The average daily attendance at MK is about 45,000 people.

This is all going to turn into an anecdotal contest, but my experience was not a 25 minute wait for Mine Train. The wait time was posted at 20, but that was not accurate. We did it twice -- once an hour in and once at the end, and both were walk up to a line that was maybe three stops deep. Five minutes. Maybe seven. Maybe five at PP. Everything else was the walk through the queue and waiting for a vehicle to arrive. But you're using the most extreme example and extrapolating it park wide. Unless I've misread no one at all has experienced average wait times of more than a minute or two for rides other than Mine Train. And even the most skillful touring and FP strategies require a lot of planning, effort and refreshing if you're going to get 15 rides into three hours.

I might be misreading you, but it seems you're using one heavily trafficked ride and extrapolating it park wide. At least what I experienced was no wait for almost every attraction, and a comparatively very small one for the few that had any wait at all. I had a few lines at snack centers, but they were never more than a minute or two. Everyone was in a good mood, no one was complaining.

Is it a great deal if you've got 7-day MYW tickets? Maybe not. But for one day, I think it's the best deal they offer, and still would be at double the people. We might lament that it's not as good as it used to be, but I'd still rather spend a night doing it for 141 bucks than a day battling crowds and lines for 120.

@whiporee - I based my comments not just on my experience, but also some previous reports here in this thread. But we’ll just have to agree to disagree...and probably have an opportunity to see what really would happen, if Disney’s past behavior is a predictor of future behavior. I highly doubt that the event itself is going anywhere given these added summertime dates. I really thought it was a fill-in-the-low season type of thing.

We had an amazing time last night at DAH! I was a little disappointed when I found out it was sold out, but Now I’m laughing, because if that was the most crowded it was going to get, then it was worth every penny spent!! First, I have to say that it was a beautiful night! No heat, clear sky, perfect night! :tink: It made me feel bad for all the people who stood in long, hot lines, in the middle of the day to ride the same rides! We started off with dinner at Kona Cafe at 7:00 and then headed to the park for our SM FastPass, buzz FastPass, HEA, and SDMT FastPass before the party. At 10:00 we grabbed our first bottle water of the night, and watched philharmagic while the park cleared. Next, we got lucky and walked onto PP! :cool1: By the time we got off, it looked like it was about a 5 minute wait. Next, we walked on HM, Aladdin, PoC. We then got our ice cream and more h2o as we headed to Splash and BTMR. We rode Splash twice, without getting off, which was so fun! Then walked on to BTMR. It was now midnight so we headed back to fantasy land and walked on to Pooh, teacups and then headed to SM after we grabbed more h2o and popcorn. We rode SM after a 7 minute wait and then decided we had enough fun at 12:40. We took our time leaving, taking a few photos in front of the castle, and headed to the Polynesian bus which was right there and we were in our room 15 minutes later.
My advice to all of you that are on the fence is to DO IT! :cheer2: This event has ruined MK for me, because now I only want to experience MK this way! :scared1: To walk on every ride (or only wait 5 minutes) is a Disney dream gift! I highly recommend it, you will have so much fun, I promise!

Great report! Just wondering if you were able to use fast pass entrance for PP and if bus to Poly afterwards stopped at other resorts.

The entrance used at PP seems to depend on how many people are waiting, I think. There was a bit of a line at the first party we went to (I think the ride was stopped for a minute for someone) and they had us walk through the normal queue, but others have said they went through the FP entrance. It was out first time ever going through the full queue, so I kind of liked that.

On our nights in July, Poly and Grand Floridian shared a bus.

I am going to write a quick trip report in the next couple days but...

We got a lot done. Went in around 5:45. Rode a few things with FP 4 and 5 of the day in Adventureland.
Couldn’t find anything we wanted for dinner so left and took monorail to last minute adr at kona. Back to park for fireworks.
....
It was a challenge to wade through the masses to start the party hours but we did it and started at splash. Did a ton of stuff working clockwise around the park.
PP line was quite long so skipped that. 7dmt was crazy long. Skipped that. Did many other things. Got in line for 7dmt at 12:52. It was still long but not as bad as earlier.
I think they could address the 7dmt line....or is there only one place to load at a time? I ask because space and btm were both loading both sides and had no wait.

My biggest complaint was the snack lines. Dd19 rode space for a 2nd time and I felt like seeing the chiro after ride #1 so I waited on a bench for her. I watched the snack line. Consistently 13-16 groups (x1-4 ish people/group) in line. Never got shorter than 13 groups. It was a time sucker. We went to snack carts 3x. So if we waited 10 mins each time...that’s 30 mins or 10% of the event time. The prob is they only have 1 person working a booth. Scooping popcorn, making more popcorn, grabbing drinks, etc. if they’d add a 2nd person the problem would disappear. The one liberty square cart was nice because I just grabbed a water from the top when I walked by.

Overall it was good. Lines were short except those at PP and 7dmt. There were quite a lot of people around but much better than the holiday parties.
I think I was expecting it to be more like the park is during EMMH. It wasn’t.

I’d definitely do it again over a normal park day at MK. No sun and much less crowded.

That said, they need to improve the snack cart situation, and if mine train isn’t running at full capacity it needs to be.

oh and our bus didn’t come til 2am! We were waiting at the stop for 30 mins. Every resort had a completely full stall when we got out there. By the time we left the other stalls were empty (multiple bus loads) and we were still sitting there waiting. That was super frustrating.
@wdwlver we we’re in the csr bus line at the same time as you were in the Epcot resort bus line. If it makes you feel better we didn’t finally get a bus til 2am...so your multiple busses wait was better than ours.

We slept in til 10:15, packed and left the room at 11. At the airport now. :(
Yes, there is only 1 place to load 7DMT. No multiple load points for this ride, just like most other coasters. I mean, you can't load RnR or EE at more than 1 place either.

I also find it curious that you have stated you found long lines for snacks and others that your same night have said they found no problems with lines for snacks.

Reports for the same nights have been so very varied. Not just last night but many different nights have polar opposite reports. From lines for snacks to long lines for snacks to long lines for PP to no lines for PP. To being able to stay on rides to not being able to stay on rides. All on the same nights. About the only things that have been consistent from person to person is not empty parks and waits at 7DMT, but even that we've had some reports of 20 min waits all night and some reports of some getting on in 10 min. It's not that one group is right or one group is wrong, it just shows you that it can be all about the timing and perspective and a combination of both.

I agree, many varied reviews. One thing I have read that could explain the staying on the ride multiple times is that for rides that load by rows like BTMRR, that if at the end of the ride if no one is waiting for your row, you could stay on. So might be a reason to select center area of some of the ride vehicles.

I have not been to this event yet, so just basing it off of reviews I have read.

I actually asked a CM if we could stay on because there was no one waiting for our row and she said no and that we had to go around. This happened on multiple rides. I'm wondering if it depends on the CM.

Thanks. When we went in January they sent us thru the fast pass line and then we had to wait 10 min or longer when the ride broke down.

Yeah I am guessing it varies with attraction and CM. Just a guess as to why some get to ride multiple times in a row.

Worst part of night was without question walking out to bus to find out all 5 Epcot resorts were on same bus. There were hundreds of us waiting and you’d think they’d send multiple buses at same time but no. Waited 3 buses till we squeezed onto one. Not a great way to end an otherwise really good night.

This was the worst part of our evening when we went back in January.

ETA: Here is what I posted back in January re: our transportation experience.
"The worst part of the evening was the transportation back to the Boardwalk. The Boardwalk shared a bus with Swan and Dolphin and Yacht and Beach Club. That's fine. But we got in line at the bus stop at 10:55, and no bus came until 11:18. By then the line was extremely long and people were impatient. So the bus was packed. Again, not unexpected. But the driver did not announce the stops, so people were unsure of where we were when we stopped. And for those at the Swan and Dolphin and Yacht and Beach Club, it wasn't clear if stops would be made at each side of those resorts. Boardwalk was the last stop, we got dropped off right at midnight."

We didn’t need to use the FastPass entrance for PP because it was about 10:15 and it was walk on! The Grand Floridian was the only other resort stop on the Polynesian bus. Polynesian wa the first stop!

I'm surprised people last night didn't have waits at snacks too! That was definitely opposite of my experience, and I was specifically paying attn to it based on the past few weeks' reports. I wonder if what time I was getting snacks was just different than others. We did grab a water from the Liberty square cart with no wait as they had them stocked on top...but that was after passing by the snack cart near Splash and BTMRR at least 3 times wanting a water and the line there was waayy to long to wait in, so we kept going. That was early in the event. The next snack we tried the cart by the carousel, shorter line, but out of the banana my DD wanted. :headache: Then I hit the cart near space after riding the first time, then watched the line at it while DD rode space a 2nd time, and when she came out she got in the line. Consistently 13-16 groups deep.

The other thing I was paying attention to based on previous reports was people without lanyards. I didn't see anyone without a lanyard...happily.

Jut checking for the latest info...

We are going on 8/30. The event is from 9:00-12:00. What time are they letting people in the MK?

Can't wait!!

Interesting following Twitter and watching the wait times for the AP event at MK tonight. It’s 10-12am. Granted fundamentally different event to DAH, but interesting to watch none-the-less.

Oh wow. Wonder how many tickets for that one?

ETA: Someone just tweeted 80 mins for 7DMT. o_O
