Official 2016 Star Wars Half Marthon - The Dark Side Weekend

Ours are great - still showing up slowly but nice we can link multiple bibs! Now to eat up my phone memory with downloads!

Where do you put the codes in on the photo pass page? This is all confusing to me.

I had to do it from the my Disney experience app on my phone/iPad. Whenever I tried on my computer it would only let me see photos already linked from the parks and I could not find the link to add new photopass codes. Supposedly there is a space to add more codes on the view/order photos page but I have not been able to find it yet.

I have contacted the PhotoPass people multiple ways and I am trying to get them to fix this. One thing I will say is that I like the photos better than Marathonfoto quality wise so far
I also like them better then Marathonfoto. I tried to ask when we were at disney and i wanting to get a print but they had no idea what to do or who to contact. If u find anything out please like me know. Thanx

For those who ran this race, where were they sweeping? Was it at a set point or was it during the entire course as people fell behind? This will give me an idea for next year when I sign up.

The last sweep point was as your entered the trail section in ESPN Wide World of Sports

There were also "Parade Buses" after the Hollywood Studios area, entering Animal Kingdom, Leaving Animal Kingdom

My fat fingers must have typed the wrong code on my phone and I accidentally entered linked someone else's photos to my account. Will that person Now be unable to link their own photos? It let me also link my own.

The main sweeping point I saw was at the entrance ramp to Osceola Parkway just after mile 5 when you started to head towards AK.

I was heading back towards WWOS sports around mile 11 when I saw the balloon ladies come around that point. At that time the RD people immediately blocked off the road, the Parade Bus started pulling up and people were directed right onto the bus. I was very surprised at the number of people I saw that were still coming down that ramp to get on Osceola.

As for the characters, I agree that putting some of the more popular ones near the end might work better. At that point, runners would know if they were pressed for time in order to decide if they can stop. Even better would be if they could set up all the popular characters at WWOS during the expo. They had BB8 in that big arena tent all by himself. They could have set something up like the Epcot character spot and had all the good characters lined up. Runners could then decide if they wanted to wait in line or not. Chances are enough people would do it to maybe make the lines somewhat shorter on race days. I know I probably would have chosen to stand in a line like that over a merchandise line.

They should be able to link their own. I have someone else's pics in mine, too. Complete stranger but a bib number close to mine. I want to try to unlink the pics, has anyone done this?

Safely back in KY after doing the Kessell and Dark Side challenges-there were some blips but had a great time anyway.

-Merchandise was sparse when I arrived at the expo Friday morning. I was able to get a few "rundisney" items but very, very few race related items were available.

-The Pop Century bus situation Saturday was noted above. I arrived at 3:35, saw exactly 1 bus between 3:35 and 3:50. The line ran across the entire front, down the side by the luggage drop, and started heading toward the pool/60s area. When the transport person was asked, she said she had been begging for help since 3:30 and nobody was listening. There were 3-4 busses show up in the 3:50-4:15 window, but the line remained the entire length of the building. It was hit the corral and no time for anything else. The line to go back was about 30-40 minutes.

-I was in corral F due to a late sign up(went through a travel company). For a 10K, I am more run than walk. It was impossible to run most of it. Still managed a personal best. I also saw no powerade outside of empty cups.

-Corral K for the half still had the pinch points, especially from the Boardwalk to DHS. I thought running was tough in Animal Kingdom due to the uneven pavement and cracks. The onramps were tough too. Still made personal best here too. Return time to Pop was less than 10 minutes.

The medals are amazing. Honestly though, I liked the California light side races better. There seemed to be more course support. Cheerleading squads everywhere, 7-8 marching bands, and the general public lined the entire course. The Florida race was dead outside of the parks. A few folks here and there, the DJ near the All Star resorts, the band at the .5 mile mark and that was it. Drinks were a swig and that was all. I would have had problems if it were warmer.

Next stop: Wine and Dine.

I think the only way is to call or email photopass. I was wondering on that if you accidently typed your bib in wrong and got someone elses would it take it away from them or does it just duplicate? My parents just have themselves in theirs so far.

I don't think they ever have powerade for the 10k, just water is mentioned in the event guide. My parents were caught up in that POP line too, I think they waited 45 minutes, I felt bad cause I told them we never have waits and gave them what time to go down. Would you do the half again?

For those people who rack their distances can you tell me what you all read for the half? My device is normally pretty spot on but for this race it showed 13.9. Did anyone else notice anything like this?

I came in right at 13.25. I am sure some of that was due to weaving around people, and not running the tangents all the time.

For the 10K I came in at 6.28.

I tried to run the tangents as much as possible, and my Garmin was at 13.13.

6.22 for the 10k.

Yes I would. There would be modifications in the way I run it. I've done one race at each park and prefer the West Coast instead.

Mine logged 13.33 miles for the half and 6.29 miles for the 10k. Pretty typical.

I logged 13.87!! But that included potty stops, lots of characters, and a Wampa pic detour ;).
