Official 2017 Tinker Bell Half Marathon Weekend!

Maybe Saturday at the Disneyland Hotel - the outside patio/deck at Trader Sam's? 2PM? I'll bring the name tags.

Thanks for reposting! I may be able to make that. It's about the time we head back to the hotel for a mid-day break. Of course, the timing may be off since we're doing the 10K and we will have been up since EARLY that morning, but I'm going to try! And if my DD17 and her friend don't want to go they can just go straight back to the hotel.

Lately I've been mentioning things and then they are suddenly happening. It's been real weird today. So because I'm super super super impatient about seeing what our medals are going to look like...and since the PHM runners just got their waivers and Darkside already has their medal reveal....I'm just gonna put this out in the universe....

Hey, I wonder when our Tink Medals will be revealed???

Hoping that works. Somebody start their stopwatch and time it. :)

Well let's hope so!! I am wanting to see the bling, since this will be my first bling! :-)
Costume ideas from me include belle or ariel. Its so fun right now trying to think up what to wear during my runs. The possibilities! Whatever it ends up being will certainly be a raw threads shirt of some kind and of course some cute skirt!

I just looked up the location of your hotel and it shouldn't be too bad. You won't be crossing many streets and if you're good enough shape to run you can walk it. People that complained may not have realized that a city block in Anaheim is pretty big and maybe anticipated a regular block? That "block" that DLR is on is pretty huge.

If anyone is still hotel shopping I'll throw it out there that I'll be at the Anabella. It's on the corner of Disneyland Dr and Katella. Very close to Paradise Peir and a quick walk. It's my favorite hotel for Disney trips, quiet, comfy and good food.

Me and my coworker just booked at the Anabella! It was such a great deal compared to everywhere else we were looking. It's going to be her first runDisney event so she's pretty excited to get down there.

Question for the veterans...

Is there a good place outside of the parks to take a picture with my medals?
I will be completing the C2C challenge and was initially hoping to get a picture with all 9 of medals in front of the castle on Sunday. However, we will be flying out Sunday soon after the half. So I was hoping there may be locations around the Disney area that would be a good spot to take it.

Wow! Not sure how I feel about this, being my first Tink... I really like the Half medal!

I'm kind of excited they are changing up the medals. 2016 was my first Tink, and I loved the medal, but I'd like something different for my second Tink.

I'm not sure how I feel about the medal change either, since this will be my first (and likely only) Tink. I hope it's a good one!

Here's an idea that is outside the parks, but still "on property" ....How about in front of the Giant blue Mickey Sorcerer hat at the DL hotel ?? I bet you could also find something at the DL hotel. I know in front there's a Mickey statue. Hope this helps.

Not sure if anyone here ran SW last month.....but did rD allow spectators to cheer runner before the finish line???

With all the security changes I was wondering? I'm curious about where the cheer spots will be this year. I wish we could see the course map so we can plan. Before all the changes it was really easy for spectators but if rD makes it too difficult I know the chear squad will be popular.

If you're talking about the non paid areas for spectating they were still able to do it along that small road during the final stretch. The only difference is there was a little less space due to the new security area. It didn't seem to make much of a difference though.

Good to know. Thanks for the info. The small stretch you're talking about is it the same finish we've had for the DL 1/2 and last years Tink?

It was the same exact stretch from the Disneyland half. The last time I ran Tink we ended in the parking lot next to Paradise Pier but I noticed on last years course map it ended where all the other races do so I'm assuming that'll probably stay the same.

It's gonna make me want to switch to PDC.

This is how I feel too. I signed up for the half marathon and may regret not doing the challenge - but I have to stay focused on the bigger picture. I'll run a better race with only one that weekend and I need a good half POT for Dopey. It's difficult to PR at a Disney Race, but it can be done!
