth it..especially since we’re DVC and get free EMH (hopefully - if they follow their same schedule) at MK on Wednesday.

This is exactly what I'm thinking too. I just have this niggling thought in the back of my mind though that Disney all the sudden won't offer MK EMH in December for some reason. I don't know why but it's there. My husband won't touch this but I'm kind of interested in doing it mostly for the fireworks and parade and then some rides my husband won't do anyway like BTMRR & 7DMT. It's just as well because it's a bit more palatable at $209-$229 + tax versus $418-$458+. Doing this, and hopefully MK EMH, would allow me to also take a day planned for MK and add another day at DHS instead.

Gah, the ticket prices, even when I had an idea of what the historical prices were from 2019. I'm sitting here with my spreadsheet thinking of how to move my park reservations around to save $40 on the tickets (Friday pricing vs non-weekend pricing). I'm assuming CP is easier to book (if it happens this year) and just need to focus on this and space 220.

I'm feeling less and less confidant that CP will return this year. I would think if it were going to happen it would have been announced way before now. The logistics in setting this up are a bit more complex because they're dealing with outside sources like the singers, narrators, musicians, etc. I'd be shocked if it was announced which makes me actually consider splurging on the DVMAH even more.

New to possibly attending a party, do these typically sell out within days of going on sale?

Going to be there the 1st week of Dec, with my kids dance studio. They will be dancing in Disney springs, but we don't know on what day of the week yet (guessing Thur or Fri). i don't want to buy the party, be up till about midnight, and then have her performance early (9am possibly?) the next day. Not a recipe for success. If i buy the party tics for a specific night and decide not to go, what are my options? Can i sell them? Is that allowed?

Thanks

It's an after hours event so park close will be around the normal time, either 8:30 or 9pm.
Will MK be extra crowded the party days or better to book another day for that park since our littles are too young to stay up that late?

I would feel the same exact way if YouTube wasn’t a thing, now the vloggers get some darn good angles that I feel like I’m there.

I am also trying to figure this out. We have park reservations at MK for November 16 (same day as the after hours party), but do not wish to attend. If they allow party guests to enter the park hours earlier than it could potentially get really miserable towards closing time. Does anyone know what time Boo Bash guests are permitted to enter?

I love watching the parties on Youtube also but IMO there's nothing to compare being there live and immersed in the sights, sounds and smells. Maybe that's just me?

They are allowed to enter at 7pm and it will be the same for Very Merriest.
