Official 2016 Princess Half Marathon Thread

I'm training for the Rebel Challenge right now and starting my back to back long runs this weekend. Eep. Starting with 4 miles on Saturday and 5 on Sunday. We'll see how this training goes and what I have to tweak to get ready for GSC after I get back from RC.

Which one are you looking for? If it's listed as OPEN STOCK, just keep checking the page and it'll be back eventually. :)

Actually, it is back in stock now, but I've spent a gazillion dollars this week and can't really justify buying it just yet. It is this one. I'm going to be princess Minnie.

Well, in training for the PHM 10k, I'm supposed to be at 3mi, with a goal to be at 3.5 by Dec. 12. I'm proud to say, though you guys who do the half and full marathons have my utmost respect, that I did 3.5 last night. All be it on the dreadmill, but hey, it's cold out! LOL! I know, nothing to write home about but I feel good that I'm ahead of JG's 10k training program!
That is awesome! I feel good about every step I take because I know it is a step that others are not taking. I have a friend who never gets off her sofa and yet wonders why she is sick all the time.

You're doing great! You're ahead of me. I'm not up to 3 miles yet.

I once read that if you are congested you should go for a run because it will get the snot moving.

I believe it! My nose runs like a faucet when I'm running.

Great choice! I don't have that one anymore but I did wear it for this year's marathon. :) Smart to buy it well ahead of time, you know it's going to be harder to get closer to January/February (for WDW, Star Wars and Princess weekend I'm sure it's a popular choice).

Headed out for my long run of the week tomorrow... 7 miles! Hoping that the rain will finally stop and the sun will come out.

Also excited to start working on my running costume!

I don't have a long run, but I agree with you, I am hoping it stops raining where I am (MA) soon. Its been dreary for days. At least its not snow;)

If my show goes well this weekend, I plan to order it on Monday. It just occurred to me that it is already December!

Its gray and windy here in MD... if this 15-20 MPH wind gusts don't die down then I'm afraid my long run will be postponed. I can't do 7 on the dread mill, I'll go nuts.

It can be done...I did just over 8 on Monday as currently my LR's are on Monday's, that will change to Friday after the first of the year.
To keep up with training, I schedule my runs like my work and chores so that it gets done. So if it is raining, too cold or windy the run happens on the TM.

I know it's been posted before by the lovely folks here but I keep missing it when searching....does someone have the link to enter in your flight information for MDE?

I did 8 miles on the treadmill on Sunday - my longest treadmill run. It wasn't as bad as I was thinking it might be. The only thing was I was looking at the same stuff over & over, but the actual running part wasn't that bad. Good luck with your long run!

Time to catch up on this thread. Training has been minimal since the Wine and Dine 25cent piece run.

Can you say try for a lot of miles and time on the stationary bike.

That is why I watch tv or a movie while on the treadmill.

My plans for the weekend have changed and now I'm irritated. If I had known, I would have skipped my run on Wednesday and done the Jingle Jam 10k on Saturday! But, I didn't sign up and now my shins are hurting from running on cement and Saturday's race is partly on the same cement path I ran Wednesday. There is no way I could do six miles and still walk after.

Ended up doing an hour, 5.4 miles total. I'll get a longer run in another day. I have to remember all the miles I do now will only make the race that much easier!! You guys are also great motivation too :)

This is so true about the miles...every mile (no matter if you run or walk them) you do now will only help, and make "race" day less stressful and more enjoyable! Not to mention is sure helps this time of the year with all the goodies around! :)
