Everything I have read though is that BOG dinner is very expensive, the food quality varies from night to night and it really feels like a cafeteria setting.
YUP! Food quality was poor when we did it. Tasted like what it was, I guess: mass-produced. Too salty, not seasoned enough, not cooked properly... it was a mess. Won’t ever do that again unless there’s a major overhaul.

For us, it’s more than it not having been worth the price. Slash the price and I still wouldn’t do it again. Would much prefer liberty tree — simple and consistent.

If it were me picking btwn BOG and the new Tony’s offering, I’d chance the latter. You can come and go, expectations for food won’t be so high, and you get reserved parade viewing. That said, my experience last year was that viewing the 2nd parade was easy without much of a wait at all. This year, we’ll do the dessert party for fireworks viewing and catch the late parade without a reserved spot.

It looks like we will do both the dessert party and the Tony's party for our night. It's just two of us, adults, and we really don't have the stamina for long periods of standing. Having some designated place to rest when we need to before fireworks and parade is worth it to us, ymmv.

Does anyone know if pirates sing pirate Christmas carols at the party anymore?
In 2013 I watched them and they were singing "We need a pirate Christmas" and the one line was something like "I think I lost my eye patch, better go and find it. We need a pirate Christmas now"
I absolutely loved it.
When I went in 2015 I didn't notice this.
Anyone know if this is still a thing and timing of it?

I haven't heard of it but it sounds hilarious! I'd love to see something like this.

I’ve never watched a parade from the flagpole, so please let me know if I’m wrong, but if you wanted a front row spot, wouldn’t you probably still have to show up early/before the majority of other Tony’s party guests in order to get it? I get that the pool is smaller, but so are the available spots?

I’m trying to convince myself that it’s worth the cost, but just can’t get there.

The party itself, though, definitely worth it to me! So very excited to soak up all that Disney holiday spirit!

That’s what I’m wondering, as well. If you get there after everyone else who bought the party won’t you still be in the back row? I don’t know how many rows deep the viewing will be but I haven’t been able to talk myself into buying the extra tony’s package. At least you would have a place to watch it, I guess.

Do we think most of the food items will be be classed as snacks again??

I am worried about the same thing as well. Every time I think, ok... I am going to buy this add on it’s worth it to my family... then I think back to just how crowded will this (add on Tonys) party be? The whole point of me forking over $300+ dollars AGAIN after paying $300+ dollars for MVMCP is to make things a bit easier but I am leaning toward it will be more of the same unless we get to Tony’s early (and that’s still taking time out of MVMCP) which is the only reason I would buy the add on party.

My party isnt until Dec.... so I will most likely book the Tonys party.. and if it gets negative reviews cancel it.. but its just me and my DH since my son is free.... still a $400 night tho.. yikes.. when you think about it like that... that on top of doing EMM @ HS, and the frozen party at Epcot ... good thing DH doesnt ask how much this stuff costs!!

I’m sorry if this has been asked and answered - this is a huge thread to get through! My husband and I are attending the party on a Tuesday night in early December. I have booked the fireworks dessert party. What is the best way to see the parade? I’m guessing the first parade is out for us? I have done the dessert party before and we go last minute just to grab a few desserts quickly before heading over to the reserved area. We care about the viewing not the desserts. Is it possible to see the first parade and then the dessert party? If not, how early do we have to snag a spot for the second parade? Basically, would we be leaving the fireworks viewing area and heading right to get a spot for the second parade? What are the best viewing areas? Any good last minute spots? Thanks for any advice - it’s been over 15 years since I have been to the Christmas party and I’m guessing things have changed a bit!

We fly home on the 11th late at night. I may have to pop into the GF to see the gingerbread house!

I am so looking forward to seeing this. One of the things I wanted to come at Christmas time to see

I went last year, night one, didn't buy any dessert parties, just regular ticket. watched parade in front of tony's . it was empty and quiet. we sat on the curb. no one in my family would want to eat more desserts since the party itself has so many free cookies and such. also tony's is so far from all the attractions and castle and stuff going on no one would probably want to go back and forth down to tony's. the location is out of the way.

I am so excited to get to do the holiday stuff at Epcot. We did it a few years ago without our son. The food and entertainment were really good. DS is coming along this time, and I think he will really enjoy it, especially Germany. It will bring back memories of our xmas trip to Nuremburg for the markets 3 years ago.
We did a European Christmas market tour in 2016 and those German markets were the absolute best!

The garden in front of the Plaza is for the desert party, the garden in front of Casey’s is open to anyone.

And I don’t believe the train runs during the party, but I’m sure someone will correct me if I’m wrong!
I don't *think* the train is running at all during our early December trip.....

These are the pjs I got for me my DH and 2yo DS.. not sure if we are going to wear them.. but I couldn't resist!!

Super cute!

Question..... the Holiday Wishes fireeorks are at 10:15, right? Would viewing them from the flagpole be a good spot? We normally go to the garden area in front of Casey's but if we did the Tony's thing, why couldn't we view the fireworks from the flagpole, eat at the Tony's party before and after the fireworks, then have a good spot for the second parade? We had to stake out our MNSSHP parade viewing spot IN FRONTIERLAND a good hour before it started a couple weeks ago. That already ate up a chunk of time from the halloween party. What's the difference between that and spending $100 for the Tony's thing (besides the $100), lol! Our last Christmas party was several years ago and I think we only had one cup of hot chocolate and one cookie the entire night anyway! I'm torn about this party thing. Something about seeing the parade from the flagpole, coming down main street with the castle in the background.....:yay:
