I've searched around and I've noticed that Port Orleans Riverside has a lot of rooms left. Royal rooms but I'm assuming they'll be included this year.
Just guessing like everyone else tho

So this will be my first time booking as a Disney Visa member. If there's early access or extra check-in dates available that I want to take advantage of, will I need to call? Will it be listed as one of the special offers on the normal Disney site? or do I get a code through the chase site to book online? I'm just wondering about the logistics.

Last year we got an email a few hours after the regular FD dropped. Then I followed the link....but I had already gotten what I wanted with the regular FD!

So how does everyone get the inside scoop as to when the Free Dining will become available? Sounds like a lot of people know the night before and are up booking at like 4am! Will we know beforehand?

Not trying to throw any TAs or CMs under the bus but it seems like they're just trying to make the sale when they tell you that it's easier to switch to FD if you add it ahead of time. This is my 4th year going with FD and I've booked numerous trips over the years and it doesn't matter what you have before because you have to add or modify the entire new trip to get FD based on whatever is available. When adding FD you don't just add a dining reservation to your cart and it automatically comes up "free" you have to book the package through the FD special offer page.
Actually- How do you change the reservation on the day of FD to get it? You just click "change reservation" then "add promotion?"

Yes, if you have a modify button you'll click that then look for the FD promo. I was able to modify my reservation and my parents reservation several times last year that way. This year I don't have a modify button so I'm just going to out another $200 deposit down and make a new reservation and then cancel.

I've only looked for dates from end of November to third week in December. But, in those times POR comes up a lot. I've only found 1 check in date that has CSR open (looking for 9 nights.) And not one for CBR. Not just standard, like it says "sold out for those dates." I've almost given up on a mod. lol.

If there is a benefit to using the Disney Visa card, do you have to book the entire reservation using the card? I don't have one so already booked a reservation using a different card. But my mom does have one and would be willing to let me use it and pay her back if I can get FD from it.

This pic is where it takes you after clicking "modify reservation. Click change.

Then it takes you here. :) The clickable option would be here.

And there are those like me who only has a "make payment" or "cancel reservation" button. :( There is also a note saying to modify or change, call 407 etc. etc. even though I was able to modify it a few months ago. I wonder if the modify button would show up when there is a promotion available? So weird....

This was me. Except I no longer even have a cancel button. I was able to make changes a couple months ago but never did and then when I needed to make a change to add an additional night both options were gone and I had to call and spend an hour on the phone.

Starting to learn a little more on how this works--I had the same thing on an old reservation so I'm thinking--since it was booked prior to the change in ticket or dining plan price--you have to call to make changes--maybe the system updates those as well if it just lets you modify

we are nervously waiting for the FD promotion here
but UK has better promotion than FD for months without any blocking dates
example for 2 adults and 2 kids for last week of November

Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside
Royal Guest Room - Garden View for 3814 USD(after conversion from GBP)
with 14 day hopper ticket
Invidual Memory Maker for all the adults
and disney dinning plan

Disney's Pop Century Resort
Standard view for 3100 USD
with all the above extras
lucky people :rainbow:

So you're going to have two simultaneous reservations? You're going to pay for a moderate room just to get the dining plan? I'm confused!

With quoted rack rate it is cheaper. Five adult dining plan vs room rate. The 2 day tickets don't really affect it because I will spend that money sooner or later anyway. I just have to run the numbers when it actually drops.
