I think that since the signup was so quick after the announcement, they don't have anything in place yet. It wouldn't surprise me to get an email or see an announcement from runDisney of the additional events added later.

Yeah, people were complaining about that. I think it's because the Wookie Welcome Party didn't sell out this year so they opted not to have it in 2016. But who knows, they might surprise us and add it later.

For those of you looking to register on Tuesday, I highly recommend signing up on Active.com for a 1 month trial membership for $1. Just be sure to cancel the membership before the month is over or else you will be charged the full amount for a year membership. Full Active.com members do not have to go into the queue like non-full members have and you should be able to register faster. That tip is from a friend of mine who works with RunDisney for events.

I did this too - I had no idea if it got me in quicker. But I did save $9 overall. So hey!

Does anyone else find the active site to not be very user friendly? I was considering doing the one month trial... But can't even find the SW race listed on their site. The upcoming races are listed out of order(by date) ... Is there a trick to it?

The SW races will not open up until regular registration on the 22nd. For AP or DVC early registration, the special link to active did not actually open until noon exactly, until then it said "not found." So don't worry you werent missimg it! Also, I would get the Direct link from the rundisney site on the 22nd. Just easier!

Thanks. It's confusing because W&D, Marathon weekend and Princess weekend show up in upcoming events, but nothing is listed in any sort of chronological order. I had the impression from OP that you went in through the active site to skip the que- nonexistent as it was! Lol!
Thanks again for clarifying.... I'll just keep sweating til Tuesday.... I just hope for the next race I remember to register for One at a time... Only pick one event at a time... Only one at a time ... Only one at a time....

Registration for Star Wars Disneyland was in June this year for the Jan 2016 race

I talked to them Wednesday and they were hoping for the 19th. They said they'd send the email blast out when they had something.

yeah, I talked to them on Monday or so and that was there thought back then too. I also have been in contact with Foerster travel (GoMagicalMiles) and I'm on the top of their list so I will probably buy from her, and she didn't have any better estimate either - but that was Tuesday. I just don't want to keep bugging these providers myself if someone has already done so in the mean time. I'd like to go through Acclaim but I signed up with them a day late so I figure I'm in the middle of their list and so I'll stick with GoMagicalMiles for now. I just hope that they don't get their bibs AFTER the registration - I don't think I'd want to take the chance to wait, I'd probably try to signup myself on Tuesday.

I'm not sure when they were announced, but I registered for the WDW 10K and full April 14 through early registration.

Any thoughts on host hotels? Will this be like the Princess with just certain resorts offering race day transport, or like marathon weekend where every hotel does? As popular as this race is proving to be, I want to get some accommodations nailed down.

How do you know where you are on the list - did you email or call the provider? I signed up with Acclaim but I'd hate to miss out because I was at the bottom & didn't know it. Wondering now if I should try to register on my own Tuesday or not???

I just checked my email & I signed up with Acclaim on 8/27....but I'm not sure when they started accepting pre-registration. Does anyone remember?

I signed up with Foerster within minutes of it being announced so I was effectively the first person she had. With acclaim I forgot and did it the next day, I think the 27th, so by that time I was further down, but I expect they will get a couple of hundred bibs so you should be fine...I figure since I'm at the top of the list at the other provider than I should be fine.

I'm surprised at that as well. I'm also very disappointed. We've always had such fun at them. I was hoping that since this was a inaugural race they might do something special.

They might not have a huge bash, but most of the day races have beer trucks in the post-finish area. Grabbing a few beers, taking pictures with the characters, and listening to the music is not a bad way to wind down after a race.
