Official 2021 Disney Very Merriest After Hours Thread

OK - I finally spoke with guest services, and the CM said that they received information which specifically stated that early purchases by resort guests could be made either online or by phone, just like the general public later on the 20th. I asked her a couple of times to be sure I understood, and she said they actually received two notes on this, one concerning early sales for resort guests as of 8/17 and another for sales to the general public beginning 8/20. She did not know what time for online. Please don't rely solely on this, however. I plan to try both methods on Tuesday.

(Edited to correct one date)

Just ended a chat through the app...I was told that for the 17th the pre-purchase would only be available over the phone. (Guess I know what I am doing that morning!)
I have one word for this: %*)# I did the phone thing for Micke’s Boo Bash and I needed a stiff drink after that nightmare!!!!

I was prepared to pay $189, but our night is $209+tax. I'm honestly thinking about canceling the entire trip. I don't see how I can "spend less time in line" AND enjoy entertainment. To me, you get one or the other. Seems we'll be waiting an hour or more to see the parade (based on past MVMCP experience) and we'll set aside time to wait for Minnie's fireworks. By my count, we're down to about an hour (+ or -) for rides with "less time in line". Perhaps they should permit entrance at 1 pm for the prices they are asking.

WIth COVID raging in Florida, we're also hesitant to purchase nonrefundable tickets until Florida gets some control over the spread. Perhaps we'll cancel our DVC reservation and bank our points for next year and properly budget for this extravagant expense.

I have no doubt we'll enjoy it, but I wasn't prepared for this price point.

Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party max ticket prices:
2013: $67
2015: $82
2018: $115
2019: $139
2021: $249

thank you for posting this! We bought tickets to the MNSSHP back in 2012, and I could have sworn they were around $50/ticket. And that was the first week in October (getting closer to Halloween). It was so much worth that price. The park wasn’t crowded…we had front row parade seats without trying…very short lines on the rides. It was an awesome experience. All that to say, when when I saw the prices of Boo Bash this year, I was thrown. I just kept thinking “there’s no way we paid nearly that much!” Granted, it was 9 yrs ago…but still. Your post validates my memory. Now to see the prices of this party, I’m just sad. During a year when people are putting their lives back together, Disney is going to price gouge NOW!?

Question about the party - what time will regular guests have to leave the park those nights? Our kids are too little to stay up that late so will avoid MK those nights if we have to leave early.

We are still hoping to finally get there this year for the Christmas season, after it not working a few other times (cost one year, Covid last year). We're booked again this year the week after Thanksgiving, but most likely will cancel again this year if our kids (7 & 9) can't be vaccinated by then yet.

I really want to do this if we do still go, but obviously don't want to spend this crazy amount of money without knowing for sure if we'd be going. Honestly, given the complete swings with everything every couple of months, it's just impossible to know anything that far out (heck, we've been planning to go for the 50th for 10 months almost, booked a DVC room at Riviera at 11-month mark - now strongly considering canceling given the current state of things and the likely crazy crowds for the 50th). I just wish they'd be more flexible with these kinds of events/tickets considering the circumstances. By the time we know if we can go for sure, I'm sure tickets will be sold out. Wasn't 2021 supposed to be better? It's really feeling worse lately.

Wow!😲 It's either $229 or $209 for us and no DVC discount. I'm gonna have to think about this. My husband enjoyed the first Christmas party we attended but I think it was a one and done for him and I had to drag him to the party the second time so I'm not so sure I'll be able to at these prices. If I do decide to do it, I think it may be solo. It's only the 2 of us and this is hard to swallow but it's insane thinking what it costs a family to do this. Well, there's always the Christmas decorations and snow at DHS!

I would prefer to do the xmas dessert party at DHS if I knew it was going to happen, but that's a big if.

We would be only considering the party to be able to ride everything at MK since we are there over Thanksgiving week, and we know the lines will be very long. If I knew paid FastPass would be rolling out by then, I’d skip the party and save my money to buy FP at the parks. Anyone else in this boat?

I’d think of this as a paid fast pass essentially for Magic Kingdom

I’m read and waiting! Ready to pay the $225ish with tax for November 28th. Bring it on. It’s my solo trip and I’m gonna splurge!!!!!!

Yep me too. These prices are only manageable if going solo. I feel sorry for the many families that made it their tradition to do a Christmas party only to be priced out
