Hands down, one of the best movies of my lifetime. I saw it twice over the weekend. I laughed; I cried. What a beautiful message for all of us to carry. A beautiful escape from the world. I loved every aspect of the film, and Ryan Gosling was incredible. Perfect for all ages. Go.

I really want to see this. I only recently read the book, and am often disappointed when I watch the movie so close to reading the book. I DO love Gosling, and you are making me want to see the movie. I'm glad they did the story justice.

I agree Project Hail Mary is a great film that did an excellent job of adapting the book. Obviously there are parts of the book that are not in the movie, and some scenes were written to move the story along more quickly, but I did not notice anything added that was a significant departure from the gist of the book.

The US rating is PG-13, but it would be appropriate for slightly younger kids who are interested in science, can sit through a 2 1/2 hour movie, and can handle the level of violence and peril of old Disney movies (e.g., Snow White, Bambi, and Sleeping Beauty).

I was excited for this after the first trailer, though I wasn't so sure after a later trailer. I am not the biggest fan of the directors either, so I started to wonder if I'd be into it. It seems to be getting strong reviews and word of mouth though. Still, I don't know.... I might wait and watch it at home.

I keep meaning to get the book from my boys - I know one of them have it and loved the book, I just forget which kid has the book. I'll probably wait until the movie is streaming somewhere - but hopefully have read the book by then as well.

We go Thursday. I booked as soon as I could.

DS#2, who read book, was getting antsy and looked to see it this weekend and theaters were "sold out" minus the upfront seats. He is very excited. Called me last night to tell me (which I already knew) that the alien is a puppet not CGI and that they made puppeteer voice the final voice instead of a voice over. Love the old school film touches.

Love interviews with Ryan Gosling, talking how this is the movie that finally is for his whole family, that his kids were on set and he's proud to have made something for them.

If they made a tv show spin off "The Adventures of Carl and Ryland" I would totally watch that.

It was one of the best movies and book adaptations I've seen. It was fantastic.

Ryan Gosling was perfectly cast as Ryland Grace. And Rocky...I just can't with these two. I want to see it again and again.

Project Hail Mary is one of my favorite books, DD (15) also read it so we went this weekend and we loved it. It's very true to the book, but brings it to life. Ryan Gosling was so good in it, really perfect. It's a great family movie.
