That's awesome! I have debated and discarded half a dozen ideas for Dapper Days! I know for Sunday I'll have a floofy BB-8 skirt. As of now I got a good deal on a green polka dot cocktail dress on Amazon for $10. If it looks good on, I'll wear it since it'll match the 10k medal ribbonMy DD16 and I are planning Dapper Day outfits. We are going to go as Han and Chewie, but really subtle. I'm nearly done with the costumes.
It's basically people dress in 50's clothes and be fancy like it would have been when Disneyland opened in 1955. They do a Dapper Days two times a year at Disneyland and once at WDW and DL Paris, so it's basically a chance to be silly and dress extra fancy. The WDW day is April 16. If you haven't gotten tickets yet, the Dapper Days tickets are cheaper than even the runDisney discounted prices http://dapperday.com/spring-2016-wdw-fl
So you can pre-ordering at full price + Active.com fees. Then after you pick up your bag, you wait in another line to return and re-purchase your bag. They give you back the full price of the bag and then you re-purchase, this time applying your AP discount. This is what I did during Disneyland Half weekend.Nice find! I have only purchased one race dooney (PHM a couple of years ago). I did it the old fashioned way and stood in line (...forever!). Anyone want to run through the important things I need to keep in mind? Ideally, I would like to use my AP 10% discount and not pay active fees. But, not to a point that I lose my shot. I thought at some point one of the boards was discussing how to pre-order and still get the discount, but I can't remember where I saw that for the life of me.
Its actually also twice a year at WDW,Spring and Fall,I've been there for the Spring one where most of the events are in MK,for the Fall one its mostly in DHS,never been there for that one.Theres a few other Dapper events aside from the Disney ones that I've heard about,I don't know where I saw this but in some city hundreds of people dress dapper and mostly with old school bicycles ride around the town, usually stopping traffic with people looking on in amazement. It's basically people dress in 50's clothes and be fancy like it would have been when Disneyland opened in 1955. Ah! Thanks for the added info! Sorry I was wrong- while I've only heard about Dapper Days in the overall sense of them this is the first time I'm in a place that the convention will be happening at the same time. I have a lot still to learn, but the concept seems pretty cool and I'm glad I'll get to participate!
So who is doing something for the Dapper Days? Anyone doing the dessert party Sunday night?
I finished my half costume. Boba Fett.
The accessories for dapper Chewie.
@HockeyMomNH Those are both amazing! I LOOOOOVE the Millennium Falcon fascinator! And good call on the ribbon. Not that is looked bad with the ribbon, but seeing it with the felt details takes it to the next level.
I am doing the same, and having the SAME PIRIFORMIS problem... have you found anything that has worked? All I can do is take Advil before and after the run. I've done some of the exercises they suggest online, but haven't found anything that works really well. I did switch up my shoes, which has helped some, but it's not gone completely. I have never had Piriformis issues before.... it seems like each time I do one of these rundisney events, I find a new running injury to experience.
I would think we have to be getting close to waiver time but with all the changes to W&D keeping them busy it also wouldnt surprise me to not have them released until the end of the month.
