Hello everyone....

Since my nerves have calmed down now that I have officially registered for the glass slipper challenge... I'd like to introduce myself.

My name is Rebecca and I'm from Houston 27 years old no kids no husband but I have recently fallen in love with Run/ walking it started off as a way to be healthier and now I'm like completely obsessed.

Since this is my first ever race... Although I might be doing a 5k later this year I'd love to get to know you all !

I'll be essay to pick out just call me the fluffy jogger! I'll be attending the race alone and would love to have new friends when I get there.

Welcome!! I would highly suggest looking for a 10K to run in your area - will help with race day jitters and you will get a time for corral placement!

Hubs and I got into the Princess half this morning! SO excited! My first day time race at Disney (two Wine and Dine half marathon's under our belts!) and so excited to run through the Castle!!! woohoo!!!!!!!

The daytime races are super different! Congrats on getting in!

Also, does Chear Squad usually fill up? I want to get it as a gift for my family members, but was hoping to save up for a little before then.

I'm so excited! Was able to get both my husband and myself registered for GSC...so thankful for whomever mentioned the facebook link was working...I'd been trying runDisney and active.com for a good 10 minutes before registration opened and was just getting dead screens!!

Now to figure out where to stay...we usually stay at BLT for marathon weekend, but we've never been to Princess...do the monorails run early for Princess? I'd heard there were fewer "host" resorts for Princess....

Welcome! You will meet some great people on this thread and then in person at the race so no need to worry about feeling alone! Many experienced runners & walkers on this thread will provide valuable insight.

Yes, the monorails do run, and no, there are not fewer hosts - all resorts are host resorts.

There used to be fewer host resorts, but Princess has gotten way bigger over the past few years.

I have no idea, but for the 2016 January races they started CCC registration on the same day as all of the other races.

I'm a dork, so I looked it up.
Last year Princess registration was on 7/15 and they announced the CCC on July 21st (and started registration on the 22nd). So there's still hope!
Maybe they just announced it early for Marathon Weekend because that's a longer weekend so people need more time to save up money for the trip...

Every hotel is a host resort for Princess. Monorails should be running early.

I was able to sign myself and DD up for the 10k. We were already registered for 5k with AP early registration. My first 10k, I better start training. This will be my 4th Disney 5k and 7th total.

Maybe you are right. Between them having it during January registration and the rumors that they weren't bringing it back for Princess, and the fact that it sold very slowly last year (did it even sell out?), I sort of thought it wouldn't be back.

Yay! I ran the 10K course in January and really liked it. I think I may be the most excited for that race out of the 3!
