Official 2016 Princess Half Marathon Thread

Keels, I see you are doing the Hot Chocolate 15K in Dallas this weekend. Me too! I changed to the 15K from the 5K because it's a 9 mile weekend for my Dark Side Challenge training. It will be my first time at that distance. I'm slow as molasses, but I'm hoping to keep up with their 15 min/mile requirement. I'm sure I'll be able to spot you out of the hundreds of runners;)

I'll be the one in the very back of the pack! Seriously - I have run MAYBE twice since Dopey, and it wasn't really great ... I still have blisters on my right foot and my toe tendon still bugs me from time to time.

But my good friend (she runs Disneyland with me!) signed up for this race too as a nice long run before Cowtown, so I'm going to push myself and see how it goes! I'm excited about the bling and the swag!

So today was disappointing went to physio thought they would do Shockwave Therapy on my Achilles. They said No seeing my race dates are so close or gave me the option of deciding not to running. I said definitely NO! So all they can do is make me comfortable! The treatment requires rest not an option right now. I guess I will just have to suck it up buttercup till after Tinkerbell. I was hoping for a miracle! Oh well this will not be my best time but I will get it done. The carrot that is hanging is that pink C2C. Oh well at least I'm on my taper.

It worked for me on firefox. Maybe your browser is wonky?
I was using Firefox. After about a half hour things worked out. Who knows, could have been the internet reception in the typhoon of rain coming down around my work. Thanks everyone!

@MyFavEeyore I tried it when you posted and all I got was the white screen too. It was down for about 10-15 minutes. I was hoping they were updating things but I guess not.

I'll be at Cowtown too. One of my daughters is running the 10K so I'm running with her. I hope you get better quickly!

So sorry to hear this kelly 1! Is shockwave therapy something like ultrasound?
Well, its good that you are getting treatment and taking care of yourself. Deep breaths...and peaceful mantras, that's how I try to get through!

Ok, I'm going to vent: I hate waiting. I feel like there's so much in my life that I am waiting on, and I'm going crazy. Waiting on bibs/waivers/corrals from runDisney. Waiting on my W-2. Waiting on my orders (I'm in the military, transferring this summer). Waiting to hear back about my graduation in May.

I am so sick of waiting. C'mon, gimme something...

I'm with you @Dis_Yoda and @Luv2Run! This waiting is killing me. I am hoping we see something today, but afraid the Disneyland registration will keep rD busy. God forbid there are any problems with that, then I'll be worried we won't see anything tomorrow either!

I tried desperately to do six miles today but at mile five my calves started cramping so bad. I decided to stop and go drink my chocolate milk and get an egg bagel at McDonald's. I stretched for a bit so hopefully that will help.

While we are waiting (patiently? not!) for our bib numbers, I just want to say thank you to the ladies who introduced me to Sparkle Skirts! I now own 4 and buying another from my DD at Princess. This is all since CHRISTMAS!!! Btw, my DH does NOT thank you, lol! :)

Ugh - I'm up seven, with another three (including a "Grail Skirt" that SSHQ helped me find ...) due to arrive any day now. Ugh. My husband is going to KILL me. I'll probably end up selling a couple after Princess Weekend. That said, four of them are ones that I'll wear to Rangers games during baseball season, so I'll definitely get my money's worth out of them. I'm tending to go with more of the solid skirts. I bought Mermaid for Princess Weekend and I'm just not sure it's for me ... hopefully someone will want to trade for it after Princess. :scared:

Also - on the topic of bibs/corrals/waivers ... IF we see anything officially from RunDisney on the RunDisney website today, there's a good chance that it will be included in the FTP upload that adds the registration link for the Disneyland Half at Noon EST today.

Lol I don't feel so bad now! DD bought me my Grail (Peacock Snow!) and my other must have was Dazzle. Started with Black Silk to go with everything and for my Princess Half costume (Mrs. Incredible). So I am pretty set. BUT I am anxiously waiting to see the 2 new releases at the Expo! Fairytales and NewJasmine! Don't those sound exciting, lol? (Seriously I have a problem!). :)

I have purchased two and immediately sold one. For some reason the medium didn't fit as well in the same fabric waist. I'm hoping to get a few more at the expo where I can try them on. I wear my running skirts all the time so they will definitely get used. Today I work capris and my compression socks and it was so hot in the gym I was wishing I had worn a skirt!

I really need a good headband/earwarmer. I'm wearing a wool one that I made but I want a red polka dot to go with my Minnie outfit. Do you think anyone at the expo will have them?

I LOVE Peacock Snow! I wore it for the 5K at Dopey! It won't be one I wear ever day (ie. not for running) much, because I don't do a lot of patters and I feel like my skirt is a little short compared to the shorts, but I LOVE how pretty and soft it is compared to my other skirts! I loved wearing it to kick off Dopey.

Frankly, Mermaid is the only one I've bought that I haven't liked. I bought AdventureBeige, but I think I may try to swap it for RayOfLight because I think Ray is more of a khaki color.

I have more than both of you combined (even with Keels skirts that are due to arrive in the mail)...you're fine. :faint: Compared to me, anyway. :teeth:
