I’m planning on going to btmr during the fireworks. Hopefully they will let us use our lanyard from 8-9. If not we might just stroll around a bit so our niece can take it easy and then hit it hard once dah actually starts

Right now we have 630 belle and 730 Peter Pam fast passes. Then planning dumbo/barnstormer during fireworks (we hate crowds :). Have a buzz fp at 830. Hoping to start DAH woth space, then move clockwise. Wondering how long the hub will be congested...

We have FPs for jungle cruise until 6:05, splash at 6:10 and haunted mansion is at 7:15 I think. Then we might just see what else we can get a FP for in that area. I want to start at Frontierland, go across to Tomorrowland and finish in fantasyland. I hope the hub is mostly cleared out by 9 but if it’s still pretty bad we will just say excuse me very loudly! Lol

I'm getting excited for this Thursday too! Every time I check the weather forecast it is better (hotter!) Trying to decide what to pack as I will be in Florida 15 days total. Now it looks like 80's during the day and mid-60's for lows.

Wow... I just looked at the forecast too. That's a FAR CRY from the +/- 50 degrees I had on 2/16 last year!

Looks like excellent Feb weather! Have fun.

Interested to hear everyone's plan for the next ones that start at 9, with an 8 HEA.

We are going on 3/1. We have an AP, so will be in the park early. We have Crystal Palace ADR at 4 PM and then will use FP+ for JC and BTMRR. We have the dessert party booked, and then a FP+ for Buzz after HEA. Plan to do dumbo, barnstormer, and voyage of the little mermaid after that. Thinking waits will be short even before 9 PM, but if we can use lanyard as a FP even better. Once DAH starts we will head back to BTMRR for multiple rides, HM, and back to fantasy land for PP, Pooh, and 7DMT. Probably back to Buzz at the end of the night if there is time.

I think having the extra hour after HEA before DAH starts will be a big benefit in getting things done. I probably would not have done the dessert party with a 8 PM close.

We just returned home yesterday and attended the 2/8 event. We had already entered the park shortly after 6pm (park hopped earlier that day) then noticed people already had their lanyards. We picked them up outside then back in. Our one mistake was thinking we could grab a quick bite at Pecos Bill before we hit the rides- didn’t pay close enough attention to what was actually open. We ended up doing a mobile order at Casey’s- absolute zoo! We should’ve arrived at MK earlier, eaten and then hit the ground running. Even so, still had a great time but those 3 hours fly by!

We were able to ride-
BTMRR x 2
Splash x 2
Buzz Lightyear x 3 (or 4, can’t remember)
Tomorrowland Speedway
Dumbo
Barnstormer
Winnie the Pooh
Peter Pan
7DMT x 3- we rode this at the very end of the night, just managing to squeeze in the last ride. My watch said 11:01 but they still let us and others through. The wait was listed at 10 mins when we first entered the cue around 10:35 but it was pretty much a walk on- we waited maybe 5 as they loaded the train before us.

We also stopped to get Mickey Bars once and popcorn and drinks once.

I would do it again but wish it were longer, like MVMCP.

I apologize if this has been asked, or answered. We have DAH tickets for 3/1. We are not pass holders, and understand that we can be admitted at 7 pm, or even earlier. My question is, can we book fast passes for the time between 7 and 9,when DAH officially opens? Will it take away from our FP scheduled for the next day at Animal Kingdom?

I was able to book them for that time and it didn’t get rid of our other ones.

You may schedule FPs for times prior to the event and it will not affect your FPs for the next day. In fact, I did just that! We did DAH on Thursday and I decided we HAD to go to AK so that DS could experience FoP. So, I had a one-day one-park ticket. The DAH event ticket is a separate ticket. I would advise you to plan your first FP to END about 15 minutes after you plan to enter the park. Granted, the park stays open longer for your DAH. I scheduled my first FP at 5:20, such that it ended at 6:20. That gave us time to get in at 6:00 (based on previous reports) and get to the ride. It worked perfectly.

Late report from 2.8

We arrived at a little before 7. The bypass was open, so we went over to Tomorrowland. We were going to ride Peoplemover, but it was stopped, so we did the speedway (we'd never done it before - glad it was only an 8 minute wait- wouldn't have been worth much more!) Peoplemover was back up (yay) so we rode that. The lights were on in Space, so we got to see the whole track - so cool!

We debated whether or not to watch the fireworks from the hub- DD really wanted to, so we found a spot on the Adventureland side of the hub - centered enough to see the castle, far enough over to escape right after the fireworks. A good spot, considering we walked up as the show was starting. I'm glad we did - I hadn't seen HEA from the hub. I may or may not have teared up a little...

After the fireworks we did:

Splash
BTMRR (2x - CM let us hang out on the exit platform and reboard in the back row after a train or 2 had gone by)
Pirates
Astro Orbiter (2x - loved seeing all the lights on main street!)
Space (so happy it was back up - 7 minute wait)
Barnstormer (4x - didn't get off)
Teacups
Winnie the Pooh
Carousel
7DMT (posted 30, actual less than 10)
Peter Pan

At 11:00 we walked up to Philharmagic and they said they were doing one last show, so we did that (DD was pretty tired by then, but she humored me!)

Finished at about 11:15 and walked our way to the front of the park, stopping for photopass pictures

Walked out to the bus area, and the line looked long, but we got on the next bus that pulled up - about 5 minutes wait. We were at the GF, and it only stopped at the Poly before the GF, so we were back in the room by midnight.

We hit the snack carts 2x for ice cream and waters.

Highlights - DD going cartwheels into Tomorrowland (until she got busted by a cast member who politely asked her to stop). A photopass photo of the two of us cracking up in front of the castle. Seeing a group of 4 cast members wearing kitchen whites being escorted onto Pirates by their manager so they could ride. Watching HEA with my DD!

We're attending on 3/1 and since we have another night to watch HEA from the hub and have seen it several times now, I want to try to watch it from BTMRR. My question is, how do you time it to ride during the fireworks? TIA!

Honestly there shouldn’t be a very long line by the time the fireworks are starting. Just plan to be there a little before they start and you should be fine. We’ll be there the same night and that’s our plan too!

Thank you! I'll see you there!

@Megsmachine is the expert on Olaf bars :rotfl: But, it is like a lemon-orange juice base with strawberries swirled in. Great amount (really meant to say great balance) of tart, not too sweet. It was especially good at AK the next day when it was getting on the hot side and I needed something refreshing. The great thing about the “free” ice cream is that you can try something new without investment!

Thanks for the description. Sounds yummy!

Great point. Awhile ago GADisneyDad suggested a challenge where we try to ride every attraction open at DAH. While that does sound fun, I think I’d rather challenge myself to eat one of each treat. :hyper:

Every time I read about watching the fireworks from BTMRR or Dwarfs, I've meant to post this, but kept forgetting. One of the best & most romantic places we've seen the fireworks from was the Speedway believe it or not. It was a couple of years ago. We hardly ever go on it & as 2 adults never go in the same car. I think we were there for a Halloween party. There was no line, so we decided to ride on a whim & just decided to ride together. We never bother with the fireworks so didn't pay much attention til they actually started. They looked like they were huge color bursts right over us, DH drove slow & there was no one else around. It really was magical, like the fireworks were just for us.

I would never really consider the Speedway romantic, but I think it just shows that you never know when those special & magical moments will happen when you're at WDW! :goodvibes
