I find it interesting/confusing why DAH is the only event they are using lanyards for. The AP events they just started are wristbands.
We went on 7/28, and I noticed CM's never looked at the dates on lanyards. Many times lanyards naturally get twisted so the back is showing, and I purposefully went through some lines that way to see if they would check my date, and they never did. That made me think that while the lanyards are nice keepsakes, it would be very easy for jerks to commit fraud and use old lanyards. Wristbands would eliminate that possibility.

I also didn't like having to worry about the lanyards possibly flying off on roller coasters.

I believe each night of DAH events the lanyards are a different color. This way the CM would just have to veryify that a guest had the right color lanyard.

Nope they are identical.. it’s true you can maybe use old ones (jerks)but you would still need a day ticket to get in ..I just can’t imsgine enough people doing that to impact numbers .

People could try to reuse lanyards when DAH is held twice in one week, or by AP holders. Wristbands just seem an easy way to prevent any of that from happening.

I agree, I think the wrist bands would solve a lot of issues ..is the magic band, lanyard and wrist bands too much to ask? LOL!!!

How often do they switch colors on the lanyards? My lanyard from March is a different color than my lanyard from July.

It's weird - buses were hardly mentioned at all during the first half of the summer date reviews (it was a breeze on my night, 6/30). I saw more bus mentions this past week than other weeks combined.

Maybe they have reduced service since then? Combining Epcot resorts, running less frequently, etc. You know that if Disney sees an opportunity to save money they will take it!

Has anyone out there taken Uber after the event? Just curious what wait times were like so late, especially on a weekday.

It is a real conundrum whether to drive, take Uber or bus. I am leaning toward valeting at CR right now, LOL. I am not very patient and we have to be at AK RD next morning.

Maybe they just started changing colors? My 2017 is identical to my Jan. 2018..same color different date...

My 2017 and 2018 lanyards are the same but if I look at pics online I see slight variations in the color scheme on other nights (and some that look just like mine). But definitely not radically different colors.

I've seen different color lanyards in different reviews, so I thought all the events had a unique lanyard color.

I’ll take a picture when I get home and post it so everyone can see the difference between the two that I have.

Other than almost losing my lanyard on Space Mountain, I liked having it. But I went to two DAH nights in July and had the same thought -- how easy it could be for someone to reuse a lanyard from one event, especially later in the night when CMs are probably paying less attention. I would never attempt to do that BUT I think there's a good chance someone could get away with it.

Here are the pictures. I think they are pretty different in terms of color but if a cm isn’t really paying attention I could see how they might miss it

Thanks for those pictures, it did not dawn on me that the colors would be different. I am attaching a picture of our passes from July 28th, which is a different color than yours from the week before.20180808_220310.jpg

Well now that we are supplying the scammers with EVERY lanyard style out there.... :rotfl:

Chalk me up as liking the lanyards. We like having them as a keepsake. I’m sure a small % of unethical people may try to game the system, but I’m going to go with them being a small rounding error in the grand scheme of things.

You’ll find crafty folks with any special hard ticket event like this, unfortunately.

I DID lose my lanyard on Space Mountain - one of those really fast “humps” - felt the lanyard flying off but was so engrossed in holding on myself for dear life, I didn’t save the lanyard. Gah - had to walk all the way back to the front gate to get another one. :(
