Are these gift cards due to construction? What are they for? Pop is under construction as well and I'm not sure I want to stay there now.

Yes it's due to construction. Mainly due to the food court and restaurant being closed down.

Oh and I noticed a mistake in the booklet that was sent to me. It shows Fantasia Pool but it says Calypso Pool. Not sure how that got missed. I haven't been to the All-Star Resorts since 2000.

We're going in December and are receiving them. We booked through disney.

I knew about it and now I feel stupid I didn't book. I just didn't know how to predict right the days free dining would be and I need free dining more than a gift card. Right at the end to people were saying it didn't apply to December. It just got me nervous and I didn't do it.

Coronado is under construction too and they didn't give gift cards for that. So I'm sure it because restaurants and pools are closed and there is no to very little availability to get food at your resort.

Yes it's due to the construction. There won't be any restaurants available or a gift shop.

Wow okay then. That is not what I heard when the promotion was given but maybe they changed it.

I will also say it isn't too fair then to offer such deals and promotions (some people got quite an upgrade) on one resort with construction and not others. Made more sense to me when there was going to be a major inconvenience.

there will be a buffet offered at centertown for breakfast and dinner but no word yet as to quick service or table service, menu, etc.

I think since they are offering $75 per night per room of your stay that the construction and inconvenience is going to be pretty big. We were just at wilderness lodge in February and they had construction going on and a quick service (roaring forks) closed, but no gift card. So I think the construction at CBR is going to really affect guests' stay.

I tried calling Disney today twice to see what the possibility was to change to POR but the wait time for both times I called was over 20 minutes so I gave up.

I called today and they said the wait was going to be over 45 minutes but it took only 10 minutes to get through.

That's awesome! The first call I hung up after 30 minutes. The second call I hung up after 25. I'll just have to try another day.

I'm disappointed...I was hoping for rumors of a Monday drop. I'd really like to know where we are staying so that I can get excited about the resort. lol I'm very impatient these days. We started planning this trip over 900 days out, now we are at 138. It seems so close, and yet so far.

They're providing "pop up" food places and a buffet breakfast but the TS restaurant will be closed and there will be no food court.

Plus all of Trinidad North will be closed. Strong rumours suggest that is where the gondola will be built.

I just read on another forum--someone says they have inside info of FD dates, and that they will be essentially the same as last year, but will start and end one day earlier. she also says it will drop "very soon"...don't know if true or not, but she says its insider info

Well I hope they are wrong because if they are right only 9 days will be included for September.
